Hello and welcome to the October Crafty Wednesday challenge right here on my blog! I'm so glad you decided to check it out! Before I get to the new theme I wanted to thank all of you that decided to play along last month. Some wonderful creations and lots of inspiration! Be sure to scroll down to the end of this post to see if you were the lucky prize winner or a top pick. As always, the linky tool is also at the end of this post.

This Month's Theme

Stamp It!

This month it's all about using your traditional stamps (rubber or clear). You may still use digital products on your creations, but I ask that the focal point is hand stamped, this means you can use a large hand stamped sentiment with smaller digital stamps or papers, or you can stamp a focal image and use a digital sentiment on your creation. Should be an easy one I think. I can't wait to see what you will share this month!

It's been a while since I used the Hero Arts September 2018 stamp kit. Since this kit is fall themed I decided it's time to ink it up and use the matching dies that came with this kit. I don't know if I'm a lazy card maker of what...but I always find matching dies too much to fuss with. Am I the only one??!! Well, after making this card it wasn't really that complicated or time consuming and I love how it turned out! Maybe I'm just too lazy to get off the chair and walk over to the die cutting machine :-)

I started out by masking the edges of a 4"x5.25" Bristol Vellum card stock with some Washi tape. (I like the width of Washi tape for this border, but you can also use painter's tape.) Next I inked the open area of the card stock with Victorian Velvet and Stormy Sky distress inks using Ranger's Ink Blending Tool. Have any of you used the new dome shaped ink blending applicators by Scrapbook.com? I recently heard about them and they sound promising. I always seem to get too much ink here and there when using the Ranger tool, and it sounds like these are easier to use.

When the inking was complete I added a stencil pattern with Stormy Sky distress ink to add some interest to the background. After this step I removed the Washi tape. All images are from the Hero Arts September 2018 Stamp Kit, stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then I heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. For coloring I used the Daniel Smith paint dots that were part of this kit and my Zig Detailer waterbrush. Before adding color to the images, I brushed over each image with clean water which makes it easier to add color.

All images were die cut using the matching dies from the kit and then adhered to the card with foam tape. The sentiment (also from this kit) was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink as well. To finish off the card I added a small strip of yellow polkadotted paper to bring in some more color. The card base is a 110 lb heavy weight card stock I recently picked up from Michaels. Their 110lb white card stock by Recollections works really well as card bases and it's s such a good value too using a coupon.  A clear wink of stella glitter brush was used to add some sparkles to the images.

  12. This is a very aesthetically pleasing design. The color palette is unexpected and your blending and stencil work is perfect. I love the brightness of your focal image against the darker background because it creates tension and therefore great visual interest! Thanks so much for sharing with us at A Place to Start!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
