A Cold Winter Scene

Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by! I hope those of you in the US had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday and lots of yummy food!

I have a wintery card to share today using stamps from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps.

I started out by stamping the trees in the background and stamping them again without re-inking the stamp. Next I stamped the fence. For the snow banks I used a torn paper mask and an ink applicator. The snowman was stamped on separate card stock, colored and cut out and adhered to the card. Embellished with some glitter, a small clear button and some twine.

Products used:
 decorative iron fence, snowflake
all stamps above by JFF
scallop border punch, scallop circle nestabilities die
clear button, twine, stickles glitter,
copics, SU ink, memento ink

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Monday Morning Challenge 1

Happy Monday and welcome to my new monthly challenge right here on my blog.

Some of you probably remember that I used to host a challenge earlier this year and then took a break. I am back with a challenge again, and since I  had to change the day of the challenge, I couldn't keep the same name, so now I simply call it the

Monday Morning Challenge

As mentioned this is a monthly challenge, going live the last Monday of each month.
For the first challenge I picked out a very easy theme

***Anything Christmas or Winter***

Simply link your new creation with inlinkz below.

Just a few things to remember...

It must be a new creation
You must mention my challenge and link back here in your post
Combine with other challenges as you wish

And please note, due to high shipping costs overseas, prize winners will be chosen from USA entries only. I am very sorry about that, as I appreciate all my international blog visitors just the same, but sadly it would cost me almost $13.00 to ship the prize to Europe (in addition to the actual prize), and I find that too costly. Thank you for understanding!!

Now onto my projects for today. . . I made two cards. . .

Stamps used:
Dashing thru the SnowWinter Song
both are by Penny Black and limited available in my Etsy shop.
Sentiment from clear Penny Black set Holly Jolly.

For the background I masked off the bottom portion of the large stamp ( Winter Song), and added snow by tearing white card stock and adhered it to the bottom portion of the card. Inked the top part of the card with distress ink leaving off the white trees by simply covering them up with scratch paper. The image has been fussy cut after coloring with copic markers. I embellished with some glitter, silver cord and a punched out snowflake.

And here is my second creation using one of my favorite snowman stamps.

Stamps used:
Skiing Snowman by Penny black and limited available in my Etsy shop.
old SU sentiment

Designer paper is from my stash. Colored with copic markers. Embellished with glitter, twine and snowflakes.

This month's prize is a cute stamp sponsored by me / my shop

And this is the stamp that will go to one lucky winner.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Can't wait to see all your wonderful Winter/Christmas creations! You have until December 26th to enter. New challenge will start December 29th.

Edited to add 12/5

Snowflakes and pine boughs

Happy Friday! I have another Christmas Card to share today, using stamps from
I found the inspiration for this card on pinterest.

I started out by heat embossing the pine boughs and snowflakes onto white card stock. Then I inked it up with tea dye distress ink. The large stamp Glorious Song was then stamped onto the paper using tea dye ink. Layered the snowflakes and added a little button with silver twine to the center. This was then adhered to the white card base, and I stamped the sentiment on the bottom portion of the card

Let is Snow

Hello and thanks for visiting! I have a new card to share today using a beautiful stamp from Whimsy's Cottage Cuties collection along with some other Whimsy favorites.

This beautiful stamp is called "Snow Bunny". It was one of the have to have stamps for me from the November release. I stamped her onto copic blending card using memento ink and then colored with copic markers. As you can see it's been fussy cut.
I created the background using the "Christmas Scene Builder" set from Whimsy's SCDesigns. Sentiments are from the stamp set "Winter Wonderland", another Whimsy SCDesigns favorite of mine. The card base was done using Whimsy's double scallop square die. I simply added some glitter to finish it off.

Shadowbox Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by!
Yesterday was my turn to share something on the Just For Fun Rubberstamp blog, and I decided to create a shadowbox card. I've only made a few of these in the past, but they are so much fun to make and actually really easy. And they lay flat for easy mailing.

Sorry I don't have any step by step photos, because usually when I make a card I don't really think about the design until I have started, and by that time my desk is just a complete mess, and no room for photographing. And I don't have good lighting in my stamp corner. But here are the simple steps for those of you that would like to know how it's done.

