Partytime cat

Are you ready to party??? This cute cat, I call him Thomas after my little kittie, surely appears to be LOL.

Our theme today over at Stamp Something is

Glittery Somethings!

Super easy and if you are like me you'll probably add glitter to every single card! So no excuse not to play along!! And as usual we have a great prize up for grabs, this week Simon Says is our fabulous sponsor!!

I decided to use a digistamp from Whimsy Stamps Meljen's Designs for this challenge. I had purchased it when they had a sale last month but hadn't had a chance yet to use it. I thought it would be perfect with new years but since I don't sent out new years cards I decided to make it a birthday celebration card.

It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and then blended with some baby oil. The papers are from My Minds Eye (I think??) and Stampin Up. I embellished with some SU grosgrain ribbon, buttons and then of course glitter. It is however hard to see, but if you click on the card you will get a bigger picture! The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set, I masked the two words so I could use my word window punch to punch them out. To finish it off I did some sewing with my janome mini.

I had posted this picture of my cat before, but wanted to post it again for those of you that haven't seen it yet, so when I look at this image by meljen's I just have to think of my little Thomas. He is such a silly cat! And by the way, sometimes when he meows, it sounds like he's saying "mama". Really crazy!

Other challenges I am entering this to:

That is all for today, hope you are having a FABULOUS new year's eve celebration whatever you may have planned!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Penny Black at All Sorts project for the month of January!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #91 - Anything goes

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks for visiting me today!

How was your christmas? Mine was a little crazy, I had to get one last gift on Christmas eve, then ended up with a flat tire at the Mall. Good thing there is a place right there to get the tires fixed. But that is not how I planned on spending christmas eve morning, with 2 small children walking around the mall waiting on a car to get fixed. Thank goodness it was done in not too long.
Then on Christmas day I woke up with a bad case of pink eye on one eye...kids had it earlier in the week and decided to share it LOL. But other than it was a great Christmas and the kids loved their presents from Santa.

Enough of my boring life now and onto the project,
Maria is our hostess this week at digital tuesday and she chose something super easy, perfect for this busy time of the year!

Anything goes.

So there is no excuse not to play along! All you have to do is use a digi somewhere on your creation, that's it!

For my card I used a free digi from Sliekje's Digistamps. Have a you ever checked out her site? Lots of freebies and they are just adorable!

I colored the image using my derwent coloursoft pencils with baby oil. Stickles was applied to all of the hearts. The designer papers are all from Stampin Up, card stock is couture 80lb. I embellished with some Martha Stewart ribbon and silver cord, and then did some machine sewing and distressed the edges. The sentimet is from a old SU set, I punched it out using my word window punch (SU).

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop. Their sketches are always so much fun, and I was so excited when I saw my card from last week was featured on their blog for last week's sketch!!

That is all for today, I should be back again on friday with a new card! Hope to see you then!

Have a great day,

Ellie.

Let's Celebrate

Happy Tuesday everyone and thank you for stopping by today!

Are you all caught up with christmas preparations? I finally sent out the last of the cards on the weekend. Want to bake some more cookies and then I still need to get a few last gifts, wrap them all and then just enjoy the holiday! Can't wait to watch the kids opening their presents!!

Today our challenge at Digital Tuesday was chosen by the lovely Lorraine.

Let's Celebrate

is our theme. It doesn't have to be a New Year's celebration themed card, any type of celebration works!

For my card I used an image from Mo Manning. I was one of the lucky one's to get it as a freebie, it is now available for purchase at her store.

I decided to use the sketch from the sweet stop sketch saturday. What a fun sketch and super easy to work with. I am sure I'll be using it again!

My papers are all from Stampin Up, white is from couture. I embellished with some ribbon, a little flower with brad and then sewed the edges with my janome mini sewing machine. To finish it off I applied some stickles glitter to the designer paper and image.

Besides Digital Tuesday, I am also entering this card to:

Hope you get a chance to play along this week, Dustin Pike is our fabulous sponsor, and is giving away 3 of his cute digis to one randomly chosen winner.

That should be all from me for this week.
I would like to wish you all a

Merry Christmas

or

Happy Holidays

whatever you may celebrate!

Something with a tag or pocket

Happy Friday!
This week the challenge over at stamp something is

something with a tag or a pocket.

Whiff of Joy is our fabulous sponsor this week and of course there will be a fun prize up for grabs for one randomly chosen winner.

