May the sun shine all day long...

I recently bought this cute Mo Manning image ( her name is April) and had a little time to color today, so I decided to play along in this week's Digital Pencil Too challenge. The theme this week is Pastel Colors, so I colored the image with pastel shades.

The whole image has been cut out, to make it work with the sketch I had in mind. The sentiment is from one of the new sentiment sets by Whimsy Stamps - Birthday Greetings. I kept the card pretty simple, just added some ribbon and a diecut flower and flourish. the flower was made using one of the flower dies from MFT, the flourish was made with one of Whimsy's leafy corner dies.

Products used:
Stamps: April digi (Mo Manning), Birthday Greetings (whimsy stamps)
Papers: my Minds Eye, Stampin Up, Neenha
Tools: Leafy Corner Dies , Flower trio die set (MFT), Faber Castell Polychromos pencils
Embellishments: ribbon, brad, stickles glitter

Besides Mo's Digital Challenge, I am also entering my card to a few other challenges. Die cuts and punches at Stampin' For The Weekend , anything goes at Crafty Ribbons, pastels at DRSDesigns, use a sentiment at Paper Crafting Journey, Spring at Creative Belli, anything goes at Simon Says Stamp,  and birthdays at Digital Tuesday .

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful weekend with some crafty time and lots of sunshine!

Whimsy Stamps - April Release Review Day

Good Morning and Happy Thursday everyone!
I have two cards to share with you today, both using the cute stamp set "Sweet Froggies" from Whimsy's 2cute ink collection.

We are having our Whimsy Stamps Review Day Blog Hop today and I hope you'll find some time to hop along with us for a chance to win.

I just couldn't decide which one of the cute images to use, so I colored them up both and then couldn't resist turning them both into cards.

The sentiment on the above card is part of the same set "Sweet Froggies". I used some papers from my stash. Image has been colored using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. A pretty CAS card, embellished with a little flower and brad and then I did some sewing around the edge.

The second card is also pretty CAS. For this card I used one of the Birthday Greetings Sentiments from the set "Birthday Greetings" by Raindrop Echo Designs, also just release yesterday. I am loving these sentiments, they are so perfect for stamping on the inside, but as you see, also perfect for the outside of the card. A huge thank you to Ann and Denise for creating these!!

Again, I colored with my pencils, and papers are from my stash.

Whimsy Stamps April Rubber Stamp and Die Release

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far and are able to enjoy some nice spring weather.

It's new release day over at Whimsy Stamps today, lots of gorgeous new stamps are being released, as well as dies and new designer papers and Shape EZ templates too. Be sure to check them out here in the store, or you can see them all here on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog.

Starting this month we are doing things a little bit different at Whimsy Stamps, instead of the 7 day Showcases, we will be having 3 days of blog hops - Sneak Peek Day (which was yesterday), Release day (which is today) and then Review Day (tomorrow). And we will be showing you more Whimsy Cards spread out a little bit more over the month. I really like this new change, although I loved being part of several hops, it is much easier for me creating on a weekly basis instead of all at once.

Of course we are still having prizes to give away, with our hops, so be sure to visit all the Designers participating in today's hop, to be entered into the prize draw. You have 24hours to comment, starting 12noon EST.

Since today's release day falls on the same day as the Whimsy Stamps Challenge (rubber design team creations), I have created this card for both, the challenge and the Release Hop. The challenge this month is "Pretty in Pink", and you have about two weeks left to play along for a chance to win one of the prizes up for grabs. I promise, my pretty designer paper is really a hot pink with some softer pink, although it kind of looks more purlpe-ish in the photo.

I used the stamp Lemon Pepper Beach Bucket from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell collection. Isn't she adorable! I colored her using my Faber Castell polychromos pencils, as usual. The beach, ocean and sky were done using a brayer.

The beautiful sentiment is part of another new release set, from the Sylvia Zet collection - Flower Fairies. I thought it would be just perfect to use with the Elisabeth Bell stamp.

Papers are from a DCWV paper pack. I added some sparkles and some seam binding ribbon, and finished it off with some machine sewing. Hope you like my creation!

Card Recipe:
  • Stamps: Lemon Pepper Beach Bucket, Flower Fairies (both Whimsy Stamps)
  • Inks: Sahara Sand, creamy caramel, tempting turquoise, island indigo, soft sky (all for brayering), memento tuxedo black for images.
  • Papers: Neenah white, DCWV designer paper, SU pink
  • Tools: brayer, scallop oval die, sponge, sewing machine
  • Embellishments: seam binding, glitter

Don't forget - to be entered into today's prize draw for the blog hop, you have to visit all the participating designers. You can find the complete list of stops right here on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog.
or simply click the links below...

Ann, Bev, Iris, Simonne, Debbie, Ellie (me), Heidy

There is no hop order, and no other rules, all you have to do is visit each one of today's designers and leave a comment.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have fun hopping, and if you're up for challenge, why not check out Whimsy Inspires Challenge. As always, you don't have to use a Whimsy Stamp to be eligible to win.

Thanks a Bunch with Spring Flowers

I've been busy making cards today while the kids were playing with their friends, and I had so much fun doing it!!
I am only showing you one of the cards I made today, I will show you the other two next week.

Mo Manning just released a few new stamps, and she is also having a Design Team Call for Mo's Dream Team. It would be an absolute dream to be creating for Mo Manning using her amazing images, so I am going to give it a try. To apply we are asked to use our favorite Mo Stamp and create something with it.

Of course there are so many of Mo's stamps that I love, so I decided to purchase a new favorite, from her recent release, this is called "Spring for Sale" and I was in love with the image the minute I saw it. And since I was lucky enough to get the discount code by hopping along in Mo's hop, I was able to save 25% and so I added a few others to my order.
I colored the image using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, and copic markers for the skin tones.
I decided to use one of my favorite sketches, along with some matching designer paper from my stash. The sentiment is from Whimsy's Everyday Button Sentiments, it's been cut out using the button die.
To finish it off I added some twine, glitter and did some sewing too.

Here is a closer view of the gorgeous image.

I would love to play along in a few challenges too:
And that would be all from me for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and please wish me luck. It would be an absolute dream to be part of Mo's Dream Team, but I know my chances are slim with all the amazing talent out there!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
