Beau and Bashful

Happy Friday everyone!
Finally had some time again for a card :-)
I used one of my newest stamps - Beau and Bashful-  from Whimsy's Wee Rubber Stamp collection! I was a little scared to color this image with my copics, but I think it turned out ok. Maybe it could have used some more shading...
I created a simple card, using a simple sketch. I didn't want to cover up the beautiful designer paper, so I kept it simple. I recently got this 6x6 paper pack from Whimsy Stamps - Hummingbird and Butterfly garden. Love it! So many pretty papers in this pack!

I added a little sentiment from one of Whimsy's Wee Stamp sets - Flower Fairies. Embellished with some twine and glitter, and then added a punched out butterfly, using designer paper from the same designer paper pack.

Here is a photo of the inside. I usually keep the insides of cards pretty simple, just decorating with a matching strip of designer paper. For this card I had the perfect matching sentiment - from Whimsy's stamp set Birthday Greetings 2 - so I stamped it. I also stamped the image Beau and Bashful again, using some soft Lavender Lace ink.

Here is a complete list of products used:
Stamps: Beau and Bashful, Flower Fairies, Birthday Greetings 2 (all Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: Hummingbirds and Butterflies (Whimsy Stamps), Neenah, Stampin Up
Embellishments: eyelet, twine, sticky rhinestones
Tools: butterfly punch (MS), corner rounder, crop-a-dile, sewing machine

Flowers: B00, V00, Y00
Basket: E40, E44

Here is a closeup.

Whimsy Stamps September Release and a Masculine Challenge

It's release day at Whimsy Stamps!!! Today Whimsy Stamps released several new super cute stamps, and stamp sets, as well as dies, a couple of gorgeous designer paper packs and Shape EZ templates! If you'd like to see all the newly released products on one page, just visit the
Whimsy Inspirations Blog to take a peek.

Of course we are holding another blog hop with some fabulous inspiration from the Design Team.
And as always one lucky "hopper" will win two gorgeous new release stamps. All you have to do to be entered, is visit each DT member (listed below), and leave comments along the way.

Since today is also the day for the Rubber DT to share a creation for this month's Whimsy Challenge, I decided to combine my card with the challenge creation. The theme this month is "Masculine Cards". There is still time to play along in the Whimsy Challenge, for some fabulous prizes. You may use any make of stamps, it is not a requirement to use a Whimsy Stamp.

Here is my creation, using stamp sets from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs.
I used the Season's Greetings Notables 7 set again from today's release, and I also used an older sentiment set, also from Whimsy Stamps, Christmas Tree in Words. It is several years old, but new to me, so I thought why not show it off too.
The background paper is from Michele Roos Design, it's not a christmas paper, but I thought it worked well with my color scheme. It is part of the pack "In the Garden". I inked up all edges  using the Direct to Paper technique. I really didn't want to add any stitching because it might not be counting as "masculine" but I just felt like something was missing so I did it anyway. I know the men in my life won't mind. The twine, which I just received from Whimsy Stamps as well (Lemondrop yellow) was a perfect match for the mustard-y paper that I used, so I added a bow too.

Products used:
Stamps: Season's Greetings Notables 7, Christmas Tree in Words (both Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: In the Garden (Whimsy Stamps), SU and Neenah card stock
Inks: SU more mustard and always artichoke
Tools: Notables 7 die (Whimsy Stamps), scallop border punch (SU), sewing machine
Embellishment: Twine

Here is another view:
If you'd like to hop along with us today, simply visit the blogs listed, and don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win. As always the prize location is kept secret.

My daughter had some fun with the September Release stamps too. She saw the cute Snowflake Bauble stamp from Whimsy's Time for Tea designs on my craft desk, and was she really wanted to make a card with it. Here is what she came up with. She is only 7, and did all the fussy cutting all by herself. Didn't she do an amazing job!! Of course she colored the image herself too, and found some diecuts and the sentiment that I had in im "extras" jar on my desk, to decorate the card with. The silver snowflake was made using whimsy's layered snowflake dies, and the white snowflakes were made with the snowflake border die. The sentiment was already stamped and cut out too (last year but I didn't end up using it then),  she did decide to color the bells on it. It's from the set Holiday Carols Notables 4. It was cut out with the Notabes 4 die.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have fun hopping and don't forget you still have time to play in whimsy's current challenge - masculine cards - for  more chances to win!
Have a wonderful day!

Penny Black and More - Midmonth Post

Find the Whimsy Stamp sneak peek blog hop post just below this post!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning and thanks so much for stopping by! I have two cards to share today, here is the first one. The second one will be posted around noon EST.

It's time for our Midmonth reminder at Penny Black and More. Our theme this month is Fall/Autumn colors with a sketch option. Here is what I created this time around I used the beautiful sketch Brenda created for us.

Here is a picture of the sketch that I followed.

To make my card I started out with a stickeroo from Penny Black's sheet  Pond-Side Celebration. When I use these stickeroos, I like to stick them onto regular white card stock, then fussy cut out to use on my card. That's what I did here too.
The beautiful flourish in the bottom right corner is a stamp  from the set Baroque Corners by Flonz Stamps, one of our generous sponsors this month.
I used a sentiment and die from Whimsy Stamps (Contest Ribbons and Contest Ribbons dies)  .
I simply added some ribbon, and a little brad in the top corner. And then finished off with some sewing.

