Whimsy Stamps July Rubber Stamp Release - Review Day

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by!
Today the Whimsy Stamps Designers are holding a Review Blog hop, to share some more creations made with  the gorgeous stamps, dies, papers and Shape EZ templates that were just released yesterday. I hope you'll be able to join us, as once again there will be a chance to win a fabulous Whimsy prize.

Today I'd like to show you a card made using the super adorable stamp "Lomasi" from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection. Isn't she adorable! I have also used the sentiment set "Welcome to the Big top"for sentiments and background stamping.

She has been colored using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I used my cutterbee scissors to cut her out. The paper in the background is from Prima Marketing. I decided to use the carousel stamp from the set "Welcome to the big top" to add to the designer paper. I have also used also used the stamp "A World of Adventure" randomly as you can see. It's a pretty simple sketch, I simply added the border die cut (using Whimsy's lace doily border die 1), along with a strip of designer paper and some twine to the top. The tickets are part of the set "Welcome to the big top". They were cut out using the mini ticket die, and the regular ticket die. To finish it off, I sponged the edges, did some sewing and added a button.

To be entered into today's blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced here on the Whimsy blog on Friday.

Here is the card I created for today, using the stamp set "Welcome to the Big Top" from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs.

Thought these balloons would be perfect to create a little "vintage style" card with. It has been a little while since I actually made it, as it is another one that I sent to Denise for use at the Whimsy Booth at CHA in Las Vegas.  So I am not sure what ink colors I used, but I think it was Mustard Seed and Walnut stain Distress inks. To create the look of two different colors on the balloons and sentiments, I simply inked the stamp first with the lighter color, then slightly inked it with the walnut stain.

The white background was made by stamping an old script background stamp, as well as some postage stamps from Whimsy - Vintage Travel Postage Stamps- in "old paper" ink, and then also in walnut stain/mustard seed. Sorry but I don't remember exactly what Designer Paper I used, it's something from my stash probably by K&Co, or My Minds Eye. The edges were all inked with walnut stain ink, I did some machine sewing and distressing. The main sentiment is part of the set "Welcome to the big top. I used the slider 1 die from Whimsy to cut it out.

I made another card using this stamp set, but will post that at another time. This is such a fun and versatile stamp set to create cards with, not to mention it's perfect for scrapbook pages too!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have fun hopping and good luck everyone!

Whimsy Stamps - July Rubber Stamp and Die - Sneak Peek

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by!
It is almost time for Whimsy's Rubber Stamp and Die July release. Today we are having a sneak peek blog hop, showing you some of the amazing new designs available tomorrow. (But just in case you really want something, maybe check out the whimsy store later today, you might just find that you can already purchase them today ;-)

Here is what I created using a stamp set from Whimsy's "MOMA's" designs. The stamp set is called "Apple of my Eye" and will be officially available to purchase in the Whimsy Shop tomorrow. That said, I think that unofficially you can already purchase it NOW!

The image has been stamped with memento tuxedo black ink, and then colored using my faber castell polychromos. No, I haven't given up on my copics again. I just made all the cards for this release well in advance, as I sent them to use in Whimsy's booth at CHA, so they were all made before I started getting serious with my copics. I do like though how my pencil coloring turned out.

After coloring the image, I used my cutterbee scissors to cut it out. The papers are from My Minds Eye. I randomly stamped one of the sentiment stamps from the set onto kraft card stock. Then I stamped it in black on white for the sentiment. The die used on the bottom, behind the sentiment is Whimsy's Notables 5 die. I cut it out using kraft cardstock, also randomly stamping the sentiment onto the paper. Then I inked the edges using distress inks. This iwas also done to the complete card front.
I added some lace and ribbon, and a simple button with some twine to finish it off.

Here is a closeup.

As always, we are having a prize hidden in each daily blog hop. If you'd like to be entered into the drawing of today's hop, simply visit all the participating blogs listed below, and don't forget to leave a comment. We love to hear from you!