I started out with two pieces of kraft cardstock, measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches each. I scored these at 0.5 and 1 inches on the left and right side (shorter sides). Next I cut a window out on one of the card stocks using a nestability die, which is going to be used for my top piece. As you can see, I used a background stamp on this card stock. You can also decorate this with designer paper if you wish.
I adhered the stamped trees onto the other piece of card stock. (I cut the image panel to fit between the scored lines.)  Next I folded along the scored lines (both pieces in the opposite direction), and added sticky tape to the sides to create this shadow box card. Added some coordinating papers and decorated with the sentiment and snowflake.

For the image on the inside, I simply stamped the trees using archival ink onto white card stock. Then I swiped the ink pad across the paper to add some color. I also added some frosted lace stickle glitter to the trees and snowy ground. I wanted a little more contrast, so I decided to use part of the glorious song sentiment here and there on my top piece of card stock.

Guest Designer at Art by Mi Ran

Happy Friday!

I recently was invited to be a guest designer for the Art by Mi Ran challenge blog, and lucky me I got to choose not one but two gorgeous stamps to play with. Of course I couldn't help coloring them up both, so I have two cards to share with you.

Isn't she a cutie!! Loved coloring her up, although I had lots of problems with bleeding ink, and the printer ink turning purple ... due to my printer not liking my paper. But I ended up fussy cutting, so I could fix the problem a little bit. Papers are from Prima markerting, sentiment from Whimsy's Everyday Greetings set. Embellished with some twine and glitter.

I am entering the above card here:
Creative Moments -  Anything goes/ Celebration

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The card below uses the image Elfi Elizabeth. Another cutie from Mi Ran's shop.
I've used some older sentiment stamps from Whimsy stamps on the card to create this Christmas card (Holiday postage stamps). Papers are from my stash. I embellished with gold cord and glitter. The die in the corner is whimsy's holly and berries die, and felt flower that I had for a long time.

My New Shop is OPEN!!!

Hello everyone! I have some very exciting news to share today, and a new card too!

Last month I decided to quit my part time job due to personal reasons, but since I am not one that can find enjoyment in doing nothing, I decided to open up my own little Etsy shop selling some of my favorite stamp designs.

As you may have guessed from my logo above, I am currently only selling stamp designs by Penny Black. You can visit my shop by clicking the link above, or simply type TimelessStamps4You in the Etsy search field.

My first shipment just arrived a couple days ago, and I spent the day yesterday getting the shop ready.
I am currently only shipping to the US, due to the high shipping cost overseas, and lack of tracking once the shipment leaves the United States.

Of course I had to get inky with one of the newest Penny Black stamps, and one of my new favorites
Winter Song. The stamp is currently available in my shop.

This is a very large stamp, and so beautiful! I did have a little bit trouble stamping it, due to the size, but after a couple tries I was happy with it. It was best to use it without the acrylic block, and simply laying the card stock over the stamp and then apply pressure with hands.

The card was very simple to create. After stamping I simply inked the edges with turquoise ink, and adhered to the black background. The bird was stamped separately and colored with alcohol markers. Added glitter to the snowy parts on the bottom portion and finished off with some punched snowflakes. The sentiment is from an older stamp set.

Product list:
Winter Song - Penny Black, sentiment - maker unknown
broken china distress ink, memento black ink
Recollections 110lb white card stock, SU black card stock
brads, glitter

Little Snowflake Dancer

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

I just couldn't wait to use this adorable stamp illustrated by Sylvia Zet. It was one of the new releases this month, available in red rubber from Whimsy Stamps.
I created a stage around her by cutting out some "curtains". I simply used an oval die and then cut it to shape the curtains. Since my paper was double sided, I had to cut out two ovals, but if your paper has the same pattern on both sides, you can just use one oval. For the valance I layered some lace, a punched scallop border and then added the snowflake border. As tiebacks I used snowflakes and some black gingham ribbon. The image was stamped onto copic blending card and colored with copic markers.