I'd love to enter this card to the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations Paint -  Inspired by: Autumn Colors
Great Impressions - Fall Colors
Hobbycutz  - Autumnal.
Joanna Sheen Challenge -  Ribbons
One Stitch in Time -  Autumn/Fall.
 The Ribbon Girls - Peach/Orange*

Be sure to stop by the Penny Black Challenge Blog to see what some of the other Design Team members came up with. And hope you'll play along with us for a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes up for grabs from our generous sponsors - Penny Black, Flonz, Crafty Ribbons, and Stix2

Whimsy Stamps - September Rubber Stamp and Die Release - Sneak Peek

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

It's that time of the month again, time for a little Sneak Peek of what will be released tomorrow at Whimsy Stamps. And of course we are holding a little sneak peek hop. Don't forget to leave comments on each DT members blog (listed below) for a chance to win some Whimsy goodies.

For my card today I used the super cute stamp "Penguin Joy" illustrated by Crissy Armstrong. I have also used a new sentiment set (to be released tomorrow as well), Season's Greetings Notables 7, by Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs. I just love that shape, and of course I used the Notables 7 die to cut it out. These new goodies will be available for purchase tomorrow!
I colored these cute penguins using copic markers (listed below). I am starting to believe I am addicted to fussy cutting, seems like I cannot make a card without the image being fussy cut. The beautiful paper in the background is part of a 6x6 paper pack (Winter Frost), designed by Michele Roos for Whimsy Stamps, and it too will be available to purchase tomorrow.  And then I just had to use the gorgeous snowflake border die too, which was released last year.

A pretty simple card, I just added some silver cord, and a little bit of glitter for embellishments. Finished it off by sewing the edges.

Products used:
Stamps: Penguin Joy, Season's Greetings Notables 7 (both Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: Winter Frost DP (Whimsy Stamps), SU pink, Neenah white
Tools: Notables 7 die, Snowflake border die (both Whimsy Stamps)
Embellishments: Ribbon, silver cord, glitter

Penguins: C0, C3, C5, YR12, YR14, Blender 0

Halloween Whimsy

I had this cute image colored for some time now, and finally got a chance to turn it into a card. It was one of the new rubber stamps illustrated by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. Isn't it adorable!! The name of the stamp is "Trick or Treating".

Of course I wanted to color the little girl in a lady bug costume, only I didn't realize that I colored it backwards, as lady bugs are red with black dots not black with red dots.  My 7-year old however noticed it right away after seeing it LOL.
I did like how the coloring turned out, so I just left it as is, especially since I did all the fussy cutting  before my daughter told me about it being wrong.

Here is the list of copic colors used:
Skin: E0000, E00, E21, E11
Girl Costume/boots: C0, C2, C4, C6, C
Wings: B0000, B00, B02,  B05
Hair: E31, E35, E37
 Puppy: E51, E31, E35, E37
Cape/Hat: BV00, BV02, BV04, BV08, Y11, Y15

And here is another view.
The whole image was stamped a second time onto gray card stock, then I adhered the fussy cut colored pieces onto the gray.

Not sure if you can tell, but I have randomly used the happy halloween circle postmark sentiment all over the designer paper in the back, and then I stamped it onto white and used a circle punch to punch it out, then added it to the left. It's from the set "Holiday Postmark greetings". I just recently got that set, but it's an older Whimsy set, and comes with several circle postmark greetings for different holidays. Very versatile. Here's a view of the complete set. I love that it includes the postmark lines on the  bottom.
Holiday Circle Postmarks

The  letters used to make the word "Boo" are from Whimsy's alphabet set "Spell it Out".
Designer Paper is from one of My Minds Eye 6x6 paper packs, but I changed the look of it, but stamping the circle halloween sentiment all over it. I embellished with some ribbon and twine, a little black button, and then to finish it off I added a die cut bat (using a cuttlebug die).

And that should be about all about the card. Hope you like it!

I would like to enter this to a few challenges:

4 Krafty Girlz - Anything Goes
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Addicted to Stamps and More -  Anything goes
Baffies Kreativladen -  Dog, Cat, Mouse

Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge - anything goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Spooled items (I used twine and ribbon)
Simon Says Stamp -  Animal
Card and Scrap -  Use Dies (I used nestabilities circle and scallop circle, and bat die)

Have a fabulous day everyone!!

Penny Black and More - September Challenge

Happy September everyone! Can you believe Summer is about to be over soon!! We had some really beautiful weather this summer, although last week we got hit by a heat wave, but I am just not ready yet for fall. Hopefully September will bring some nice weather too!

Since it's the first Sunday of the month, we have a new challenge over at Penny Black and More.
This month our theme is

Autumn Colors
with a sketch option.

I had totally forgotten about the sketch option when I started with my card, and only remembered it when I uploaded my card onto our DT blog. Maybe this month I'll find some time to  create something for our midmonth posting, then I will be using the sketch for sure!

Here is my card.
I used the clear stamp set "Wonderful" from Penny Black

I used Copics for coloring.

I am so sorry I forgot again to write down the colors. I know the flowers were done using
Y11, Y15, Y17, E31, E34
YR000, YR04,YR07, RV06, RV69
Hedgies skin was done using E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
I used several shades of grays and a couple browns for the body/quills, and also several shades of greens for the grass and stems. The flower stems were mainly done using YG91, YG93, YG95. I think I also added some G99 for more shading.

Here is another view.

I applied glitter to the flower centers and the butterfly. The sentiment is from the set Everyday Honeycomb greetings by Whimsy Stamps.
I used designer paper from Basic Grey. I embellished with some ribbon and twine, and added the punched butterfly with some sticky pearls.

I would like to play along in the following challenges:

A.R.T. Card Challenge - Ribbons and Pearls
Crafty Ribbons -  Anything Goes with Ribbon
Inky Impressions - Animals
Anything Goes Challenge  In The Garden , Add Some Butterflies

I hope you'll join us this month. As usual we have several sponsors giving away some fabulous prizes. This month our sponsors are Penny Black, Flonz, Crafty Ribbons, and Stix2, so lots of chances to win!
