Something Old, Something New...for Allsorts Challenge

It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge! Kath is hosting this week and picked the theme of.......Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed or Something New.
She is not looking for wedding cards, although they would of course be just as welcome, you can pick from the challenge theme what you'd like to use or use all four. We have 2 prizes this time and to cover the Easter holiday the challenge runs for two weeks. Hope you decide to join us!

*Please note, this post includes affiliate links.

I decided to used everything from the challenge theme:
  1. Old Heart Embossing Folder
  2. New Digi Stamp
  3. A Borrowed Sketch
  4. Blue Ink

This is another image I recently purchased from  PowerPoppy and printed the "no line coloring" options. I'm not really familiar with coloring the "no line" way, and I didn't try to color that way, I simply wanted a lighter outline than black ink.

The image has been colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on 110 lb cardstock I recently picked up from Walmart which works perfectly in my printer. I used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die Set  to cut out the image panel.

The hearts embossing folder is an old one by Cuttlebug, but there are several choices available. The green pattern paper strip is from my stash, I believe it's another oldie from Stampin Up. Added some silk ribbon behind the image panel and cut out the sentiment using a small circle die. The sentiment is from a Penny Black set. A Martha Stewart punch was used to cut out the butterfly.

This sketch I found from Julee of Mojo Monday, it's an old sketch I came across on pinterest so I won't be linking it up there.

A close up below....this image took a long time to color, I spent several evenings on it.

Allsorts Challenge 520 and 521: Happy Birthday Allsorts Challenge!!

For the next two weeks at Allsorts challenge we are celebrating 10 years of challenges with a Birthday theme. This means we want to see birthday specific cards!

I've had this gorgeous image by Mo Manning on my wish list for a really long time, and this was the perfect opportunity to finally purchase it! It was one of her earlier images  released, and honesty I have no idea what took me so long!!  I'm sorry if these pictures aren't perfect. I struggled taking the photo inside, maybe it's because the card is larger than my usual card and my 8x8 photo tent wasn't a good fit for it. I had trouble with lighting and outside we had perfect sunshine, so I decided to photogragh outside. Now I feel like it's a little bit too bright...

This was taken inside ... I can't tell which one is better, but definitely like the "backdrop" on the first one more, but the glitter only really show on the photo taken inside.

I colored with Copic markers on Xpess It Blending Card. Still struggling with digis and copics (I need a better printer!) so not much blending I could do as the ink will smear. But isn't this image GORGEOUS!! I wish she came as a rubber stamp so I could watercolor her!

I used a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil  for a subtle background design with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The papers are from my stash, and the Happy Birthday sentiment I've had forever. It's from a Stampin Up set, but I separated the set and I don't remember the name of the set. I think the font is perfect for girly birthday cards. I found a flower shaped button in my box of buttons, and the color couldn't be more perfect, so I used it with some cotton twine. The tiny "make a wish" sentiment is from the Penny Black Snippets set. I distressed the edge of image panel and mat.

Both my wink of stella brushes are running low, so I used some liquid watercolor glitter that came in a past Hero Arts Kit (unfortuntely I don't remember which kit).  Also, I used the Hero Arts Limited Edition set for the back of my card (It's not a limited edition set, it's just the name of the stamp set). I love all the little stamps included in this set for the back of cards and it's only $7.99! You can see in the photo below how I used the set on this card.

Mo Manning Sugar // Penny Black Snippets // Birthday Sentiment by SU - Set Unknown // Hero Arts Limited Edition // Xpess It Blending Card // Copic Markers // Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Mesh // Antique Linen Distress Ink // Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink // Liquid Watercolor Glitter from a Hero Arts Kit // Pattern Papers from Stash // Cotton Twine from Stampin Up

Hope you can join us at Allsorts for our special 10th Anniversary Birthday challenge. This theme will run for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time. We have FABULOUS prizes to give away!

I am sharing with these challenges:
Mo's Digital Pencil challenge - For the Girls (or anything Goes)

Anything Goes:

Today would have also been the day to share a Penny Black and More mid-month creation. Unfortunately I didn't get to make a card for this month's midway reminder post (we had such wonderful weather and I NEEDED to get my vegetables planted because I knew lots of rain was going to follow those sunny days; in addition to that I've been working ahead on some June and July DT cards, so that kept me busy as well.

