DTC #44 - A new fold

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you're having a GREAT day and not too cold weather. It's been ok here, I am not quite ready yet for spring. I want to build one more snowman with the kids before the season is over.

I am however in the mood for more springy cards! I made this card for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge. Anjou is hour hostess and she wants us to try a different fold. While I searched the web of what to do, I came across the flap card and remembered that I wanted to do one before but then forgot about it. So here was my chance. It was actually really easy to do. If you'd like make one of these cards here is the link to the SCS tutorial by Rose Ann.
My card ended up being square though as I goofed with the measurements.

Since I have been neglecting my Susie Squirrel images from the Digital Stamp Oasis for quite some time now, I decided to use one. It was colored using copic markers. Papers are from Stampin Up (chocolate chip and bashful blue prints). I embellished with some punched out flowers, tiny flatback pears, ribbon and stickles for the flowers. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. The cards stays closed with a small magnet button which I picked up at the local craft store. (Be sure to get the heavy duty ones because I know from experience that the other ones don't keep the flap down when the card is supposed to be closed. )

This card also fits these two challenges so I will be entering it too.

  2. Ellie, this is adorable. I love the way you added stickles to the flowers. It really make the image pop. I can see a coloring book being made out of it to go with the crayons.

Amazon sells really GOOD magnets that cost much less per magnet than the good ones at the LSS. If you look up magnets, they are from Magcraft. Just thought I would give you the heads up ;o)
