Center Step Card for Double Trouble Challenge

Hello and welcome!

Double Trouble challenge has a new Crazy Cousin! Me! I was invited to join the challenge as a guest designer (a.k.a Crazy Cousin) for the month of September. And today I'm showing you my first card. I will be back with a second card later this month for the second September theme at Double Trouble!

For those of you new to the Double Trouble challenge, here's how it works:

  • Thing one (Trouble Maker) will give you the  main (required) theme which this time is "Make a Fun Fold Card".
  • Thing Three (Twisted Sister) will give you a twist, which is optional. This time it's "Stamped Image and a Playdoh Color from the Playdoh Mascot above." (purple, red, green, blue, orange, and/or yellow)
  • Thing 2 (Double Dare) where you may link up your card with Creative Creases challenge if you made a fun fold card with a stamped image (optional).

Hope you'll join in the fun and don't forget to link up with Thing 2 (Creative Creases Challenge) too if you've made a fun fold card!

I made a Center Step card for my fun fold card. It's been a while since I've done one of these, but they are actually easy to make! I've included a link to this tutorial further down in the post.

This post may include some affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links. As always, this is at no cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting this blog!

The cute image is one of my newer Penny Black stamps, called Flying By. Stamped with Memento Tuxedo ink and colored with Copic markers. Thing 3 wants to see at least one Playdoh color on the image, I chose yellow and green.

The cloud die cuts were done with an old Memory Box die set. This set is probably long retired but there are plenty of cloud dies available.

I decorated my folded card with papers from my stash. These are all by Stampin'  Up, but I'm thinking at least 10 years old.

I stamped just the flower from the image two more times, colored and fussy cut to add to the card. The "hills" on the bottom of the card were done with an old die set from Whimsy stamps. This die set is similar. And if you look closely you can see some sparkles on the flowers. I once again used Hero Arts iridescent ink that came in the October 2018 My Monthly Hero kit. (No longer available).
