Thankful somethings

Happy Friday!!

This week our challenge at stamp something is called

thankful somethings.

For my card I used one of my own digistamps, little susie squirrel with acorn, from
Digital Stamp Oasis.

The image has been printed on couture 80lb card stock and then colored with derwent coloursoft and baby oil. I cut it out using a circle nestabilities shape. Edges were sponged using some bashful blue ink.

I embellished with some brown grosgrain ribbon, brads and punched out butterflies using a martha stewart punch. Tiny sticky pearls and stickles glitter were added to the butterflies.
The sentiment is from Stampin up.

I am also entering my card to these challenges
Our generous sponsor this week is Simon Says stamps and a wonderful prize is up for grabs, as usual! I hope you'll all join in.

Have a GREAT weekend!
Ellie.

DTC #66 - A color combo

Another week has gone by so quickly and here we are again with another fun digital tuesday challenge. Our hostess this week is the lovely Kristine and she has chosen a color combo as our challenge.

RED WHITE and BLUE

You can make anything you like - a card, scrapbook page, altered item, bag etc. It doesn't have to be patriotic. Anything works as long as there is a digi somewhere on your creation. I think these colors work GREAT for masculine cards.

My card uses an image that my husband drew, "at sea", it's available for $2 in my etsy store.

It's been colored using copic markers. Designer Papers are from my stash . I did a little bit of distressing and tearing on this card. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Our sponsor this week is My Grafico, they are giving away one of their many fun sets that the winner gets to choose and 30% off an order to one lucky winner. Hope you'll all play for a chance to win!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's gorgeous cards too!

Digital Stamp Oasis sponsoring Totally Papercrafts

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone's having a GREAT day!

I meant to post this early this morning, but then my son woke up with a temperature and he is home from school so I did not have the chance to do as I planned.

Digital Stamp Oasis is sponsoring "Totally Papercrafts" challenge blog this week and Emma asked if I'd like to join them as a guest designer for the week. Of course I said yes.
The challenge is an inspiration challenge and here is the inspiration piece. Isn't it delicious.

Of course I had to use my Sammy squirrel eats strawberries digi :-)

The image was colored using copic markers. I also used a white prismacolor pencils to add a few highlights. Edges were sponged using kiwi kiss ink (SU). Designer paper is something brand new that I picked up at my last trip to a local stamping store. I embellished with some paper flowers, ribbon, eyelets and glitter.

I used the sketch from sketch saturday.
My card also fits the papertake weekly challenge, with the theme flowers.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you liked the cards. And hopefully you'll be able to play this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge too for a chance to win some images from the Digital Stamp Oasis.

Recipe:
Stamps: digi-DSO, flourish-paper inspiration, sentiment-SU (mini mates)
Paper: Stampin Up very vanilla and Kiwi kiss, Designer Paper: quite contrary
Ink: kiwi kiss, hp inkjet, copics
Accessories: ribbon (SU), paper flowers (prima and punched), eyelets, stickles glitter

Vellum - Digital Tuesday Challenge #59

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge!

Our challenge this week, chosen by Michelle is

Vellum.

You don't have to print your digi on vellum, as long as you use it somewhere on your creation is fine with us. I hope you'll play along. If you are like me you have some vellum somewhere in your stash but haven't used it in - like forever! Glad I had the chance to dig it out!

And here's my card. My vellum is the embossed circle behind the image, and I also stamped the sentiment on vellum.

My card uses the image "Mushroom Lane - butterfly" from Digital Stamp Oasis. It's one of my favorites. I don't know why, but I have really been using many images with mushrooms recently. I just love mushroom images I suppose.

Papers are from stampin up and K&company. I adhered the image to a vellum circle that I embossed using a cuttlebug folder. The sentiment was also stamped on a piece of vellumd and attached to the card front. I planned on adding some dew drops to hide the glue dots, but forgot to do that before I took the picture. I embellished with some red ribbon, prima flower and flourish, and of course I had so add some stickles too. Oh, and I decided the card needed some zigzag stitches, so I got out my janome mini sewing machine.

My card also fits the ABC challenge (theme: unused stash), La-La Land (theme: anything goes), Crafty Ann's Challenge blog (theme: anything goes also), Cute Card Thursday (theme: for someone special).

I hope you like the card. Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's work, it's just gorgeous! Hope you can play along this week for a chance to win 3 digis from the Digital Stamp Oasis.

