Stripes and Dots for Allsorts (and a NEW Linky Party!)

Good morning everyone!
Today I am sharing my card for the new Allsorts challenge, with the fun theme of

  Stripes and/ or  Dots,

selected by this week's host Kath. I used both because I always love a dot/stripe combo :) We have two wonderful prizes to give away this week, kindly sponsored by Digistamp Boutique and a die set by Sizzix. Hopefully you'll find some time this week to join us!

I'm in a bit of a Valentine's card mood so I decided to make Love themed card using a cute stamp from the Penny Black set Share a Hug. Love this cute cat with balloons and roses and isn't it perfect for a Valentine?! It's been heat embossed on Bristol Vellum paper then watercolored using  Zig Clean Color brush pens. It's hard to tell on the photo, but I used a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to add a little bit of sparkle to the balloons and flowers. I love the subtle shimmer this brush gives the image, it just so hard to capture it with the camera.
The sentiment is part of the set So Very Much by Penny Black. It's also been heat embossed and then cut out using a circle die. I've added a strip of dotted paper behind the sentiment. Patterned papers are from my stash, I think by DCWV. I finished off the card by adding some  Jute Twine.
Finally I mounted the card front on a  Neenah Linen Cardstock  base.
