Whimsy Stamps PRINTS blog hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Whimsy Prints BLOG HOP!

In October, Whimsy Stamps announced the release of a BRAND NEW Whimsy Stamps product line - the Whimsy Prints Collection

The Whimsy Prints Collection are beautiful sets of hand-colored images which have been digitally reproduced and die-cut into various shapes. Whimsy Prints are printed on 100lb premium coated paper and professionally die-cut leaving smooth edges. Each pack contains 12 die-cut prints (3 sets of 4 images).

The Crissy Armstrong prints are lovingly hand-colored by Crissy Armstrong herself:

The Elisabeth Bell prints have been hand-colored by our talented Senior Designer Simonne Clay:

Whimsy Prints Collection are very straight forward and easy to use. They can be attached directly to your project with glue or double sided tape. Use them as is or cut to fit the needs of your project. One of the benefits of using Whimsy Prints is to cut back on the amount of time needed to hand color images. To summarize, it is a great way to make quick projects when time is of the essence! These are also wonderful for beginner crafters and kid projects. If you joined us for our last 2 releases, you may have seen some of the beautiful projects our DT and Special Guests have created using these prints.

Today we are showcasing these gorgeous Whimsy Prints with a special BLOG HOP! In addition to our regular Special Guests, we are delighted to welcome both Crissy Armstrong and Elisabeth Bell who are joining us for this hop! The hop starts today (Friday November 30th at 12.00PM EST) and ends on Monday December 3rd at 12.00PM EST. For this hop we have 4 different candy stops where you can enter to win a set of Whimsy Prints. The location of these candy stops is a secret, so if you haven't found them, please go back to the beginning and start hopping!

If you would like to hop along with us today and haven’t arrived from Jacque Beddingfield's beautiful blog, please CLICK HERE to return to the beginning of the hop at Bev's blog

I decided to make two projects for today's blog hop.

Below is a quick and easy to recreate christmas card, perfect for those last minute cards that still need to be made.

For the above card I used one of the pre-colored prints (toppers) from Whimsy's "Winter Magic" collection by Crissy Armstrong.

I simply cut out my designer paper (by Stampin up -retired), added my Whimsy Prints image which I layered onto a scallop oval nestabilies shape. Then I added a strip of real red card stock to the right and a narrow strip of red and white to the top.

Thought a snowflake diecut would look nice so I used my Whimsy Stamps snowflake border die to create one. To finish it off I added a button and some twine, and sewed around the edges before layering it onto real red card stock.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamp set "Christmas Stocking sentiments"

*             *              *

Here is my second creation. I just love this gorgeous snow fairy image, also by Crissy Armstrong. This one is also from the precolored prints set "Winter's Magic". And I just love the way Crissy colored this gorgeous fairy.

My daughter is going to be in the Nutcracker ballet performance and one of her parts is a snow fairy. I thought she would love this wall hanging for her room.

This was really easy to create too, it would make some really fun last minute gifts, and if you have an alphabet stamp set, it's super easy to personalize too.

My paper is from the paper studio I believe. I layered the precolored print onto a square night of navy piece of card stock, then layered that onto brushed silver card stock. Sewed the edges and adhered it onto the designer paper.

The letters were stamped from the Whimsy stamp set "Spell it out", cut them out and then arranged them onto the bottom part of the picture. I added a few punched out snowflakes and some rhinestones, and then a little bit of ribbon and silver twine.

This was then adhered onto some white heavy weight paper which I scored twice to create a sort of a "border" Layered again onto night of navy. I have found a silver square picture frame for this at the goodwill store, but when I took a photo of it in the frame it was reflecting everything, so I am posting the photo without that frame.

So now it’s time for you to continue the hop by hopping over to Simonne Clay's beautiful blog.

Finally, here is a complete blog hop list in hopping order:

If you would like to see more Whimsy Prints projects, check out our latest mini magazine over on our Issuu site. This mini issue is filled with beautiful projects, all using prints from the Whimsy Prints Collections

Thank you so much for hopping with us today and I hope you enjoy our Whimsy Prints projects!

Whimsy Stamps November Release Hop Day 6

Happy Monday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!
Today is day 6 of Whimsy's November Rubber Stamp and Die Release!

  Today only.

From then until 27 November the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!

Here is what I created using the Stamp Set "Snowglobe Sentiments" from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs.
I started out by stamping the snowglobe stamp onto white card stock and cutting it out using the matching snowglobe die. Then I stamped the snowman in the middle of the snowglobe.
I thought a silver base would look nice, so I stamped the snowglobe again onto silver card stock, and had cut the base out.
The blue paper on the top part of the card was made by using the snowflake and word stamp "let it snow" from this same set. The bottom part is from Whimsy's Michele R. designs paper "Winter blues".  I added a diecut snowflake border behind the globe.
After putting the card together, I applied crystal effects onto the snowglobe, and sprinkled some glitter onto the bottom part. Oh, and I also used an old Stampin Up stamp from "itty bitty backgrounds" to create snowflakes inside the globe.
To finish it off, I sewed around the edges, added a snowflake with a little clear button and some silver cord, and then the diecut corners with some rhinestones.

I'm playing along in the following challenges:

Catered Crop - silver or gold

Corrosive challenge - anything goes

Stamptacular Sunday-  Winter Bliss

For today's hop I decided to use the cutie "Christmas Hamster" from Whimsy's Wee Stamps collection. Oh, how I love this cutie!!

He's been colored using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, face was done using copic markers.

