Happy Birthday - 2 cards

This is my second post for today, just scroll down to see the first post :)
It's time for a new challenge over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge blog and this time we'd like to see you use a sentiment somewhere on your card. I needed to make a couple birthday cards for two soon to be 9 year olds, and this new sentiment set "Happy Birthday" from Whimsy Stamps was just perfect for the occasion.

I used the same sketch on both cards, just changed up the color scheme and added a button on one and flower on the other one.

First up the card for the boy - I sure hope he doesn't mind hearts and glitter :-)

And then here is the one for the girl.

What a fun little sentiment set!!
As you can see I colored the cupcakes with copic markers. Designer papers are from my stash, probably by Bo Bunny for the boy card and MME for the girl card. I think the horizontal stripes work very well with the design. Glitter was added to the hearts. The little banners on the right side were cut using Whimsy's Contest Ribbon Die set. Flowers are by Prima, twine from the Twinery.

Here is a look at the complete set:

I am also playing along here:
Brown Sugar –  Use a bow and a die cut
(contest ribbon die set used for banners on right side)
Crafty Catz - For the Boys (first card)
Simply Create Too - - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge -  Anything Goes

There is a wonderful prize up for grabs, so hopefully you'll be able to join us this month! Don't forget you may use any stamp company, it doesn't have to be from Whimsy Stamps.

Thanks for visiting!!

Happy stamping!!

  4. I love these, Ellie! I'm always looking for kid card ideas, but this layout could be used for adults, too! I'm filing this away as wonderful inspiration for using up that hoarded patterned paper of mine! Thank you!! Hugs, Darnell

  5. What a cute cupcake. I love the heart on top. The patterned paper changed the look so much and shows how the same set can be so versatile.
