Allsorts challenge 545: White on White

It's Saturday again, that means it's time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. Brenda is hosting this week and she picked the theme of "white on white". This one was definitely challenging to me, in fact I threw one card I was working on out (that hasn't happened to me in a loooooong time) and another one is sitting on the desk that was a reject as well ... it looked too "busy" to me so I made this one instead.

The dotted background paper was done with an old cuttlebug embossing folder. This one looks very similar but I'm not sure if it's the same. Everything else was die cut using Penny Black dies and my Big Shot machine (as I type this the  Big Shot Starter Kit it is marked to less than $80 which is a great deal if you're looking for a manual die cutting machine, but Amazon prices do tend to fluctuate so if you are interested, be sure to check the price), then adhered to the card using Scor TapePop Up Glue Dots (for the deer) and a Sakura  Quickie Glue Pen to adhere the words.

The beautiful sentiment die set was a gift from dear Brenda (thank you Brenda!) I left too much space between the words (to make it work because of the deer) so I added a stickyback pearl. A snowflake might have been more appropriate but the size I had didn't fit into the space. No glitter because the "rejected" card sitting on my desk I covered in glitter and that was part of why I didn't like it so I kept it simple with only the pearl as an embellishment.

  1. An exquisite card Ellie - love the single pearl embellishment, and that Swiss Dot embossing folder is one of my favourites too.

    1. It's always a good idea to step out of our comfort zones so no worries. White on white makes beautiful cards, I may try making another one.

  11. Not always an easy challenge theme, but if we don't challenge ourselves we won't know what we can achieve. I think you've done a brilliant creation.
