A Hedgie Christmas in July

Hello and welcome!

This is a scheduled post so hopefully blogger will behave and post as scheduled.

This week Pauline is hosting at Allsorts challenge and she chose the theme of "Christmas in July", a perfect time for all types of crafters to begin their Christmas crafts! As always we'd love for you to join us for your chance to win, there are two prizes, a £15 voucher from Pearlywinks and a Sizzix die.

So here is my first Christmas card of the year:

I used a Penny Black hedgie from the set Holly Jolly which is older but oh so cute!! Colored with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and I used a circle Nestabilities die to cut it out, cropping off part of the circle.

Busy times so I kept the card CAS by simply using a favorite stencil - Penny Black Hypnotic - on the background with Twisted Lime and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks. I added some snowy frantage type loose flakes (similar option) for some faux snow. It's white/irridescent, not really pink although it appears there is some pink in it on the photo.

The sentiment is also by Penny Black from the set Festive Cheer, stamped directly onto the stenciled background using Versafine Onyx ink.

  1. A pretty design Ellie, as you say the Hedgie may be an oldie but so sweet and the mandela stencilling in the background so soft and subtle.
