Critters & Creatures Linky Party 5

Happy Monday and welcome to Critters and Creatures Linky Party 5! This is also most likely going to be my last post until July. I am having family staying with us from overseas during the month of June, we have some fun things planned and I just want to spend time with them so no paper crafting for me during this time.

Thank you everyone that played along in the last Critters and Creatures linky party. It's always lots of fun to come see what you created. Be sure to scroll down to see if your creation was a top pick.

As always the theme here is:
Anything goes with a Critter or Creature as the focal point
(Animals, bugs, sea life, fantasy creatures)

And here is what I made.
I had already colored this image a while ago while trying out my zig clean color brush pens, but didn't really like my coloring so I set it aside. Well, it came in handy now since I am short of time at the moment, so I decided to use it after all.
A quick and easy card to create using a simple sketch.

The cute stamp set and sentiment set I used here are both currently available in my Etsy shop.

------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the top picks, it is always so hard to choose but I did manage, and here are my top picks in no particular order:

Lorraine A

Hazel

Yenni

 Congratulations ladies,
your top pick badge is below :-)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now it's time to get crafting again using a critter or creature as your focal point.
You have until Tuesday June 28th, 10am play along.
A few things to remember:

Main focus must be a Critter or Creature
(animals, bugs, sea life, fantasy creatures..)

(can be stamped, digi, die, etc...)
Blog Post must include a link back here
Use any stamp company
Doesn't have to be a card, anything crafty works
Unlimited entries but they must be new posts (no back linking)
Combine with any other challenges

PS: I might be either late posting in July or I may even be taking a break from the linky party during the month of July to catch up on commenting. Top picks from this linky party will be posted with the next linky, which might be the first Monday of August.

Hope you all have a wonderful June and happy crafting!!!

Flower Power for Penny Black and More - June challenge

Good morning, happy Sunday :-) Time already for a new challenge at Penny Black and More. We're having another nice and easy one this time, and perfect for the month of June - Flower Power. Come join us, we have some fun prizes to give away as usual from our generous sponsors. This month we are sponsored by Penny Black, Sizzix, Stamp Addicts, Crafty Ribbons.

For my card today I created a background using Pan Pastels. It's my first time ever using them and I used this card by Brenda for my inspiration. I left off the clouds though and ended up with more green...I got the painter's set, meaning pure colors, and I was trying to mix my own tints using white to make them lighter, but like I said, this was my first time playing with these pastels, and I am sure like always I need more practice. They are lots of fun though and I can't wait until I have time to play some more with them.

Anyway, I started out my masking the top and bottom portion of the white card stock, using painter's tape, and I put a circle mask in place for the sun (or moon).  Then I applied the pastels using one of the applicators that came with the set. Removed circle mask and stamped the flowers over the background. I initially used an eraser to remove the pastels from inside the blooms and colored them all using prismacolor pencils, but the eraser left me with some rubbed off black ink on one of the blooms, so I ended up re-stamping all the large flowers onto xpress it blending card, colored them with copic markers and fussy cut. I used dimensionals on a couple of the blooms, and regular glue on the others. The butterfly was also fussy cut.
After this was all done, I removed the painter's tape, stamped the sentiment and mounted it onto a wisteria wonder card base.

And that would be all for today. Thanks so much for visiting and hope you have a great Sunday!
I will be back again tomorrow with another card which will most likely be my last one for the month of June.

Let's Color Linky Party 10

Hello and thanks so much for visiting! Can't believe it's already June. This is going to be a really busy (but fun) month for me - I have family visiting from overseas - and I won't be spending much time online. But I didn't want to close the linky party as I have a paid subscription with inlinkz and wanted to get the most out of it.

Thank you all that played along last month! There were lots of wonderful entries and it's always fun to see what you all have been coloring. I try to comment on every entry, but just to let you know, I am unable to comment on entries requiring a google plus account. I also haven't commented on instagram entries, because I do my commenting on my laptop and don't remember my instagram password which I would need on my laptop to log in. But I do appreciate all entries and of course they are all being considered for top picks.
Be sure to scroll down to see if your entry was chosen as a top pick.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is what I created for the Let's Color Linky Party 10.

This funny stamp set "The Odd Couple" is from the May Whimsy Stamps release and includes several sentiments too, like the one I have used. I will be stamping "happily ever after" on the bottom right inside, which is also part of the set, but haven't had time yet to work on the inside of the card.
I colored with Zig clean color brush pens on winsor & newton watercolor marker paper, then matted onto pink card stock and I used some pretty paper to frame the cute image. I just love the looks on the critters faces :-)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto the top picks from last month. It was really hard, it always is, with so many amazing entries. But I did manage and here they are in no particular order:

Peggy

Love this technique. Peggy posted a link to the tutorial on her blog, if you'd like to find out how this is done, be sure to visit her blog for the link.

Andrea

Andrea did an amazing job coloring this cute Siamese kitty. It's always challenging for me to color cats anything but one color.

Deonna
Love how Deonna's ocean background turned out using watercolors.

Congratulations ladies, below is your top pick badge :-)

Now it's time to get coloring again. Please remember that this month I am really busy and most likely will be very behind with commenting. I am also considering taking a break from the linky party during July, to catch up on commenting and picking top choices, but I will post the top choices with the following linky, which might be the first Saturday in August.

Happy coloring everyone!!
You have until June 28th 10am to link up.