Recipe:
Stamps: digi -Digital Stamp Oasis, sentiment - SU
Ink: HP inkjet, bashful blue, memento tuxedo black, copics for coloring
Paper: Stampin Up, K&company, vellum
Accessories: grosgrain ribbon (SU), prima flower, stickles, flatback pearl, paper flower, flourish
Tools: janome mini sewing machine, swiss dots embossing folder, circle nestabilities, big kick, flower trio punch, flourish sizzix die

DTC #53 --- Wishing you the best

Happy Tuesday everyone!!Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend with some sunshine. We had lots of fun watching the kids hunt for easter eggs in the backyard and trying out their new roller skates.

Today's card is for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge with a color theme: Blue and white + one other color of your choice, chosen by our hostess Suzie. What a fun challenge!

The color of my choice is red, I thought the color combo would be great to use with the image "Flying High" from Digital Stamp Oasis.

I colored it with copic markers. Papers are from Stampin Up and DCWV. I used a nestabilties shape for the image and the mat. Embellished with some eyelets and ribbon. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

That's it for today. Hope you liked the card. And if you're up for a challenge using blue and white +one, why not join us at digital tuesday?

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, have a fantastic day!!

Designer Spotlight Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope everyone's day is going great!

It's time for another Digital Stamp Oasis Designer in the Spotlight here on my blog.

Please meet Jennifer S.

from

Just Coffee please... and stamps and ribbon and paper

Hi! My name is Jennifer Scull, and I am a 45 year old papercraft addict! :) But really, I have been doing papercrafts for about 10 years. I started as a scrapbooker, but went to that ONE stamping party like many of us and haven't stopped making cards since! grins! I really really love the vintage/shabby style, but tend to throw in that touch of whimsy when I get the chance. You never quite know what might pop up on something I make! :) I have to have my ribbons and trims, well, and the buttons and primas, goodness, pretty much just embellies in general! giggles!
My family is truly quite supportive of my habit. I have been married for 23 years to my college sweetheart and have 3 teenage boys. We live in northeast Ohio in a quaint little village right in the heart of maple syrup country and the snowbelt. My house is a comfy century home complete with a barn full of cats and 2 big labradors. We truly couldn't be happier!"

Designer Spotlight - Fonda D.

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to another "Designer spotlight".

***********************************************

Please meet

Fonda D.

from

Southern Scraps

"My name is Fonda and I live on the coast in South Georgia. I've dabbled in crafts since I was a child. I loved to make gifts for everyone. Sometime between 2001 and 2003, I took an interest in paper crafting. The internet opened a whole new world of inspiration for me. Hubby (who was my boyfriend then) bought me a paper trimmer and some supplies and well, he's still buying them and fueling this addiction. At least he knew before he married me, lol.

I've explored paper crafting with the computer and templates, scrapbooking, and stamping. I've come back to mostly stamping (traditional and digi) and cardmaking, although I still scrapbook some. I continue to grow and learn new techniques all the time. I work a full time job, so I don't get to "play" as much as I'd like, but I fit it in when I can."

Below is a sampling of some of Fonda's supercute creations using images by the Digital Stamp Oasis.

Such a fun card using the image

Digital Stamp Oasis sponsoring Totally Papercrafts

Happy Friday everyone!!
I am so excited to show you this card today. It's made using one of the 3 new digis available at the DSO etsy store. I just love this image drawn by my husband.

I am also very excited to tell you that Digital Stamp Oasis is sponsoring this week's challenge at the Totally Paper Crafts Challenge blog. They just started this year and they always have a great challenge scheduled! This week's challenge is "Things with wings". Of course I couldn't resist using this cute image.

I colored it with copic markers and applied some stickles glitter to the wings. Papers are all from SU (basic gray, white and designer paper which is retired).
I embellished with some prima flowers, brad, ribbon and punch outs using the Martha Stewart branch punch.
The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. I used my small oval punch (SU) for it and matted it on a same sized oval in basic gray card stock.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you liked my card and if you're up for a challenge why not check out "totally papercrafts".
Hope you all have a fantastic day and a even more fantastic weekend!!

Happy Hedgie for you - DTC#49

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you're having a good week so far and warmer weather too! The snow has been finally melting here, still a few patches here and there, but it is definitely going away.

Today the theme over at the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog, chosen by Michelle is

"Paper Piercing"

I love the look of paper piercing! So this was fun as I haven't done it for some time now.

My image is a brand new one from Digital Stamp Oasis. I just released 3 brand new images, one is this "Happy Hedgie", there's also "costume kids - bunny" and "costume kids - bee". I think they are so cute and perfect for spring themed cards.

Image was colored with copic markers. I sponged with bashful blue ink around the edges to soften it a little. I embellished with some flowers, leaves, buttons, ribbon, and pearls and did some paper piercing. The designer papers are from my stash, I have no clue who the maker is. Other papers are Stampin Up's bashful blue, basic gray and GP white.

