Summer Days are Moments to Treasure

Busy day on the blog today as this is my second post for today sharing my card for the new Allsorts challenge. This week's optional theme is "Summertime" so we would love to see anything summer related, but all of your new creations are welcome and hopefully you'll join in with us!

There are some fabulous prizes up for grabs for the July challenges. As always winners will be selected from the weekly challenges but announced just once a month. This month we have prizes fro Oakwood, Sizzix, AALL and Create and Craft Stash. Speaking of prizes, don't forget to check the challenge blog for the June prize winners which was posted on Friday!

Does anyone else have a box full of  images stamped or printed years ago and collecting dust or is it just me? Well, this little cutie I found in that box, it's an image from Cuddly Buddly I colored him with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils then used a circle die to cut it out. Paper is from my stash, one of my favorites also from years ago, no wonder I've been hoarding it and this might be the last piece big enough for a card front. I'm sure there are still some smaller snippets left.

Originally I wanted a yellow background paper and tried making my own using Squeezes Lemonade Distress ink and a Lavinia stencil but I didn't like the brightness of the yellow so I used just 2 strips of it on the card.
Continuing with the oldies on this card, both sentiments are from Whimsy Stamps also from many years ago, so fun to rediscover some old stuff from my stash!

The die cut flowers are part of Penny Black's Frame Die Set. I applied stickles glitter to the flower centers and bee's wings.

Challenge I'd like to share the above card with:

Cupcakes, Cakes and Sweet Treats for Allsorts 408

Hello! It's time already for a new challenge at Allsorts. It's Tracy's turn to host this week, and she chose the theme of Cupcakes, Cakes and Sweet Treats. Another fun theme and we have two great prizes to give away too!

I thought this cute image from Cuddly Buddly would be perfect for this occasion.

It's been colored using Faber Castell polychromos pencils on Neenah Solar Crest card stock and I used baby oil for blending. Designer paper is from Stampin Up (retired) and sentiments are both from Penny Black. Some machine sewing and jute twine finishes off the card.

Below is a closeup of the cute image!
The card is available in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

And finally here are the great prizes up for grabs this week...

I hope you'll decide to come play along with us at Allsorts for a chance to win!

Wishing you all a nice and hopefully sunny spring weekend!

Soooo many presents

I had this image sitting around forever but never had a chance to make a card with it. And since I really wanted to color today, I decided to make a birthday card too.

This is a digi from Cuddly Buddly. I was one of the lucky winners back when they still did challenges. And this was one of the images I picked as my prize. It's so cute and just perfect for boys cards.

I kept it pretty simple, since I don't really have too much time today, and I like simpler cards at the moment anyway.

The image was colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Papers are from Stampin Up, Neenah, and designer paper is from My Minds Eye. Did some sewing around the edges, and then I added some ribbon and a button with some linen thread.

The sentiment is from the set "Party mini letter seals" by Whimsy Stamps, another one of my favorite Whimsy Stamps sentiments.

I am entering this to the following challenges:

And that is all for today! Thanks so much for visiting!

Cuddly Buddly - Add a tag

Hello and happy weekend everyone! I hope you are enjoying where ever you may be! I know I am, love the little cooler temps and even enjoyed the rain yesterday!

I found some time yesterday to play, and since I had won some super cute Cuddly Buddly images a few weeks ago, I decided to play in their challenge again.

The theme this week is

"add a tag".

I made a very simple card, sometimes I am just overwhelmed by all the embellishments and layers, and on those days I go for a CAS look.

Here is my card.

The cut out the scallop shape and layered the image behind it. Then added a strip of designer paper from last year. The image was colored with derwent coloursoft pencils to match the paper. To finish it off I added some dazzling diamonds glitter, silver cord and punched out the sentiment and added it as a tag to the card.

I'd love to enter this to the following challenges:
Before I let you go, I wanted to remind you about the Whimsy Stamps sale!

Say Something Nice

Hello and Happy Friday! Hope you are enjoying your day!

A couple of weeks ago I was the lucky winner of the Cuddly Buddly challenge and received a £10 gift certificate to use in the Cuddly Buddly Store. Have you been to their store?? They have so much to choose from, rubber stamps, digis, dies, punches...

