Scrapbox Challenge #4 -----Circles

Happy weekend to all of you - and welcome to another scrapbox challenge.

This week I chose the theme "circles".

If you're new to the scrapbox challenge: It is for fun only to get me(and maybe you) to use up our scraps. If you'd like me to come see what you made just leave your name and card link with mr. linky.

I made this card for my son's 7th birthday this week. He gets up at 7am every morning to watch Curious George and I love to watch it with him. That monkey is just the cutest! So I decided to search the web for a digital image and found this cute one. It was colored with copics. The sketch is from mojo monday.

All papers and embellishments are from Stampin Up, retired designer papers from my scrap box, real red, yoyo yellow and pacific point card stock. I used my paper crimper on the strip of yellow card stock for a little extra texture. I embellished with ribbon and a chocolate chip button.

That's it for today, hope you'll join me in using up our scraps, and don't forget to come back and link your card if y0u'd like me to come see it.

Have a fabulous day,
Ellie.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #30 - a color challenge

Thursday 10/29/09 11:35pm

I can't believe it's already thursday, I totally forgot to post my card for the last digital tuesday challenge, even though it was already typed up and "drafted" So here it is, better late than never.

Michelle is our hostess this week. She wants to see the colors kraft, orange and one other color of our own choosing in our design. Fun fun fun!

I went with green, because I wanted my dragon to be green, LOL.

The cute dragon image is a freebie from Dustin Pike from quite a while ago before he had a digi stamp store. I colored the image with copics and sponged the edges using creamy caramel ink. Then framed it with green galore card stock. Designer Paper is from Stampin Up. A pretty simple card, perfect for a little boy. The sentiment is from a stampin up set.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, hope you'll find some time to join our challenge this week for a chance to win some digis from my own store, Digital Stamp Oasis.

Halloween Treats

And here are the 21 treats I was working on for my dear son's school class. I kept it pretty simple, just punched out images off designer paper I got at hobby lobby and framed them with a scallop circle. Then added the tag with ribbon. I just didn't have much time this year to do something more involved. I'm sure the kids will love the treats though.

Enjoy your day!!

Scrapbox Challenge #3 - Glitter

Happy Saturday everyone!

And welcome to the 3rd scrapbox challenge. This week I chose * Glitter * as the theme. I love sparkles and add them to just about any card. So that part of the challenge was easy for me and I am so happy to have used another small scrap piece of designer paper.

If you're new to the scrapbox challenge: It is for fun only to get me(and maybe you) to use up our scraps. If you'd like me to come see what you made just leave your name and card link with mr. linky.

This is a super simple card. I received this image (stampin up) from a image swap. Cut it out into a circle and adhered it to a nestabilities scallop circle, and framed it with another circle. Designer Paper is a retired strip of Stampin Up designer paper, and the card base is old olive from SU. Added a little bit of glitter to the image and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

I might end up adding a ribbon somewhere, or maybe a couple of brads. I just might leave it how it is. It looks kind of plain on the screen, but I like it how it looks in real life, so I am not sure yet.

Ok, that's it about the card, hope you'll join me in using our scraps this week. If you'd like me to come see your card just leave your name and card link with mr. linky.

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Digital Tuesday Challenge ***Things with wings.

Hi all and happy tuesday to all of you!
Lorraine has chosen a super fun challenge for us today at Digital Tuesday.

***Things with wings***

I would have had so many images to choose from, but I really needed a baby image because I needed to make a baby card, so I have asked my dear husband to draw me a flying stork with baby wrapped in blanked image.

I used copics to color the image, then adhered it to basic gray card stock and framed it with a rectangle scallop nestabities shape. The white card front was run through my big kick using a cuttlebug embossing folder. I added some gingham ribbon, stamped the sentiment and punched it out with a oval punch. To finish it off I added a matching bashful blue button.

This brand new image is now available for purchase in my etsy store.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, hope you can join us at digital tuesday, we have another brand new sponsor this week, Sassy Studio Designs, who are offering 4 digis to one lucky winner.

Scrapbox Challenge #2

Wow, I can't believe October is more than halfway over. This year has gone by so fast!
And since we are in the middle of fall, I decided to make

Fall/ Autumn

the theme for Scrapbox challenge #2. Anything fall goes, colored leaves, pumpkins, apples, farmers, thanksgiving, etc.

If you're new to the scrapbox challenge: It is for fun only to get me(and maybe you) to use up our scraps. If you'd like me to come see what you made just leave your name and card link with mr. linky.

I really wanted to use this cute image of Willie from the Maya, the bee show. I found it at a online coloring book site.

I had the designer paper forever! I can't even remember buying it or using it, but I must have at some point because I only had less than a half a sheet of it in my scrap box.
The image was colored using copics. The sentiment is a $ stamp from Michaels that I bought a couple of years ago. I stamped it on white and punched it out with my scallop circle punch. And the little pumpkin in the left top corner is a stamp from an old stampin up set. I'm so happy I have found use for this patterend paper, and I think the friend I am going to send this card to will love it.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, hope I inspired you to get out your designer paper scraps before you cut into another new piece of designer paper! And don't forget to come back and link your "scrap-card" so I can come see it!

computer problems

Hi all,

just a quick post to let you all know, our desktop computer is having a virus and we cannot get rid of it. It has been going on for a while now, and we have decided that it is time to reboot our computer and reinstall all the hardware/software again. I hate that thought because it means I'll also loose my wireless router until it is reinstalled again. I am hoping to get it done quickly without any outside help, but I am not sure.