In addition to the Digital Tuesday Challenge my card also fits the following challenges

Friday Sketchers - sketch
saturday spotlight - friendship
dare U 2 digistamp - pearls
PaperPlay challenges - just because
cupcake craft challenge - flower power
stamp with fun - spring

I am getting really good at combining challenges thanks to the Daily Dare blog!!

Thanks so much for visiting me today. If you're up for a paper piercing challenge why not join us at digital tuesday for a chance to win some images from the Digital Stamp Oasis? We'd love it if you join us!

Designer Spotlight - Sandy O.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

As you might (or might not) know, I have chosen a new Design Team for Digital Stamp Oasis and thought it would be a fun idea to feature each one of the Designers here on my blog. So for the next 6 weeks, every wednesday, I will have a special post here on my blog featuring one of the designers.

************************************************************************************
Please meet Sandy O.
from

Paper
Transformer.

"I am a stay at home mom with an empty nest as of last December. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart as I have been for the past 25 years. I have 3 children Alicia (25), Peter (24) and Patrick (23). A wonderful son-in-law James (25) and a brand new grandbaby boy Camden (6 weeks)
I spend much of my days paper crafting, blurffing, reading and posting on forums, searching and trying new techniques and challenges, feeling slightly guilty that the dishes are dirty and my husband wore his last clean t-shirt to work today. I also try to keep daily posts on my own blog www.papertransformer.com.
I have been stamping for 3 years this month. What happened 3 years ago to change my life? Well, I was having a home tea party and the demonstrator mentioned that she was having a combined tea/stamping party at her house. I can’t believe it even today, but I invited myself, LOL. I had always been curious about how people made such lovely things with rubber stamps. That was my first exposure to Stampin’ Up, rubber stamps and paper crafting. I signed up to be a SU Demo right away and received my kit the last week of February.
I was introduced to digital stamps 11 months ago through Digital Stamp Oasis. I love the adorable images of the squirrels and the wonderful sketch images which Digital Stamp Oasis carries. It now seems that my rubber is getting a bit dusty, as I learn the in and outs of digital images."

Below is a sampling of Sandy's gorgeous work using images from the Digital Stamp Oasis.

A beautiful envelope book tin using the image

DTC #45 - it's all about the animals

Happy Tuesday everyone! We have a new challenge over at the Digital Tuesday Blog. I am the hostess this week and the challenge I chose is "All about the animals." I hope you'll join us!!

Here is my card for that challenge. I used the cute Susie Squirrel in the rain image from Digital Stamp Oasis. After coloring it with copic markers I cut it out because Susie wasn't in the mood for rain today. LOL.

Card stock is from Stampin Up, designer papers from Basic Grey and Stampin Up. I distressed all edges for a vintage feel. I embellished with brads, ribbon, lace, paper flowers and buttons, a heart charm and some flourishes which were done with a sizzix die that I got from Michaels art store.
I had a few challenges in mind when I made this card, so here they are:

1, Basic Grey - sketch
2. All sorts - Get distressed with buttons and a bow
3. Dare you to digistamp - hearts and/or valentines
4. Cute Card Thursday - Dots and spots
5. stamp with fun - hearts

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you'll have time to play along for a chance to win some digis from the Digital Stamp Oasis. Have a GREAT day.

DTC #44 - A new fold

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you're having a GREAT day and not too cold weather. It's been ok here, I am not quite ready yet for spring. I want to build one more snowman with the kids before the season is over.

I am however in the mood for more springy cards! I made this card for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge. Anjou is hour hostess and she wants us to try a different fold. While I searched the web of what to do, I came across the flap card and remembered that I wanted to do one before but then forgot about it. So here was my chance. It was actually really easy to do. If you'd like make one of these cards here is the link to the SCS tutorial by Rose Ann.
My card ended up being square though as I goofed with the measurements.

open view

Since I have been neglecting my Susie Squirrel images from the Digital Stamp Oasis for quite some time now, I decided to use one. It was colored using copic markers. Papers are from Stampin Up (chocolate chip and bashful blue prints). I embellished with some punched out flowers, tiny flatback pears, ribbon and stickles for the flowers. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. The cards stays closed with a small magnet button which I picked up at the local craft store. (Be sure to get the heavy duty ones because I know from experience that the other ones don't keep the flap down when the card is supposed to be closed. )

This card also fits these two challenges so I will be entering it too.
Cupcake Craft Challenge - four legged and furry
Cute Card Thursday - blooming gorgeous

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll play along with this fun challenge. We have a new sponsor too this week - Bee Crafty. They have some really cute digis in store.
