Christmas Elf

Hello and welcome! It's Saturday meaning a new challenge starts today at Allsorts and Lorraine (Lolo) is hosting this week. Her theme, which is optional is Christmas Time, so if you haven't started yet with your Christmas cards then this is your chance! Almost time to send them off!! Of course the Anything Goes option is there too, so hopefully we'll see you joining us this week! Prizes for the November challenges come from Stampendous and Oakwood Direct and WOWVOW and winners will be announced on the last Friday of the month.

Here is what I made with an image inspired by a couple of other Christmas challenge I found.

This cute image is a Penny Black stamp (Little Elf Present) illustrated by Mo Manning. It was part of a mixed lot I purchased from the resale site Mercari earlier this year and my first time using. I was inspired by the Christmas Craft Creations challenge where the theme is Hats and I thought this image was a perfect choice. I'm not sure why this stamp seems to be so rare... I did find one listing of it on eBay and another on Mercari, and Mo Manning should have it in digi version for those who prefer that.

At the current Christmas Kickstart challenge the theme is Christmas, but not as we know it, which inspired the non-traditional colors. The skirt and hat were paper pieced from some patterned paper scraps, the rest of the elf colored with Copic markers. I was really hoping to find a bigger piece of the same patterned paper to mount the image panel on but could not find any more of it in my stash, so I chose some polka dotted paper instead. I embellished with some small punched circles and Stickles glitter.

For sentiments I chose a larger verse from the Penny Black set Season's Gifts and "Happy Holidays" is from a Stampin Up set I found at a thrift store.

Below are the challenges I plan to link up with (this list includes the two I mentioned above):

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - October

Hello and welcome to the October Crafty Wednesday Challenge taking place right here on my blog! I'm so glad you stopped by today and hope you'll decide to join in the fun too! There were some fabulous entries last month, thank you all for sharing your crafty creations! As always you can scroll down to see who made the "top picks with a twist".

I'm sure most of you know by now, the theme is now always............

Anything Goes

and instead of a challenge theme there will be a top pick twist, meaning the top picks will each have something in common. But nobody knows what the twist will be (not even me) and will be inspired by YOUR creations. So do link up all your new or recently created crafty makes (any type of craft) for your chance to have your project featured next month! The linky tool is at the end of the post.

And here is my inspiration for October:

This Penny Black cutie illustrated by Mo Manning - Pumpkin Ride is new-ish to me, it was part of a stamp lot I purchased a few months ago from the resale site Mercari and this is my first time using it. I love these non-traditonal colors for this time of the year just about as much as I love the bright fall colors and I was inspired by some decorative fall pillows I purchased last fall :)

Related Products:

I used distress inks for some simple watercoloring. I cut a mask for the image so I could stencil around it and used Lavinia's Feather Leaf stencil because they remind me a bit of vines.
To add more interest, my new Aall and Create Miniatures stamp set came in so handy with the wonderful wording and ants are also from this set. I found the "print" pattern paper in my stash of scraps and although I have no idea what it says, I thought it fit the rest of the card really well so I added it to the top. The sentiment is one I selected from Tim Holtz's Small Talk sticker booklet.

I Spy With My Little Eye: A Sweet Treat or Warm and Sunny Colors (Challenges 4 and 5 Combined)

Hello everyone! Pauline and I are back again with a new "I spy with my little eye" challenge taking place right here on my blog!

Before I get to the new theme I wanted to mention that this is a "double challenge" to cover part of the Summer so it is for challenges #4 and #5 combined. The linky tool will remain open until August 13th and a new theme will then start on August 16th!

We had some fabulous entries in the last challenge so be sure to scroll down to the end to see if your entry made one of our top 2! Remember, the top picks are invited to join us as guest designers in a future challenge!

So here are our themes for challenges 4 and 5. Choose one or the other or even combine.

I spy with my little eye.....................

A Sweet Treat (chosen by Ellie)

or

Warm and Sunny Colors (chosen by Pauline)

And here are our shares for your inspiration:

My card (Ellie)
following the "Sweet Treat" theme

Can you spy the sweet treat??
This cute stamp is a Mo Manning stamp for Penny Black - Oh My Goodness. I thought it was perfect for the theme.  Stamped on Bristol Vellum paper and I colored with Stampin Up and Distress Inks and I used one of my most used stencils - Feather Leaf by Lavinia on the background. Sentiment on the tag is an oldie from Whimsy Stamps. I used a tag die (options) to cut it out and tied it onto the card using natural jute twine. Another stencil (classy stripes) was used on the top pink border with the same coral Stampin Up ink. I added another small sentiment which is part of a Colorado Craft Company stamp set. A corner rounder was used to complete the card.

A Frosty Farm Scene

Year in Review 2022 - Favorite Creations of the Year *Blog Hop* and a Small Prize Giveaway

Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope it will be a happy and healthy one for you!