Hello everyone and thanks so much for visiting!

It's time for the Whimsy Rubber Design Team to share some cards over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog. This month the theme is Ribbon and Lace. There are about 2 weeks left to enter into this month's challenge for a chance to win one of the amazing prizes from Whimsy up for grabs. You may use any make stamps, it doesn't have to be a Whimsy Stamp.

Here is what I created using the adorable stamp "Sweet Sparkle" from Whimsy's Wee stamps collection.

I  made this card before I started getting back into my copics, so she's been colored using my Faber Castell Polychromos.
The whole image has been stamped twice, once onto neenah card stock, ,and then onto my card front. The one on neenah has been fussy cut out using my cutterbee scissors. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye. I added some ribbon and lace to the left side, then the sentiment and a tiny flower with a pearl. The sentiment is from the set "Seashells by the Shore", also by Whimsy Stamps.

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:

Songbird #24 Ribbon
Card Mania  Pearls and/or Gems
Card and Scrap -  Use lace or ribbon

Flutterby sweet butterfly

Hello and thanks so much for visiting. If you read my last post, I told you there that my Mojo has been gone and I really hadn't done much papercrafting before that. But what I did do (besides reorganizing my craft area), I looked at several copic tutorials and did some coloring just for the purpose of practicing. (Huge thanks to my Whimsy teamies for encouraging me with the copics!!)

I do like how my coloring turned out, and I realized that if I look at the right tutorials copic coloring isn't really that hard after all.
Tiddly Inks is having a Design Team call at the moment, and since I have been falling in love with these cute characters, I decided to enter my card to the Design Team call. These characters are just so much fun to color, not matter the coloring medium may be.

The image I used for today's card is called Fluttering by to say Hi from Tiddly Inks' Annabelle and Faythe collection.

 Copics used:
 Skin - E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair/Shoes: E31, E33, E35, E37
Dress: B0000, B000, B00, B02,B04
Wings & butterflies: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y17, B0000, B00

Grass and stems: YG01, YG03, G21, G85, G99
Outline: B0000, colorless blender

Here is another view at the image.

To create my card I went with one of my most favorite sketches. The image was cut out using cirlce nestabilities shape and then layered onto a double doily circle diecut (die from Whimsy Stamps). The designer paper is from one of the packs by My Minds Eye, from Hobby Lobby. I punched out some butterflies and a little flower using the matching designer paper. To finish it off I added some stitching, glitter and twine. The sentiment is from Whimsy's Summer Letter Seals sentiment set. The complete list of products used is below.

I believe the Tiddly Inks DT call is open  until the end of the month. If you'd like to find out more simply click the logo below..

Punches and Dies for Penny Black and More - July Challenge

Good morning all! Summer is here and with that my mojo decided to go on vacation LOL. But I do have a card to share today for our brand new JULY challenge at
Penny Black and More.
The theme this month is Punches and Dies. I hope you'll join us. As usual we have some fabulous prizes up for grabs from several generous sponsors - Penny Black, Whiff of Joy, Flonz, and Stix2.

Like I said my mojo has somewhat disappeared, so I just decided to get a little head start on my Christmas cards, as I know I will be needing it soon enough.

My penny black stamp is from their clear set "Holly Jolly". I just love this cute scene with cat and mouse. The image has been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
For my dies I used a scallop square nestablities shape, and the mini ticket die from Whimsy Stamps. The ticket sentiments are from Whimsy Stamps from the set "Holiday mini tickets". I used a corner rounder punch on the bottom part of the card.  It's a super simple card, I just embellished with a button and some gold cord.

I am entering my card to the following challenges:

Penny Black Saturday  - Christmas in July
Card Mania - Christmas in July
 Merry Monday -Anything Christmas Goes
Stamp and Create - Christmas in July
Amusing Challenges -  Anything Goes
