Happy Sunday everyone!
It's Whimsy Stamps Showcase day 5 today and I had a little extra time, so I decided to be part of the mini hop today! And it's another day for a chance to win a Whimsy Stamp!
To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, all you have to do is leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 25 April.
For today's cards I used the stamp set "For all the Women in our Lives" by Raindrop Echo Designs. Such a beautiful stamp set! I had so much fun with it!! I am so glad I found time to make two cards for today's hop. I hope you'll like them...
I really wanted to do the brayering technique with this tree stamp. I am not very good at brayering, because I hardly ever do it, but I always admire all the brayered cards, so I decided to try it again.

I first inked up my brayer using more mustard ink and brayed the top of the card stock.
Then I punched out a sticky note using a circle punch and stuck it onto the brayered part of the paper. Inked up my brayer with really rust ink and brayered over it not all the way down, Then I inked a little bit of a deeper red ink and just brayered the very top of the card stock.
Finally I brayered some old olive ink on the bottom part of the card stock. (This whole brayering process really gave me some inky fingers!) Then stamped the tree using memento tuxedo black ink onto the card stock. (Now that it is finished I wish I would have thought of heat embossing the tree using black embossing powder.) Removed the sticky note and cut my image to the size I needed. Then I inked up the tree stamp again and stamped some leaves around the edges.
To finish my card, I just layered the image to some black and olive card stock, then adhered it to the card front. The sentiment is also part of this set.
I am entering this to the following challenges:
- Annabelle Stamps Challenge - use Black
- Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge - Something New (brand new stamp set)
- Simply Create Too - Earth Day
- Craft Room Challenge - Ink It
And here is the other card made using this set.

I saw this color combo in a catalog and thought it would look great on a card. Not sure why the blue turned out so dark, it is really Island Indigo fom SU but it looks more like Night of Navy in the photo.
I made the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch, and added glitter to them. Did some paper piercing along the edge, and then added some twine, and a few sticky pearls and glitter to the butterflies.
I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:
- Paper and Such Design - Clean and Simple
- Sassy Cheryl's - Butterflies
- Crafty Ribbons - Things with Wingshings with Win
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.
Below are the blogs of the rest of the team showcasing today.