I am here bright and early with my design team card for the Four Seasons January challenge where we are in the middle of "Winter" so come join us with all your winter themed creations! We have a fabulous optional mood board (see above), you may use it or  not. Of course my card was completely inspired by it. Maybe I took it too literal but I love how it turned out!!

I created a farm like winter scene using stamps from Penny Black (Snow Blanket, Nature's Gifts) Lavinia Stamps (Seasonal Tree, Winter Magic) and a digi from Mo Manning. I've had this cute sheep image for a long time, somehow never used it before. This is one of her very early digis.

The fence and branches in the foreground were stamped using Pumice Stone ink and the tree on the right side using Ground Espresso ink. I fussy cut the sheep after printing (it is part of a hillside scene which I did not use here). The sheep on the image is holding flowers in its mouth, I cut those off but the stems are still there so lets pretend those are branches :)

The words on the background are by Lavinia. I used Hickory Smoke ink to stamp them. A few die cut snowflakes using Penny Black's Dancing Snowflakes die set were added along with some rhinestones. I used a clear glitter Sakura gel pen to highlight the snow on the fence and branches.

As always, the challenge runs until January 25th, so there is plenty of time to join us!

Thanks so much for visiting!

In case you haven't heard... I'm co-hosting a year in review blog hop along with a group of other crafters where we share our favorites of 2022 and I have a prize giveaway too. Hope you'll stop by to check it out! Prize giveaway ends on January 6th.

Being Fabulous Comes Naturally

Hello and welcome!

I have a new card to share today for the new Allsorts challenge theme, this week hosted by Lynn. Her theme for the week is "So Girly". As always we'd love for you to join us for your chance to win! We have two Aall and Create stamp sets to give away this week!

And here is what I made:

This is a "new to me" image from Mo Manning - Wall Girl, as I wanted to make a card for a teenage girl and this one caught my eye when I was browsing Mo's shop. This image comes with a colored graffiti  brick wall but they are separate and I only used the image and stamped my own wall instead which happens to be a Mo Manning rubber stamp from Penny Black - Brick Wall

She's been colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and fussy cut. I added a die cut circle from Penny Black's new die set Soaring

You may also like:

The script paper is from my stash and I have no idea what brand it is. Sentiments are oldies from Whimsy Stamps, think they work so well for teenage girl cards and it's a shame they are discontinued along with the ticket die I used. Some more paper scraps were added to the bottom right as I messed up and needed something covered, then I added the button as well. The two black brads were already there and planned so it might look like too much going on there now... not much I can do about it though!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Clara and the Nutcracker Card

Hello and welcome!

It's Saturday again and that means a new theme starts at Allsorts challenge. Our theme this time around is "For the Girls". So anything feminine goes. Our prizes are a beautiful Tattered Lace die and a wonderful Woodware stamp set, so there will be two winners! Hope you can join us this week!

The image (Mo Manning - Clara) has been colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils then fussy cut. I made the background using the Circle Explosion stencil and Antique Linen Distress ink, and I also inked up the bottom portion for a floor using a sheet of printer paper as a mask for a straight line. The red patterned paper was a perfect match for the Nutcracker to bring in some more red, then I added a strip of brushed gold card stock to the right side. Some gold cord (options) completes the card.

The sentiment is an oldie from Whimsy Stamps and long retired, stamped using Versafine Onyx ink.  It's been stamped using Versafine Onyx ink

And here are this week's prizes - a Tattered Lace die and Woodware stamp set.

Thanks so much for visiting!

DTC #77 It's all about the girls

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for visiting me today.
It's time for another challenge at Digital Tuesday. It's Lora's turn to host and this week she wants to see

All things girly

Super fun and easy, we all like to make girly cards right, so hope you all join in!!

For my card I used my other brand new (to me) Mo Manning image, Strawberry girl. Got it a few weeks ago and since I hadn't used it yet I decided to use it today.

It's been printed on couture 80lb card stock and colored using derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil and copic markers for her skin.

I wanted to enter my card to this week's Mo's Digital Challenge, with the theme "bright white" so I did not use any designer papers and all my layers are white. I did add a red butterfly underneath the white one for some shading.

The papers were embossed using my big kick and a couple of cuttlebug embossing folders. I added some stickles glitter around the image, strawberries and embossing. Then paper pierced around the image. To finish the card off I added a few pearls and white grosgrain ribbon.
My sentiment was a freebie I received from Funky Kits with my order.

In addition to digital tuesday and Mo's digital challenge my card also fits the following challenges
This week it's my turn to sponsor the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog with Digital Stamp Oasis. The winner gets to choose 3 digis from my etsy store.
And since I didn't use a digi from DSO for my design team card I am going to show you here a card that I made a few months ago using the image "Costume kids-bee". It think this image would be so cute to use for a halloween card or to make a tag for a halloween treat bag.
Info for this card can be found here.

That is all for today, I do hope you will join in this week's digital tuesday challenge. And be sure to check out the rest of the design team's projects. They are gorgeous - as always!!

Have a great day,

Pinned Post
