Under the Sea

If you are  here to join Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday challenge please click HERE or simply scroll down three posts.

Last Friday I received my Hero Arts March My Monthly Hero kit and yesterday I finally found some time to get inky. You may  have read in a previous post that I wanted to make a shaker card, well, turns out I don't have any acetate sheets so instead I made a more traditional card using this gorgeous kit.

Using Bristol Vellum Paper for the background, I inked it up with the reactive ink cubes that were included in the March kit and flicked some water onto the ink making it react to the water. These inks are similar to the Distress inks and react to water the same way. Next I stamped the jelly fish using reactive sea glass ink from the kit and sprinkled it with  Sparkling Sea  embossing powder which was an Add-on item this month.  Underwater castle, fish and seahorses are also from the march kit, I used hickory smoke distress oxide ink for the castle, candied apple distress oxide for the seahorses and reactive blue water (stamped off once) for the little fish.

The cute sentiment was stamped using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The aquarium frame die is the main die included in the kit. It's a very intricate die that required another piece of card stock as an extra shim with my big shot machine. Scor tape was perfect to use to attach the frame to the background. To finish of the card I added some yellowish -orange fin sequins from this Seashore Sequin Pack  to  the card. The dew drops are part of the kit and make a perfect embellishment.

This cute kit is currently still in stock at Hero Arts and as usual kits are $34.99 plus shipping. (Or get it shipped for free with an order of $50 or more within the US.)  This is what the complete kit looks like:

March Kit Now Available!

Kit subscriptions are also available and when you are a subscriber your kit and any add-ons  will ship for free, but when you subscribe you will actually begin your subcription with the April kit,  not this one. You can read more here about how the kit subscriptions work.