The beautiful snowflake paper in the back was made using the new snowflakes background stamp, from the Raindrop Echo Designs collection. Love love love that stamp!! I used versamark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss.

The designer paper is from basic grey (olivia collection). Sentiment is from the whimsy Stamps set "Holiday Notables 2". It's been cut out using the notables 2 die.

I embellished with some ribbon, gold cord, glitter on the ornament, and finished it off by sewing around the edges.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

Music of Bells

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

I meant to post this card very early this morning, but I spent several hours at the dance studio with my daughter yesterday, and when we finally got home I completely forgot.

I made this card for our midmonth inspiration post over at Penny Black and More. If you haven't played yet this month it's still lots of time, and don't forget you can enter up to three times.

Our theme is pretty easy, "any die will do". And no need to use a Penny Black stamp, you can use any make rubber or clear stamp.  There are lots of prizes up for grabs.

Here is what I made, using the stamp "Music of Bells " from Penny Black.

I heat embossed the image with silver detail embossing powder directly on the night of navy card stock (which appears black in my photo). The bell was heat embossed on white card stock, and then cut out.
For my dies I used a crocheted lace border die from MFT, I think that's what it's called. I also used a couple of notables dies from Whimsy Stamps (Snowflake Notables 2 die, and Notables 2 die). All diecuts are cut from brushed silver card stock.

And that's all for today, thanks again for visiting!
Hope you have a great week!

B is for Butterfly and some exciting news!

Aahhhh I am so excited to finally be able so share this news with you all. I have been invited to join the amazing ABC challenges design team!

With it being a twice a month challenge -on the 1st and the 15th, it's just perfect for me and my schedule. I just had to apply and I feel so lucky to have been asked to join!  And I love the whole ABC idea for challenges. I know I am going to have so much fun!

If you haven't played along yet at ABC I hope you'll start marking your calendars, we are having some amazing sponsors lined up and some really fun challenges too.

For this challenge there is an amazing prize up for grabs from Bunny Zoe Crafts, and they have so many different stamp companies to choose from! Go check them out, you won't be disappointed!

We are at letter B (the team had just recently finished the whole alphabet) and our challenge is

B is for Butterfly

I thought this adorable stamp from Whimsy Stamps, available here at Bunny Zoe Crafts would be perfect to use for this challenge, as I only had a chance to use it once before.

I colored the cuties with my Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils and blended with baby oil. Their faces were colored with copics.

The papers are from Prima Marketing.
I really love this sketch, it was inspired by a recent sketch from the sweet stop sketch challenge blog.

The design is actually really simple, as you can see, I embellished with only a couple of butterflies (MS punch), and some twine. Of course I had to add glitter, and since I fixed my sewing machine I did some sewing too.

The sentiment is from the set  "A touch of elegant furniture" by Whimsy's Raindrop Echo designs, and it is also available here at Bunny Zoe Crafts for those of you in Europe.

I would like to combine my card with the following challenges:
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to get out your butterfly themed stamps or punches, or papers, and that you'll play along at ABC with us. Can't wait to see your creation!

 Have a wonderful day and

happy stamping!

Sunkissed's Christmas Tree

Happy Wednesday!
It's Review Day at the Whimsy Stamps inspirations blog, showing some more of the gorgeous October stamps released last month.

For my review piece I used the gorgeous stamp " Sunkissed's Christmas Tree   " from the Elisabeth Bell collection.

She's been colored using my Faber Castell polychromos pencils, skin tones were done with copics.

I used some gorgeous papers from Whimsy's Michele Roos Designs from the Winter Blues collection. Added some seam binding, and a little button with some twine as my embellishments. The sentiment is from last year's set "Holiday postage sentiments, I thought it would be perfect to use here.

The sky and edges of the image were done with an ink applicator, and I added some glitter along the edge.

Playing along in a few challenges too:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to visit the Whimsy Inspirations blog to see what the other DT members have to show you!

Penny Black and More - November Challenge

Good morning and thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you are enjoying your day. It's gotten pretty chilly over here, but that's to be expected since we are only 3 weeks away from December.

Since today is the first Sunday of the Month, it's time for our November Challenge at Penny Black and More. This month our theme is

"Any die will do".

I surely hope you'll join us, lots of prizes up for grabs again, by Penny Black, Stampalot, Classy Crafts, and Flonz Crafts.

Here is what I made for today's challenge.

I used the super adorable stamp "Skiing Snowman" by Penny Black of course. For my die I decided to use the double scallop square doily by Whimsy Stamps. I used it to make my card front with it.

For a change I got out my copics and colored this cutie using them. I found this image fairly easy to color with the markers, as there really wasn't too much to color, I usually just get frustrated when using them.

My sentiment is from the set "----" by Whimsy stamps. I used part of the stamp " Baroque Corners"  from Flonz stamps behind the sentiment to add a little interest. The sentiment banner on the top is also from Whimsy stamps "Holiday Circle Banners".

The sky was done using an ink applicator  and I added lots of sparkles to the "snow" part of the image. It's a very clean and simple card, I simply embellished with a little clear heart shaped button and some white twine. I did some paper piercing, and I used the same double doily die for my template as there are these small holes along the die.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges
Thanks again for visiting. I hope you liked my card! If you'd like to play along, simply click the logo below.
  Proud to design for
Oh, and we are continuing our monthly guest designer search, so if you'd like to join the team for a month as a guest, simply add GD behind your name when entering. Don't forget, you don't need to use a PB stamp, any make rubber or clear stamp will do.
