Anything with Wings for Allsorts Challenge

Hello and welcome! It's Saturday again that means it's time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge! Brenda is hosting this week with her chosen theme of "Anything with Wings". What a great theme with some great options of stamps to use! Our prize this week come directly from Brenda who bought the same stamp twice, lucky for one of our participants who will receive a beautiful Lavinia fairy stamp. It could be YOU so hopefully you'll play along with us!

I saw this challenge as another great opportunity to use one of my Lavinia stamps on a distress oxide inked background. Very easy and quick to do following Loll's Splash Watercolor technique on Bristol Vellum paper.

The hardest part is always waiting on the first splash of ink to dry before adding the second one. On this card I used Blueprint Sketch and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides for the inky background. After both layers of ink were completely dry, I stamped the faries using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink with the help of my stamp platform. I have the Tim Holtz one by Tonic, but it is no longer available. However there are alternatives on Amazon.  The magical fairy verse is also by Lavinia and the music notes is an old background stamp from Hero Arts. I think this stamp would be a great alternative. I had my sticky quotations stickers out from another project I've been working on and thought this would be a great fit for the fairy stamp. I layered it onto some striped pattern paper from my box of scraps and then onto a white heavy weight card base. Currently I use Michael's Heavy Weight Recollection brand for my white card bases.

Fairy and verse stamps by Lavinia (if you're in the US you can now buy them from Laviniaworld and there are also a couple of Lavinia retailers on Etsy)
Also used:
Hero Arts Music Notes Stamp (old - alternative option) // Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch // Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio // Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass (for music notes) // Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink // Tim Holtz Sticky Quotations //  Bristol Vellum Paper // Stamp Platform (mine is no longer available but there are other options // Craft Mat - Similar // HeavyWeight White Card Stock // Pattern Paper by DCWV (I think)
