Fairy Silhouette

Hello and welcome! Today I have another fairy card to share made with another one of the beautiful Lavinia fairies.

I started out with a 4.5" square white Bristol Vellum card stock. Using my Tonic stamp platform, I stamped the fairy with Versafine Onyx ink and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then using the negative of a circle die cut, I inked up the scene in the background using Distress inks and Distress Oxides.

The sentiment is from a recent My Monthly Hero kit, their December fairy themed kit (now sold out).  I applied some Wink Of Stella glitter to her wings.

For the inside I used the circle part of the die cut and inked the outside of the card to leave a circle in the midde for a personal message.
Then stamped one of the miniature faires and some fairy dust (these stamps are both by Lavinia).

I am sharing my card with the following challenges:
Stamping Sensations - Fabulously Feminine
Creative Knockouts W,2E,C8 #282 Finish The Inside

Fashionable Stamping - Anything Goes

Crafter's Castle Anything Goes with option: Fun Techniques

Allsorts 504: Friends

Hello and welcome!
A new theme has just started at Allsorts challenge, it's Lynn's turn to host and she picked the theme of "Friends". We have another fun prize to give away this week, so please do join us for a chance to win.

I am trying a new way to photograph my cards, seems like I get better/ brighter photos when the pictures are taken trough the top opening of my photo tent. And I've included a snippet of the envelope too, I thought the cute "postman" hedgehog from the Penny Black set "Share a Hug" would be perfect to use outside the envelope.

Penny Black Stamp Join In // My Favorite Things Label Sentiments - Similar by Altenew and also available in Spanish // Versafine Onyx Ink // Clear Embossing Powder // Zig Clean Color Markers // Bristol Vellum Paper // Parrot Green Jute Twine // Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

It's been a looooong time since I used this cute image, but aren't these hedgehogs adorable!!

More hedgehog and critter stamps can be found at Scrapbook.com.

I first stamped and heat embossed the image, then masked the edges all around using washi tape (I wanted a white border around the image without adding another layer).  Then I colored Zig Clean Color Markers, and removed the washi tape.. I did have to trim a little bit of the border to make it fit my card. The sentiment is from the retired set "Label Love" by my Favorite Things (retired). This one by Altenew is similar and it also comes in a Spanish version. I found some papers from my stash to go with the card and used parrot green Jute Twine to finish it off. The card base is Stampin Up's Soft Sky card stock.

Some clear Wink of Stella Glitter was brushed over the ladybug and bee's wings.

I am also sharing my card with these challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Critters
Animal Friends Challenge - Hedgehog

Dandelion Fairy

Last year I treated myself to several new Lavinia stamps and I am finally getting a chance to share something made with some of the stamps.

I started out by masking the moon using a circle die-cut, then inked up the background with Distress Inks. I used Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves for the purple sky and Peeled Paint with alittle bit of Walnut Stain for the bottom portion. I used a mask made out of torn printer paper for the hills. Before stamping the fairy (Josie), I removed the moon mask. All stamps (besides the tiny sentiment) are by Lavinia. Love how they all work together to create a scene. I heat embossed the fairy using Versafine Onyx ink with clear embossing powder. Not sure I like the embossed effect....I feel like it's too shiny. Although I like the fairy to stand out I feel it's a bit too  much...what do you think?? How do you use these types of Silhouette stamps?

The tiny sentiment is from the Penny Black set Snippets. I finished off the card by layering it onto white card stock and then onto a pink base.

Allsorts Challenge 503: Make it Masculine

It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge, my turn to host this time, and I selected the theme of

Make it Masculine.

Hope you can join us for a chance to win two stamps from Bee Crafty. All details can be found on the challenge blog.

I have been really good about using some of my designer papers, they do help making quick cards. This one was really quick and easy to make.

The western scene trio stamp is an older one by Magenta stamps, and I cannot find a link to it anywhere. I heat embossed on Neenah white card stock and then added some distress ink to the backgrounds. Metal hardware (from Stampin Up - retired) and some twine finish off this card.

I am sharing with these challenges:
Crafting By Designs  - Corners, Borders and Frames (border around each square)
Lost Coast Designs - Silhouettes
Pile It On  January - Land Animals

This month is flying by and it's already time to share my mid-month card for the Penny Black and More challenge. This month it's all about "New Beginnings", please do come join us if you you haven't already, and don't forget you can enter up to 3 creations for more chances to win one of the great prizes we're giving away this month!