Please do grab our logo to display on your own blog

Anyway, this month at Penny Black and More our theme is Feminine Creations, but it's an optional theme, so it's pretty much "Anything Goes" as long as you follow the challenge rules. And we do have many wonderful prizes there as usual! We would love for you to join us there as well, and if you already have - remember you may enter up to 3 times for more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you're having a wonderful sunny weekend. Rain rain and more rain in our forecast again!

Imagine That Playground - Midmonth

Please click here if you are visiting for Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday Challenge.

It's time some mid- month inspiration at the Imagine That Playground. If you  have missed my first post for my Imagine That Guest DT spot, you can see those creations HERE. I did get to select two digi sets, and today I am sharing a card made with the cute set Ellie Tails. How sweet are those elephants!! I used the un-colored version, but this set also comes with colored versions, some pretty papers and wonderful sentiments to add to the banner.

Anyway, the Imagine That Playground challenge theme is "Anything Goes" and you have until June 5th to join in for YOUR chance to win a prize and maybe a Guest DT spot.

The white paper is Xpress it Blending card and copic markers were used for coloring the image. I used the gingham paper from the kit in turquoise (it also comes in pink and different pattern). The little die cut tag is part of Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches die set and the bundle of joy sentiment is from the Penny Black set Snippets, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on black card stock. I think crochet ribbon goes so well with baby cards, so I added some May Arts cotton crochet ribbon and striped twine. An old corner rounder was used on the bottom corners and the little heart came out from the Avery Elle's tag, I inked it with some distress ink and made it sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush, but it's really hard to see the sparkles in the photos. An old Stampin Up punch was used to create the scallop border, this die set would be an alternative to the punch, I really should be getting it as my punch doesn't work as well anymore.

Imagine That Playground Guest

Hello and Welcome!
Last month I was one of the Top Two winners of "Imagine That Creative Playground" and along with the prize comes an opportunity to be a guest designer for the following month's challenge. Today I am sharing two cards made with one of the sets I chose, and then I will have another share using the second set I selected on May 16th when the mid month challenge inspiration is posted on their blog. By the way, the theme is "Anything Goes" and I am sure the "Imagine That Playground" team would love for you to join in!

Would you believe I didn't own a wedding stamp set already!! This one was perfect! The set is called Wedding Day. The image has been colored with copic markers on Xpress It blending card. The sentiment is part of the set. I just love the font of this sentiment. The card is mostly CAS. After coloring the image I added an Art Deco type frame which was part of this Hero Arts stamp kit, cut out with shiny silver card stock from the same kit. Pearls were added as embellishments and I mounted the card front on a Dove White 100lb card base.

Related Products:

For the second card I printed out the sentiment (which is also part of the Wedding Day set) on Vellum paper. While the ink was still wet, I sprinkled gold embossing powder over it and heat embossed. I wasn't sure if this was going to work, but it did perfectly and you would never know the ink under the gold was black and not versamark ink. The wedding cake from the same set  was printed on Xpress It blending card and I kept it mostly white but added some pink roses using copic markers. Paper strips from my stash and half a paper doily finish off this card. Some pearls were added as embellishments because I think they go so well with wedding themed cards.

Guest Designer at Art by Mi Ran

Happy Friday!

I recently was invited to be a guest designer for the Art by Mi Ran challenge blog, and lucky me I got to choose not one but two gorgeous stamps to play with. Of course I couldn't help coloring them up both, so I have two cards to share with you.

Isn't she a cutie!! Loved coloring her up, although I had lots of problems with bleeding ink, and the printer ink turning purple ... due to my printer not liking my paper. But I ended up fussy cutting, so I could fix the problem a little bit. Papers are from Prima markerting, sentiment from Whimsy's Everyday Greetings set. Embellished with some twine and glitter.

I am entering the above card here:
Creative Moments -  Anything goes/ Celebration

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The card below uses the image Elfi Elizabeth. Another cutie from Mi Ran's shop.
I've used some older sentiment stamps from Whimsy stamps on the card to create this Christmas card (Holiday postage stamps). Papers are from my stash. I embellished with gold cord and glitter. The die in the corner is whimsy's holly and berries die, and felt flower that I had for a long time.

I am entering the Christmas card here:

Inspired by Pinterest 1

Happy Thursday everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Since I am doing all this "pinning" on pinterest, I thought it's about time I actually create things inspired by pinterest. So today is my first official "Pinterest Inspired" post, and hopefully I will do this on a regular basis. If there is anyone out there wanting to play along with me being inspired by pinterest, then I'd love to see what you have made, including a link in your post to what inspired you on pinterest.