Here is a view of the inside of my card. This is how I usually decorate my insides, just a little bit of stamping and a bit of matching designer paper. Other than that I like to keep lots of room for writing on the inside. I used an older snowflakes background stamp randomly, and then in the corner I stamped one of the sentiments from the new set "Bracket sentiments".
Product list:

A Vintage Christmas Card

Hello and Happy Friday!
I played with some of the stamps today, that I had chosen for my Sept./October stamps from Just For Fun Rubberstamps. I had exactly this card in mind when I selected them :-) Of course these stamps are so versatile, that I can see them used many different ways.

I started out by stamping the Christmas background onto my white card base. It's missing some of the stamped background, because I randomly wiped the ink pad over the stamp to create this look on my card. Next I inked the edges using peeled pain distress ink.

The pine needle bough stamp was used in the corner. It's not as large as it appears on my card, I overstamped it a couple times to make it larger. The holly and bells image was stamped onto copic blending card and colored using copic markers, then fussy cut. It's been adhered with pop up tape, and I added gold cord. Sentiment is from the set "Unmounted sentiments 1 sheet".

Here are a couple close-ups.

Don't you just love the vintage feel of these stamps?! I knew these were had to haves for me when I first saw them!

Happy Autumn Days

Almost a week into November now, fall has surely arrived here in the midwest. Not much longer until snow, I think...

I wanted to share another card made with Whiff of Joy's Fall stamp kit before the season is over. Isn't Henry adorable playing in the leaves? That's always been a favorite thing to do in fall!

He's been colored with copic markers. Not sure why, but somehow the marker  kept bleeding out of the line :-(  I am just not having too much luck recently with my copics. Might have to do more pencil coloring again, if this keeps up.

All sentiments are from WOJ's fall stamp kit. Papers from stash. I simply embellished with twine and a button to complete the card.

I'd love to play along here:

For today's card I kept the focus on one of new sentiments with matching die from Raindrop Echo Designs - Resolutions and notched square die.

Whimsy Stamps - November Rubber Stamp and Die Release

Happy Monday! Already time for the November Release events at Whimsy Stamps, and once again there are going to be some amazing stamps being released on Wednesday. As always we are holding a 3-day blog hop event, showing you creations made with these new goodies. I hope you will join us each day for a chance to win some prizes.

Today the Design Team is sharing creations made with stamps by Art by Mi Ran, Time4Tea and Wee stamps. And I am so excited to be part of today's hop. (You will find the complete hop order at the bottom of this post.)

For today I decided to create a pocket card.

The sentiment "Believe in the Magic" is also going to be released on Wednesday - Winter Brackets by RED. The "sparklers" are from a set released last month -Christmas Scene Builder.

Here is the beautiful image peeking out.
Moon Goddess will be available on Wednesday in Whimsy's Art by MiRan section. It's been stamped onto copic blending card and colored using copic markers. Glitter was added to the stars and flowers.
Stars were diecut using an older Whimsy Stamps die set - Sun Moon Star sie set

And this is the complete image. Isn't she gorgeous!! On the back of it I adhered a white piece of card stock, so I can either write a note or stamp a message. This will make a really cute bookmark, and I already know who will receive it :-)

Sorry I don't have instructions on how to create this pocket card, but I started with a piece of card stock measuring 11x 4.25. Then scored at about 1" on top and folded down. Used strong adhesive down the two sides to create the pocket. Then I simply decorated it.

Here is the hopping list. Be sure to comment at each stop to be entered into the prize draw.

Mi Ran (GDT)

Have fun, and good luck everyone! I will be back again on Wednesday for our grand release hop.

Anything Goes at Penny Black and More

Happy Sunday! November already - it's crazy! And it has gotten really cold. Halloween was freezing!!! Took my Ninja trick or treating, but little Elsa decided to stay home and warm instead. Smart choice!

It's time for a new challenge at Penny Black and More. This month we are going to make it easy for you, as the theme is "Anything Goes". But I have a feeling we are going to see lots of Winter and Christmas cards :-)
That's what I decided to do, since I will be needing a few more to send off.

I stamped onto copic blending card and colored  using copic markers. The card was then inked using distress ink. I really wanted a CAS card, but it needed something extra, so I used a music sheet stamp on the background, as well as some other stamps in the corner. Embellished with the little jingle bells diecuts and some twine, and finished off with glitter.

Here is another view. Aren't these mice the cutest!!

Product list:
Caroling Trio by Penny Black, Music Sheet BG stamp by Hero Arts,