My "New Beginning" this time is a New Bundle of Joy!
Designer Paper from stash // Sentiment by Whimsy Stamps (retired)

An easy to make card, I stamped the image from the Penny Black set Buddy and Duck with Memento ink and colored with copic markers. Cut out and framed it with dies from Nestabilities and I used a simple sketch. A little button and some white twine (from Stampin Up) finishes off the card. I also used a Wink of Stella glitter brush on all the hearts.
I also wanted to make baby boy version of this card, but ran out of time. Maybe I'll have some time this weekend :-)

Sharing with these challenges:
Cutie Pie Challenge - Cute CAS
Paper Minutes - Peekaboo
Shopping Our Stash  Hearts
Stinkin' Inkers -  It's News to Me (New Baby)
Fab 'n' Funky - For a Child
Crafty Friends Challenge  - New Beginnings (week1)
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes with PB or optional Something New
As You Like It Challenge - Pearls or Buttons (It's buttons for me. I love that I can add twine and tie a bow with buttons, and with buttons I don't have to worry as much about it falling off too easily like I do when using pearls.)

And that is all I have for today! Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you have a great Sunday!

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - January Midmonth

Hello and Happy Wednesday.

Today I am sharing another creation made for my Crafty Wednesday Challenge  here on my blog. I have moved the linky to the end of this post, so simply scroll down to link up your creation.

I would love for you to join in if you haven't already and don't forget you can enter up to 3 times. A stamp set by Dylusions (sponsored by me) is this months prize - you can see it HERE in the original challenge post if you'd like to. Otherwise simply scroll down for the linky tool.

As a reminder, for the month of January I set the theme of.....

Sparkle and Shine

so glitter, embossing powders, metals, foil, crystal effects, shimmer papers etc.

Xpress It Blending Card // Versafine Onyx Ink // Clear Embossing Powder // Copic Markers //
Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass // Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch //

To make my card, I heat embossed the image using versafine onyx ink and clear embossing powder, then colored with copic markers. Normally I would use Memento Tuxedo ink, but my ink pad wasn't very juicy and I couldn't get a good impression with Memento ink. (Time for a replacement, now that I am starting to use my copic markers more often.) I cut a mask for the mouse, then inked up the white background with distress inks. Excited I got to use more of my pattern papers (if you haven't heard yet, I am on a mission this year to use up some of my never ending stash of pattern papers :-) The papers I used on today's card are from a paper stack by DCWV.

Unfortunately I can't link to this cute image and sentiment set, as it was a free stamp set from Hero Arts that came as a "thank you" with the cute December My Monthly Hero kit (now sold out). Speaking of Hero Arts, the  January My Monthly Hero kit was just release and is now available for purchase. Mine is on the way and I will be sure to make and share something as soon as it get here :)
Below is what this month's kit looks like.
MMH December

Allsorts 502: Milestones with Numbers

Good morning, it's time for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. Kath's turn this week and she wants to see Milestones with Numbers. Hope you can come join us for a chance to win a great prize!

In this image the little mouse is hanging on a kite, but I thought 3 balloons would be more appropriate for a 3 year old's birthday card, so I used one of the stamps from the Penny Black set Birthday Critters to add balloons to the image, and I simply masked off the kite.

All stamping (image, sentiments and numbers) was heat embossed using Versafine Onyx ink and Clear Embossing Powder. I cut masks out of post it notes to cover all the animals and balloons so I could color/ ink up the background. I used Zig Clean Color  markers for the grass and image, and the sky was inked with Blueprint Sketch distress oxide. Wink of Stella Clear Glitter was added to the balloons to make them sparkle and I added a die cut star (retired die by Whimsy Stamps) to the sentiment.

The sentiments are both from the Penny Black set Sweet Wishes, this set is a few years old, but so perfect for kids birthday cards! The number 3 is a stamp from an old Stampin Up Number set.

This week's Allsorts prize:

I am sharing my card with these challenges:

Sweet Wishes

I made this card a couple of days ago to play in the new Double D Challenges which is "Something  you can find on a menu", and finally found the time to share it here on my blog.

As I mentioned in an earlier post this week (or maybe last week), I am trying hard to use up some designer papers this year, because I have sooooo many scraps and cut pieces of pattern papers. Here I used some designer paper from an old paper stack by DCWV.

The cute image from the set  Loads of Love has been stamped with Memento Tuxedo  ink and I used my Copic  markers for coloring. A Wink of Stella brush was used to add some clear glitter to the cupcake's frosting and I used Spun Sugar distress ink sponged along the edges of the white card stock. The sentiment from the set Sweet Wishes, also by Penny Black, has been stamped with Memento Tuxedo ink as well and edges sponged with the same shade of pink ink.

The designer paper is from DCWV's  Glitter Mat Stack that I've had for a long time and used as the card front for my image and sentiment. I embellished with a button and some jute twine
