I decided to go with the color blue, these birds were just asking to be inked up :-)
The stamp is Penny Black's Sweetest Sound, inked with Distress markers spritzed with water and stamped on Bristol Vellum paper using my Tonic stamp platform. I stencilled the background using Tim Holtz' Concerto stencil and distress ink. The border was inked with black memento ink (I simply wiped the inkpad over the edges). Heat embossed the sentiment (old and retired from Whimsy Stamps) using Versafine Onyx ink and clear embossing powder. Framed with white card stock and then used a retired Stampin Up blue color as a card base.
Sweetest Sound by Penny Black // Distress Markers // Bristol Vellum Paper // Tonic Stamp Platform // Memento Tuxedo Ink // Versafine Onyx Ink // Clear Embossing Powder // Whimsy Stamps Sentiment (no longer available)

DeleteYou are so talented with watercoloring! LOVE this card. Love anything with birds.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, but not so much talent needed here. Just color the stamp, spritz with water and press down on paper :-) I couldn't believe how easy these stamps were to use when I got my first ones of this kind.
DeleteWowwwwwwwwwwww! This is STUNNING! Loving the colors!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie!
Deletesuch fantastic stamping, I have tried but I mess up the water spritzing every time
ReplyDeleteMaybe too much water is coming out of the spray bottle? Try just huffing on the stamp. That usually works too, just turns out a little less "watercolor-y"
Deleteso pretty and such gorgeous colours too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn!
DeleteGreat use of those stamps, beautiful design and love the technique you used. I have tried this times ago, but mine has not came out good because of too much water (I think) :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you've had trouble with this technique. Sometimes it turns out too watery for me too, but I usually keep and use it anyway. Just gives it more of a watercolor look.
DeleteFabulous colours, beautiful card;-))m
