Penny Black at All Sorts - October Challenge

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy World Card Making Day!!

It's the first of October and that means we have a new challenge for you over at Penny Black at All Sorts.

Proud Designer for

This month we have an inspiration challenge for you. Here is the inspiration picture.

October inspiration

I am so excited to show you the card I made for this month's challenge!! I used the stamp "Butterfly suite" from Penny Black, I think it was released earlier this year. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it and when I placed my PB stamps order I knew I had to have this one for sure!

Photobucket
Of course once I got it I didn't know really how to use it, as it is so different from my other stamps. I had it sitting in the stamp drawer for some time. When I was thinking about this month's challenge I knew I was going to use this stamp. And finally I somehow remembered the shaving cream technique, that I did maybe once or twice a long long time ago. I thought this stamp would be perfect for the technique.
It's really such a simple technique and love the results. If you'd like to find out how to do it, simply click this link to Beate's tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. She has it pretty well explained.

The card is pretty simple, I simply framed the image with a nestabities "negative" shape, did some paper piercing around the edge, and added some glitter to the butterflies and some sticky pearls.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamp Set "Autumn Letter Seals" by Raindropecho Designs. It was just one of the words I punched out from one of the sentiments from the set. Oh, and speaking of Whimsy Stamps...don't forget today is Whimsy's October digital stamps release day. Plus, for today only all digital stamps at Whimsy Stamps are 50% off in honor of World Card Making Day.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you'll find some time to play along at Penny Black at All Sorts this month. As usual we have some amazing prizes up for grabs. And don't forget you can enter up to three times with a new project for more chances to win!

  1. I love this image Ellie. It is so versatile and you have used perfect colours for the Autumn theme. Just stunning. I love the pricked edges too. Pricking, for me, is very theraputic.