Above is my creation inspired by a beautiful card I pinned some time ago. I used a beautiful puppy digistamp from Lee Holland. I was lucky enough to catch this one as a freebie off  Lee's Facebook page. It was a 24 hour freebie, and might now be available to purchase in Lee's Etsy store (see Lee Holland's blog sidebar).

It's been colored using Copic Markers. I fussy cut it out, adhered it to my card using pop up dots.

This is the card that inspired me. Isn't it beautiful?

I kept the same layout, but instead of a snowman I used the cute puppy. Of course I don't have that die/ frame, so I used my double scallop square doily die from Whimsy Stamps instead. I am going to need a few winter birthday cards, so I kept the birthday theme on my card. The card needed something on the top edge so I added some ribbon.

I would love to play along in a few challenges:

Crafty Ribbons -  Anything Goes with Ribbon
Crafty Creations - Dies/punches
Everybody-Art-Challenge  Card For A Boy
 4 Krafty Girlz Anything Goes

I would love to come see your pinterest inspired projects, so I am including inlinkz below.
Before linking please be sure that your post includes a link to your pinterest inspiration piece.

Have a fabulous day everyone!!

Happy Tuesday everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

K is for Kraft at ABC

Good morning everyone and Happy April Fools Day :-)
I hope you had a nice Easter Holiday! Ours was ok, at least the sun was out sometimes although  it was pretty windy. I am surely looking forward to some warmer weather soon!

I have a card to share today, that I made for our new challenge at ABC challenges. We arrived at the letter K and our challenge for the next two weeks is K is for Kraft. Simply use some kraft paper in your project to play along. I hope you'll join us! We are being sponsored by Bugaboo, who are giving away an amazing prize to one lucky winner.

Bugaboo generously let the DT choose one of their images, and I fell in love with the image called "Dandelion Butterfly". It's just so pretty, and I think this image would work well with any color combo. I went with a kraft, black, and yellow combo.

After printing the image, I used a scallop circle die to cut it out. The edge was sponged using an ink appicator and distress ink.
I did end up having problems with my sewing machine, so don't check out the sewing too much, LOL.. I just hope I can figure out what's up with my machine, it's barely one year old.
Then I ended up with a little too much glitter. I really wanted to start over with the card. But with the Easter Holidays I just did not get a chance to, so I am posting it how it is. I do have planned on using this beautiful image again sometimes soon though as I have another image printed.

The sentiment is from the set "Happy Birthday to You" from Whimsy Stamps. I used papers from Neenah, and stampin up, card stock is from DCWV and Prima Markerting. The butterflies were done with a Martha Stewart punch.
There is  a Design Team call posted at ABC challenges, as a couple of the Designers are leaving soon. It's such a fun challenge blog with lots of participation, so if you'd like to be on a design team why not give it a try. Sadly,  I am one that will be stepping down at the end of this month, because with spring here, and summer break just around the corner, I know I will have a hard time getting things done on time.

Thanks again everyone, hope you have a great 1st of April!

ABC challenge - I for ...........

Good morning and happy March!! Can you believe it's already March! Spring is not far now!
But I'm so happy we got a snow day a few days ago, we were busy making a few snowmen and got to play in the snow.  Finally a perfect snow for making snowmen! That doesn't happen very often, usually we get the cold nasty blizzard type of snow. But I am ready for some warmer weather now and to see my flowers blooming.

Since it's March 1st, we have a brand new challenge at ABC challenges. We've arrived at the letter I and our challenge is I for In Love.

I used a super cute digi from one of our sponsor's - Stamp Fairy.  You can find this specific image here. It's been colored using my pencils.

The pretty paper is from a 6x6 designer paper pack by Prima Marketing. The postage stamp sentiments are from the set "Everyday Mini Postage Stamps" by Whimsy Stamps. I used the mini postage die to cut them out.

I embellished with some diecut hearts(sizziz die) and flowers (MFT die), a button and some twine, and a little rhinestone in the flower center. To finish it off I sewed along the edges and around the image.

I hope you get a chance to play along in this challenge. It runs for 2 weeks, and we have prizes up for grabs from Stamp Fairy and LOTV.

I would love to combine my card with a few other challenges:
