Hoppy Birthday

Happy Friday to all of you!
I can't believe I managed to get a card done, I didn't feel like making anything all week. But my son needed a birthday card for this friend so I didn't have a choice - well, I guess I could have picked one up at the store, but no way will I do that while I got my own personal card factory with a one-person crew here at the house. (LOL - sorry I couldn't resist!)

It wasn't easy to figure out what image to use becauseI find it so hard to make a non-girlie card. But finally I decided to use a one-time favorite stamp set from stampin up -unfrogettable. I haven't used it in a long long time.

I found my sketch inspiration online and the color combo from an older SU simply scrappin' kit. The colors I used are (Stampin Up) confetti craft, tempting turquoise, pumpkin pie, real red, kiwi kiss and (GP) white card stock.
The frog was colored with a copic marker and cut out. I applied some green stickles to it for some sparkle. The sentiment was punched out with a 1 1/2 inch circle punch and mounted with a dimensional. I also used a dimenional to adhere the frog. To finish the card off I added the black gingham ribbon and did some paper piercing.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Hope you liked the card and hopefully the receipient will like it too!!
Have a fantastic weekend!!

  1. Ellie, I simply adore this card - it's simplicity is breathtakingly striking and I will definitely have to case this design (if that's OK?).

  2. Ellie the frog just seems to leap off the page at me.

  3. This is cute. And I know how you feel- "I HAVE TO make a card." The store is no longer an option. I would be so disappointed with myself and my family would think I had totally lost it if they now received a store bought card, lol.