Ellie.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 28 ----BOO

Hi all.
It's time for another challenge over at digital tuesday. Our challenge host Amy wants to see halloween projects done this week.

For my digital I used a freebie from Mo Manning. I love her art, and you can get this image by joining her paper craft planet group.

I colored it with prisma color pencils and baby oil and did sponging around the edges to sort of create a "nightly feel". The sketch was inspired by last week's monday mojo, but I turned it a little to work with my image.

The little candy corn image is from my halloween hedgehog stamp set (retired stampin up), and the sentiment is from the same set too. I embellished with ribbon, a flourish die, eyelets and machine stitching. The entire recipe is below.

I'm so happy you are visiting my blog today. Hope you like my card and maybe you can join us this week at digital tuesday for a chance to win 3 of Dustin Pike's cute digis.

Recipe:
Stamps: Mo Manning halloween freebie, Halloween hedgehogs (stampin up)
Ink: HP inkjet, basic gray, elegant eggplant
Paper: white (GP), elegant eggplant, only orange (both SU), purple designer paper (the paper studio), orange print designer paper from my scrap box
Accessories and tools: grosgrain ribbon, black eyelets, oval punch ( SU), flourish die (sizzix), scallop circle nestabilities, janome mini sewing machine, big kick, prismacolor pencils, blending stumps, baby oil.

Welcome to the Scrapbox Challenge!!

I don't know about you, but my scrapbox is running over and it seems like most of the times when I make a card, I end up getting a brand new piece of designer paper out. So for this reason I just decided to start a new challenge right here on my blog,

The Scrapbox challenge

to get myself, and maybe some of you, to use up all those pretty paper scraps. Once a week I will challenge myself (and hopefully some of you) to use designer papers from the scrapbox only. This is going to be just for the fun of it, so I won't have a design team and I won't have any regular sponsors.

I will post a challenge every weekend, and if you'd like to play along just add your name and card with mr. linky below so I can come see your card.

The theme for the first challenge is

"Punches".

Use as many or as few punches as you want! And remember, designer papers from your scrapbox only!

My card also qualifies for this week's Stamp something challenge, which is brown and something. This piece of au chocolate retired StampinUp designer paper from my scrap box was perfect.

It was quick card to make, and the sketch was super easy too. The recipe is below.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, hope you like the card, and maybe I inspired you to use up your scraps too!

Recipe:
Stamps: Penny Black, stampin up
Paper: pretty in pink, very vanilla, sage shadow, DP au chocolate (all SU)
Ink: memento tuxedo black, creamy caramel, chocolate chip, copics
Accessories and tools: flatback pearl, flower punch (SU), twigs punch, lace border punch (MS), circle punch (EK), sponge

Music to your ears ... DTC27

Hi all,

here's my card for this week's DTC. Shelly chose a super fun theme for us at the Digital Tuesday Challenge.

*Music to your ears*

When I saw this image from our sponsor "The little yellow company", I knew it was perfect for this challenge. Plus I love Elvis!

I decided to make a CD cover.
The image was colored with copics and cut out. I then mounted it to a star shape. Designer papers are from Stampin Up & DCWV and card stock is from Stampin Up. I sponged the white edges with turquise ink and did some sewing with my janome mini. To finish this CD cover off, I added some grosgrain ribbon , sizzix flourishes and applied silver stickles to the image.
The inside was inspired by a cover that Tina from Tina's Kreativeblog made.

The words were computer generated.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. The full recipe is below.
Be sure to check out the digital tuesday challenge blog to see what the other designers created and maybe you can play along for a chance to win something from the little yellow company. All you have to do is make a card/project using a digistamp and something to do with music.

Recipe:
  • Stamps: digi - the little yellow company
  • Paper: Stampin up, DCWVInk: HP inkjet, temp. turquoise, copics for coloring
  • Accessories & tools: grosgrain ribbon, stickles, nestabilities labels 8, large oval punch, sizzix flourish, big kick, half inch circle punch, janome mini.

My new stamp!

Hi all,

I received this adorable stamp in the mail today. My husband won it for me on ebay. I've been wanting it ever since I saw a card made with it.

I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils and baby oil. The edges were sponged using close to cocoa ink. Since the stamp is quite large, there wasn't much room to decorate the card and I didn't feel like making a huge card. So I just framed it with pretty in pink card stock, did some sewing along the edge and then adhered it to the wild wasabi card front.

The sentiment was punched out using a oval punch, and I embellished with some black gingham ribbon and applied stickles glitter. I am so loving this stamp and can't to color the image again. LOL.

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Stampendous (God sent his best - precious moments), Stampin Up (cute converse)
  • Paper: Wild wasabi, pretty in pink (Stampin Up), white (georgia pacific)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, close to cocoa
  • Accessories and Tools: prisma color pencils, blending stumps, baby oil, star dust stickles glitter, black gingham ribbon, janome sew mini sewing machine, small oval punch
