On Your Special Day

Happy Friday!
First day of Summer break here, and I woke up as usual at 6:30, although I had plans on sleeping in today. But I was wide awake so I decided to finish a card I started working on a couple days ago.
The cute stamp I used here is from Whimsy Stamps latest release - Josie Bell Bride from the Elisabeth Bell collection.

I stamped her with versafine onyx ink on Neenah Solar Crest card stock and coloring was done using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. The card has been kept simple. I did add a flourish die cut which was done using Whimsy's Vines Die set, along with some silk ribbon and a little flower. Framed it onto some soft coral polka dotted paper and then onto the Mellow Moss card stock. The sentiment is from the set "Everyday Moments", one of my go-to sentiment sets

I am playing along here:
Fussy and Fancy - 2W - No.164 - (W1 of 2) - Dies and/or Punches

Shimmery Sparkles Faery

Happy Saturday :-)
Hope you're having a great weekend so far with some nice weather. I woke up bright and early today to some cooler weather and clouds, but now the sun is out with a few clouds scattered around. Love this type of weather!

I have a card to share today using one of the new Whimsy Stamps just released last week.
I went with a natural and gold look, so it's not very colorful, but I like how it turned out.
Image was colored using copic markers and fussy cut. Glitter was applied to the wings and wand. The original stamp has some little stars scattered around the wand, but I had to cut them away to make it work for my design. I couldn't find a designer paper that would have worked, so I simply made my own by stamping a sentiment and some music notes onto so saffron cards stock, then inked the edges using distress ink. Sentiments used are also from Whimsy Stamps from a couple years ago. I finished off the card by adding a scallop border to the left side and a little button with gold cord onto the little "flag" on the right side. Christmas tree die I used here was also just released.

You can find the Whimsy products here:

 I am playing along here:
Crafting-With-Friends  Anything Goes
Jingle Belles - Use Something From Your Stash that's at least a year old and tell what it is (sentiments, border punch, twine, buttons are all very old)
Kitty Bee Designs - Make Music (music notes on background paper)

Winter Wonderland  A Christmas Fairy

And that should be all for today. Thanks so much for visiting!

Summer Days are Moments to Treasure

Good morning!
For this week's Whimsy stamps Summer creation I inked up the cute stamp Sweet 'n Sassy from Whimsy's Cottage Cuties collection.

She's been colored using Copic markers and a couple polychromos pencils. The little butterflies are from an ancient SU set, I thought they were perfect to stamp onto my white paper.
Added a bit of glitter and some twine for embellishments.
The sentiment is from the set "Summer Letter Seals" and I used one of Whimsy's border dies for the top border.

Let is Snow

Hello and thanks for visiting! I have a new card to share today using a beautiful stamp from Whimsy's Cottage Cuties collection along with some other Whimsy favorites.

This beautiful stamp is called "Snow Bunny". It was one of the have to have stamps for me from the November release. I stamped her onto copic blending card using memento ink and then colored with copic markers. As you can see it's been fussy cut.
I created the background using the "Christmas Scene Builder" set from Whimsy's SCDesigns. Sentiments are from the stamp set "Winter Wonderland", another Whimsy SCDesigns favorite of mine. The card base was done using Whimsy's double scallop square die. I simply added some glitter to finish it off.

Product List:
Memento and SU ink
xpress and SU papers
double scallop square die - Whimsy Stamps

Smiles and Sunshine...

Happy Wednesday!

Time for me to share a little Whimsy Inspiration here on my blog. I used a new rubber stamp from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell August release for today's card, along with an older sentiment and dies.

Image has been stamped onto copic blending card using memento ink and then colored with copic markers and fussy cut. Watercolors were used behind the sentiment, but it's hard to see in the photo. It's been a while since sewed on my card, but this card was perfect for it so I sewed the edges.

Product list:
MME designer papers, recollections 110lb -white, SU - colored card stock
vines die set, butterfly border die - I only used one butterfly from diecut (both by Whimsy Stamps)
ribbon, twine

Summertime Birthday

I recently made this card using more of Whimsy's new rubber stamps. The image on today's card is called "Zoe Butterfly" from Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties Collection.

It's been stamped onto copic xpress blending card and colored with copic markers. The blue background paper panel was done by inking white card stock with distress ink, then I stamped a verse from Whimsy's set Birthday Greetings onto it several times. The belated birthday sentiment is from the new set Life's Moments. Designer paper probably from Basic Grey (I had if forever!). I applied some gesso to it because it seemed a little too bright.  I finished off the card by adding a layered contest ribbon diecut shape (also from Whimsy), added some twine and glitter, and did some sewing.