I received this cute image from an image swap I was in, it's called "Henry celebrating mouse" and can be found here.
I colored the image with derwent coloursoft pencils and then blended with some baby oil. Stickles was added to the cupcake. The edges were sponged using soft sky ink .
Designer paper is from DCWV (sweet stack), and card stock is from bazzill.
I embellished with some blue grosgrain ribbon, silver cord and buttons.
The sentiment is from the Penny Black clear set "Critter party". I used my SU tag corner punch to create the tag, added an eyelet to it with some ribbon and cord.

Here is a closeup of the image.

I used the sketch from this week's sweet stop sketch challenge. My card also fits Creative Card Crew's challenge with the theme of "anything goes", and at Totally Papercrafts the theme is "time to party", so I am entering it there too.

Hope you can join us this week, this challenge is actually open for 2 weeks, so you can enter until december 30th, and just a reminder, if you happen to use a Penny Black stamp, you might be able to combine it with this month's Penny black @ All sorts challenge which is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". We have several great prizes up for grabs there!

Now that should be all for today, hope you'll enjoy your weekend!

A little gift box

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

It's time for another challenge over at Digital Tuesday. This week it was Lora's turn to challenge us and she chose the theme

Sparkling Christmas

Our sponsor this week is Fairy Dust Crafts and the owner generously let the Design Team choose an image to work with. I went with Sammy Snowman. I was going to make a "snowman soup" in a baggie, then over the weekend I saw this gorgeous gift box that Vicki made for snowman soup, so I decided to try something new and make one of those. Thanks so much for the inspiration Vicki!! I have also used Maria's tutorial.

Along with the hot chocolate and candy cane I will be adding some hershey's kisses to the gift, along with a Border's gift card and then wrap it in cellophane.

The image has been colored with my derwent coloursoft and baby oil. Papers are from Bo Bunny (I think), card stock from Basill. I embellished with some grosgrain ribbon, a snowflake button with some silver cord and of course I applied lots of stickles glitter to the image and the snowflakes on the designer paper. It's terrible you can hardly see the sparkles for our sparkling christmas challenge, but I promise, it is very sparkly in real life.

I would like to add this to a couple other challenges:

I hope you find some time to play along at digital tuesday this week. I know most of you are probably done with christmas cards for this year, but you could always use another little gift for someone, or maybe you could make a gift tag, scrapbook page... or you could just work ahead for next christmas.

Hope you all have a fantastic day! Mine will be super busy, as all my tuesdays are!

Ellie.

Stamp Something

Happy Friday and thanks so much for visiting my blog today!
It's digiday again at Stamp Something! We have several amazing sponsors again, Wink Wink Ink, Whimsy Stamps, Some Odd Girl, Digi Doodle and Sassy Studio designs, which means several chances to win!!

I was able to choose a digistamp from Sassy Studio Designs. Lots of sassy girls to choose from!!

The image has been colored using derwent coloursoft pencils and copic markers. I would like to apologize, but my printer just didn't want to print out a good image this time.

I used papers from Basic Grey and Stampin Up. The flowers and leaves were made using a stampin up punch and sizzix die. I applied some stickles to the flowers, designer paper and the image itself. The sentiment is from a retired su set.

I hope you'll join us this week at stamp something, you can create anything you like, the only rule we have this week is that you must use something digital on your creation.

Oh, and don't forget, if you haven't played yet in this month's Penny Black at All Sorts challenge, be sure to join us. Several great prizes up for grabs again!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Challenge #88 - Baby it's cold outside

Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

We have another fun challenge over at Digital Tuesday, this week our theme is

Baby it's cold outside.

Very fitting for the weather we've been having here in the midwest recently. As always you can create anything, just be sure to use a digistamp somewhere on your creation.

Our sponsor this week is Whimsy Stamps and Denise from Whimsy generously gave the Design Team some images to play with. I decided to use the image "Skiing mouse" by Meljen's Designs, available at the Whimsy Stamps store.

The image has been colored with copic markers. I sponged the edges with some bashful blue ink before adhering it to the navy mat.

Designer papers are from a retired stampin up designer paper pack. I embellished with some ribbon, punched out snowflakes and stickles glitter. Also decided to use my sewing machine for some stitching. The flourish was made with a Tim Holtz die, and the sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set.

I am also entering my card to the following challenges:

I really hope you'll join us this week, the prize is going to be 5 digital stamps of the winner's choice from Whimsy Stamps. There are so many cute ones to choose from!!

