Playing with ink

I treated myself to some new stamps recently, so I decided to get a little inky today. My card has been heavily inspired by creations made by Heather Telford. She does amazing work using Penny Black stamps.

The stamp I used is called "Winter Ledge" by Penny Black. I created the snowy hills background by cutting "hills" freehand and using them as masks. I used an ink applicator tool to apply the ink. (I used distress and SU inks).  I also punched a little circle that I used as a mask for the moon.

The sentiment is from the set "Winter Letter Seals" by Whimsy Stamps. I used one of Whimsy's dies to cut it out, but trimmed a little bit off from the top and bottom of the die cut. The ribbon I  used is night of navy from SU. I sprayed the card with glimmer mist before adhering it to the card base.

I'd like to play along in a few challenges:

  20. I have this stamp too! I propose that it is one of only a few stamps in my collection that always makes a great work of art and yours is no exception. The combo of of a strong blue with white and black is powerful. This is a lovely card and I compliment you sincerely.