Sweet & Sassy

I should really have been doing some cleaning, but I had a card idea on my mind, and so that took priority :-) There's more time to clean afterwards.

I used some stamps from Whimsy's latest rubber stamp release. Image stamp from the Elisabeth Bell collection - Miss Sunkissed, and sentiment from SC designs - Girl Talk. The image has been stamped on to copic blending card using memento tuxedo ink, and then colored using copic markers. I cut it out after coloring using cutterbee scissors. To stamp the words on the inside of the heart, I stamped the image a second time onto a post it note, cut out part of it to use as a mask.

I cut the sentiment out using part of Whimsy's Contest Ribbon die set
On the top part I used Whimsy's double scallop border die and some espresso card stock. Somehow it looks black in the photo, but it is just a dark brown. I embellished with a little button and twine, and a few sticky rhinestones.

I'd love to play along in a few challenges today:

Crafting from the Heart -Anything Goes
 Creative Card Crew  - Girly
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Whimsy Inspirations Challenge - Rubber DT Inspiration

Happy Wednesday everyone and thanks so much for visiting! It's time for some Inspiration from the Whimsy Stamps Rubber Design Team for our current Whimsy Inspirations Challenge. There are still about 2 weeks left to play along, don't miss your chance to be entered into the prize drawing. Several Whimsy prizes are up for grabs!

This month it's all about "Partytime". I decided to make a " Christmas Tea-Party" time card, thought this stamp by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps would be perfect for that. And which little girl wouldn't want to have a little tea party with her kitty on Christmas Day?
The image has been stamped onto Copic Xpress Blending card stock, which I finally decided to get, since I almost ran out of Neenah Card Stock. In case anyone is wondering about this card stock, compared with Neenah Card Stock, the ink stays wet longer, which means the markers are easier to blend. I also noticed a lot less bleeding out of the lines, which always annoyed me when using Neenah CS.  The paper is pricy, but I am using it only for my copic coloring, so the 25 sheets I received from Amazon will probably last me some time.

As I do on many of my cards, the image has been cut out using my cutterbee scissors. The bottom part of my background (white) card stock, has been inked using the direct to paper technique and a couple shades of distress inks. Then I stamped the "Christmas Tree in Words" on the right side. I wanted to stamp the girl image before adhering it onto the white card stock, so I could get the steam onto the card that I ended up cutting off. But, as you can see, I forgot to do that before I glued the image on, so now I have no steam. Oh well...

The border on top was made using Whimsy's double scallop border die. I added the two ornaments (seasonal ornaments set) cut out using the ornaments die set and some gold cord.

Products used:
Stamps: Apple Cyder Jubilee, Christmas Tree in Words set, Seasonal Ornaments set (all Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: Copic blending card, SU
Tools: Ornaments die set, double scallop border die (both Whimsy Stamps)
Accessories: gold cord, glitter

You don't have to use a Whimsy Stamps to play along, although if you do you will have an extra chance at being invited as a guest designer for a future challenge.

24 Days of Christmas Event at Whimsy Stamps

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!
Have you heard yet about the exciting 24 days of Christmas Event we are holding at Whimsy Stamps?

Every day this month until December 24th, one or more of the Design Team members will share a new creation with you on the Whimsy blog, as well as a letter  each day. After you have written down all 24 letters, you will need to unscramble them to make a 4-word phrase and you can email the phrase to Whimsy Stamps to be entered into the grand prize drawing.  That is not all, there will also be some random winners during the month, but we don't know yet which blogs or when they will be chosen from, so to maximize your chances of winning, you should leave comments on both the Whimsy blog and our own personal blogs.

Today is my turn to share some Whimsy Christmas Inspiration with you!  Be sure to visit the Whimsy blog to collect your letter if you'd like to play along in this event.

I had some time to create two cards for today's post.
The first one  uses the gorgeous stamp "Lissy's Little Light", which is from the latest release. Hadn't had a chance yet to use it, so I decided to use it for today's post.

She's been colored using copic markers and then cut out. I found the music sheet paper in my stash, I did use some distress ink along the edge, and stamped one of the "lavish flourishes" stamps in the top left corner. The sentiment is from the set "Holiday Cheer" Thought it would be perfect to use with the image. As you can see, I used the same flourish behind the sentiment too.