Again, thanks so much for visiting my blog, hope you stay warm wherever you are!

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Christmas Angel

This month the challenge over at Sundays with Crissy is called "Christmas is coming" or "Winter is here". I bought this beautiful Angel image from Whimsy stamps when they had their amazing sale last month but hadn't had a chance yet to use it. This was the perfect opportunity.

This month Crissy is giving away one digital stamp to the first 12 entries. But it has to be a card made specifically for this challenge. I am so glad I found some time to make this!!

I decided to make a clean and simple card with it. The image has been colored using Derwent coloursoft and baby oil for blending. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the card front. The card front was popped up with some dimensionals. I cut out an oval with a nestabilies shape and then stamped the sentiment (stampin up) behind it. The image was cut out and adhered next to the sentiment. I added lots of stickles to the image and also the embossing but it is hard to see in the photo. To finish it off I added a sheer white bow.

I am also so very excited that I received the Artist's Choice award from Crissy Armstrong for my card for last month's challenge. Thank you so much Crissy!!

This is my second post for the day, be sure to scroll down for the first post using my brand new stamp from crafts UK for my Stamp Something Design Team card.

Have a great day,
Ellie.

Stamp Something with Christmas Colors

Happy Friday everyone and thanks for visiting my blog!

Stamp Something is back from a mini thanksviging break and we have a new challenge for you.

Christmas Colors
This can be any colors you interpret as christmas colors.

I chose to go with green, red and sky blue. They are the colors in the pretty Designer Paper that I used and match my image perfectly.

I am so excited to share this card with you today because I got to use my brand new stamp from Craft UK. I saw this beautiful card by Natascha using this image and I had to find out who makes it. Turned out I coudn't find a seller in the US so I went looking in the UK. I got the whole stamp set (Santa's and Penguins is the name of the set) for about US$7 which also included shipping charges from an ebay seller in the UK. I can't tell you how excited I was that I won the auction!!

The image was so much fun to color!

It did take me quite some time though to put the card together, the image is pretty big so it was a little challenging to work with. I actually think this stamp would be perfect for a simple, maybe even a one-layer-card.

For my papers I used basic grey designer paper and stampin up card stock. Image has been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil. I embellished with some punched out flowers using a retired Stampin Up punch (spring bouquet) and a Martha Stewart Punch (branch). I also added some silver cord (wish I had some gold cord instead), stickles in the colors stardust, gold and frosted lace. The flowers were sponged with white craft ink and the edges were sponged using soft sky ink. To finish it all off I did some machine sewing and distressed the edges.

Below is a closeup of the image.
I'd also like to enter my card to this week's Dutch Dare's challenge with the theme Christmas. Then Totally Papercrafts wants to see Christmas punches (I think the Martha Stewart branch punch would be that, right?)

I hope you'll join us this week at stamp something. Kut4U is back as our sponsor offering a fantastic prize to one lucky winner.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Happy December and thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

A new month means a new challenge over at
Penny Black at All Sorts.
Our theme this month is

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

We have some amazing prizes up for grabs again sponsored by the official Penny Black Company. To have a chance at winning all you have to do is make a card using a Penny Black Stamp for the main image and then follow our theme.

For my card I used the stamp "High Spirits". What a fun stamp to color!!

My image has been colored with derwent coloursoft and then some copics for the skin. The flourish in the corners comes from a clear Penny Black stamp set. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

I thought for our theme this month I'll go with a simpler card, using simpler designer paper and very few embellishments to focus on this gorgeous image.

The papers are from stampin up, white card stock from couture. I embellished with a flower which was made of a simple punched circle (distressed the edges),added a punched out flower (martha stewart punch) and then a button with some ribbon as the flower center. I distressed all of the edges and did some sewing with my janome mini sewing machine. To finish it off, I added some star dust stickles glitter. Also, the flower that the fairy is holding, and one of her wings, were stamped twice and cut out and then adhered with dimensionals, but it's kind of hard to see in the picture.

If you have any Penny Black stamps why not join us? You can enter up to three times with a new project for more chances to win!! And if you played last month, be sure to scroll down on the challenge blog to see if you were one of the lucky winners.

I'd also like to enter my card to these challenges:
I hope you liked the card. I will be back again on Friday with a new card for Stamp Something using a brand new (to me) stamp that I got clear from the UK.

Have a great day everyone!
Ellie.