I decided to add a few more digis to my cuddly buddly digi stamp collection, and here is my first card made using one of my new digis, and I followed the theme of this week's cuddly buddly's challenge:
"Say something nice".

This image is by Pachela Studios Toby Tumble special friends.

Loved coloring this! I used my derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil. Papers are from My minds eye. I embellished with punched out flowers and leaves using a Martha Stewart punch, some sticky pearls, ribbon, button, silver cord and glitter. And then I sewed around the edges.

Here is a close up of the cute image.

I am combining the following challenges with this card:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your weekend!

A Cuddly Buddly Cutie

Happy Thursday everyone!
I have been working on this card yesterday and really wanted to get it finished, but then ran out of time, because I had to work all afternoon/evening long.

I wanted to play in this week's Cuddly Buddly Challenge. They have such cute images!! For my card I used an image from Pachela studio.

Isn't this image adorable!! Loved coloring it. I used derwent coloursoft pencils and then baby oil for blending. Papers are from Stampin up. The colors are some of my favorites, and I just love this designer paper. Too bad it's retired and no longer available.

I embellished with some prima flowers, button, brads, silver cord, and then a little bit of glitter on the party hat and flowers. To finish it off I did some sewing with my janome mini. Oh, and the sentiment is from a Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp set "mini party letter seals".

Here is a close up of the image.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:
And that is all for today. Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!!

Word Play Weekend #11

Hello and welcome to another challenge here at Word Play Weekend!
I hope you are enjoying your last weekend in July and have some fun things planned too!

My son finally seems to be recovering from his tonsillectomy. He ended up having some bleeding when the scabs came off and it was very scary. But we did what the doctor told us and were able to stop the bleeding after a few minutes. And now he is finally able to eat more things again!

This week the "word" I chose is

Sparkle.

And I finally found some time to create my own card.
I wanted to use an image from Cuddly Buddly so I could combine it with the Cuddly Buddly Challenge.

Products used:
Stamps: digi-Wee Stamps, sentiment - Stampin Up
Papers: Stampin Up bashful blue, Neenah white, Designer Paper from stash
Ink: memento tuxedo black, bashful blue for sponging
Accessories: grosgrain ribbon, dazzling diamonds glitter, sticky pearls
Colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

Cuddly Buddly Challenge 1

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cuddly Buddly just started a new challenge blog and since I love Wee Stamps which are also being sold there, and just discovered and fell in love with their other digis too, I decided to play along for a chance at winning.

The theme for their first challenge is

A brand new...

It could be a Wedding, New Baby, New Home, New Job, New Year or even a new craft tool, etc.
I had this image from when it was first released, but haven't had a chance yet to use it. I hope it counts as my brand new, but it could also be a brand new year in someone's life since it's a birthday card.

Here is my card.

The image I used for today's card is Suzie with Bunny. Isn't it adorable!!

I colored the image last night when everyone was sound asleep but had to wait until morning to finish it, because I didn't want to make so much noise with my sewing machine.

I colored with derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil, and then some copics for the skin. Papers are from Stampin Up, retired designer paper - my favorite and I am running low on it :-(
I applied some glitter to the designer paper and to the image itself. The border punch is Martha Stewart Lace border. I've had these large prima flowers forever, they are just so huge, I never really use them, but thought it worked great to use behind the sentiment.
To finish off the card I did some distressing around all edges and sponged with turquoise ink.

Here are some challenges I am combining here:
Ok, found lots of challenges to combine again, thanks to Feline Playful!

It's a birthday theme

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you're having a fantastic day. It is very cold here in Illinois so I am happy to be able to stay in this morning!

Today's card is for this week's digital tuesday challenge. Maria chose the theme "Happy Birthday" for us. Make a Birthday something. It was so nice to make a non-christmas card for a change!

My digital image is from "Cuddly Buddly" And it is actually a freebie. I knew I wanted to use this image right away when I saw it. I made it for my kids to give to their dad on his birthday.
I colored it using copics. The elefants ears were popped up with dimensionals.

All papers are from stampin up, the sentiment too.
I have a super busy day ahead of me, so that's it for today.

I hope you stay warm whereever you are and maybe you'll find some time to join us with the challenge for a chance to win some goodies from Ildi Co. - our sponsor of the week.