Embellished with some ribbon and gold cord, glitter and the diecut "holly and berries" using Whimsy's die.

For my second card I used an older stamp set, illustrated by Crissy Armstrong - Peace on Earth.
This set includes several beautiful images, including a gorgeous angel, and sentiments.  One of my favorite non-cute sets!
The image above has been colored using copic markers. The sentiment is from the set "Holiday Notables 2", and cut out using the Notables 2 die. Embellished with glitter, a clear button and silver cord.

Don't forget to stop by the Whimsy Inspirations Blog to collect your letter, and to leave a comment there too for more chances to win.

Have a great day!

Summer Ice Cream

I had some time today to finally create a card with this cute stamp from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell collection. The stamp is called "Summer Ice Cream" and it was one of the gorgeous new stamps just released last week.

I know my coloring is not that great, but I am including the copics used anyway, in case anyone is wondering what I used. I really need to figure out a better color combo for blue shades, especially jeans.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11
Hair: E31, E33, E37
Hat and Pants: B0000, B41, B45, 0 -blender
Shirt: Y11, Y15, Y17
Grass:YG00, YG03, YG06, YG63, G21
Leaves: YG00, YG03, YG06
Flowers: R20, R22, R24
Fence: E31, E43, E57, E33
Cone: E31, Y21, R00, R22
Dog: W1, W3, W5, W7

Here is another view.

As you can see I added some glitter to all the flowers, and the dragonfly border die cut. The sentiment is part of the set "Everyday Honeycomb Greetings" from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs", and the Dragonfly border die was also just released by Whimsy. Love that die!  I layered the dragonfly die cut onto a black dragonfly die cut, because I just needed a little bit of black on the top part of the card.

I used one of my favorite simple sketches. The paper is from a 6x6 designer paper pack by My Mind's Eye.

I would like to play along in a few challenges today:

Fitztown Challenge -Add Sparkles
Stamp and Create -  Glitter
Lacy Sunshine - Girls, Girls, Girls.
Pile It On - Designer Paper.
That Craft Place -  Stitch Real or Faux

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Childhood Memories

Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Today I am showing you another card I made using one of the adorable new July Rubber Stamps from Whimsy Stamps.

The stamp I used is from Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties Collection,

She has been colored using using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Another card I had made for Whimsy Stamps to use at CHA, so it has been done back in June before I had gotten out my Copics. While I really do love these pencils, I am ready do to some more coloring/practicing  with my copics. Haven't done much of any crafting recently because I had too much on my mind, but I finally feel like getting inky again!

I really thought this image was perfect to create a little scene with. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the grass. The "hill" was made using the Creative Memories oval cutting system. Then the fence was made with Whimsy's picket fence die.  Clouds are made with the Memory box die set, and then finally the sun was made using Whimsy's Sun Moon Stars die set.

I used sentiments from the set Welcome to the Big Top, which was also just released. I embellished with a simple little flower and brad. Now looking at the card, I really wish  I had done some sewing around the hill too, but it is too late now.

Here is another view.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Stitching
Simon Says Stamp -  Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays PTT #131 Anything Goes

Thanks so much everyone for visiting! Enjoy the rest of your week!!

ABC Challenges - E is for....

Good Morning and a

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!

We have a brand new challenge for you over at ABC challenges, we're at the letter E and the challenge is

E is for Embossing.

Heat or dry embossing, or both, whatever you like, as long as there is some form of embossing on your card.

We have not one but two amazing sponsors this time,

and

Here is what I made.

I used the stamp Bella Sole Love Letters from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell collection. You might also find this stamp at one of our sponsors -  Stamp and Create
as they also carry Whimsy Stamps products.

The image was stamped using memento ink, onto neenah solar crest card stock. It's been colored using Faber Castell Polychromos and copic markers.

I've embellished with some die cut keys using the die set "Lock and Key" from Whimsy Stamps.
For my embossing I used two cuttlebug embossing folders. Had them for ages, and I don't remember their names.

The border was done using Whimsy's double scallop square doily, I just cut one of the sides off to use as my border.

I  needed something on the top right corner, so I stamped a flourish from the set "Lavish Flourishes" by Whimsy stamps, and I used a postmark stamp from the set "Vintage Travel postage stamps".

I am entering my card to the following challenges:

If you'd like to play along in our E is for Embossing challenge, simply click the link above or on the ABC logo in my side bar.
Thanks again for visiting!!
