Valentines Hearts

Happy Friday! I recently showed you this card using some gorgeous stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, and I loved that vintage address label stamp so much, that I just had to play some more with it.
This time I made a CAS-ish card with it, I simply stamped the vintage address onto my blue card stock, stamped, colored and fussy cut the hearts and adhered them onto the address stamp. I added a strip of designer paper on the bottom and sentiment on white card stock and finished it off with a little button and some twine.

(all by JFF)
SU and recollections card stock
designer paper from stash

Have a fabulous weekend and stay warm!!

Love and Happiness Puppies

Time for a little Whimsy inspiration on my blog! The cute stamp I used on today's card is one of the newest stamps illustrated by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. Her images are always such a joy to color!

I almost started here by telling you for a change I did no fussy cutting, but then realized I did fussy cut the sentiment (I don't seem to be able to make a card without fussy cutting).
Anyway, the image has been stamped onto copic blending card and then colored with copics. As you can see I used a CAS sketch. I adhered the image panel onto some really old SU desigenr paper. Next I added the ribbon. The sentiment was stamped onto copic blending card, colored and fussy cut. Then I used pop up dots to adhere to the card. The little hearts were part of the sentiment set, and I decided to stamp them onto the white paper. Kind of wished I hadn't...
I added a scallop border on the bottom edge and a little bit of glitter to the flower centers to finish it off.
Products used:
Doggie Gift, to have and to hold (both from Whimsy Stamps)
xpress blending card, recollections card stock 110lb, SU designer paper
memento ink, SU ink (for pink hearts), copics for coloring
scallop border punch, stickles glitter, grosgrain ribbon

Thinking of you card and TX rubber stamp show info

Today was my turn to share a new creation on the Just for Fun Rubber Stamps blog, and I've been playing with several of their stamps to create my card.

I started out by stamping the rose onto copic blending card, colored it with copics and fussy cut. While I was fussy cutting, I realized that it wasn't really necessary to do that.  I could have just stamped the rose on the paper and worked around it.

Next I stamped the beautiful vintage address stamp onto my card stock. The clock stamp image was punched out using a 1 1/2" circle punch, and adhered over the address stamp. In the next step I adhered the fussy cut rose. I did stamp the bloom again, fussy cut and used pop up dots. Over the clock I stamped a postmark image and a cancellation mark using turquoise and brown ink. (By the way, the small stamp and cancellation mark on the very top of the card are part of the gorgeous address stamp.)
I also received some cute heart stamps in my design team packet, and used them to add to the card. I embellished with a little butterfly and some sticky pearls.

Product list:
(all stamps are from JFF)
SU and recollections card stock, xpress blending card
copics for coloring
MS butterfly punch, sticky pearls.
various distress inks and memento ink

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - New Beginnings

Good Morning and thanks for visiting!
As most of you probably know already, Whimsy Stamps has discontinued their digital stamp sale, and therefore the Rubber Stamp design team is now creating a monthly card for the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations challenge. This month our challenge theme is

New Beginnings.

I thought this cute baby stamp illustrated by Crissy Armstrong would be perfect for this challenge, and since it has bee quite some time since I last used it, I decided to ink it up.

I love how this card turned out! The sketch came from a card I pinned a long time ago. I was going to use pink designer paper, but my husband thought a bluish toned paper would look nicer and since he so much more artistic than I am, I followed his advice. And I am happy I did!

Image has been colored with copic markers. The papers I used are really old, I found them digging through my paper scraps. They are probably both by SU. I used a Faber Castell pitt marker for the white dots on the baby's outfit. Embellished with some lace tape, twine and a rhinestone, and finished off with glitter on the stars. I have no idea why all the white looks pinkish in the photo above. It looks white on the camera, but then when I crop and edit it turns pink. This actually happens to me every time there is some pink in my cards.

Here is the product list:
Cradled by the Moon, Life's Moments (both by Whimsy Stamps)
Designer paper scraps, xpress blending card, recollections 110lb white
memento ink, copics for coloring
twine, lace tape, rhinestone, glitter

Midway Reminder for Penny Black and More

Did you play along in yet in this month's Penny Black and More challenge? There is still a little time to share a creation with us. The theme is very easy - simply use an embossing folder, stencil or mask and a rubber or clear stamp, and you are good to go. We didn't have too many entries yet this month, which means the chances of winning one of the fabulous prizes are even better, so why not join us!
Other than following the theme, our only other rule is that it has to be hand stamped (digis are not allowed). You may use any stamp company. You can even enter up to 3 times for more chances to win.

Here is what I made for my reminder post.
This time I used a hearts embossing folder (cuttlebug). I thought it was perfect to use with this cute stamp from one of Penny Black's  newest sets from the Love and Friendship collection.

I used a simple sketch and embellished with some pink twine. Papers are from my stash. They are pretty old so I have no idea who the makers are.
I used copics on xpress blending card for coloring.

Here is a close up.

I am playing along here:
My Time to Craft - Love is all around
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - (new stamp sets)

Share a Hug

Hello and thanks for stopping by!
I had some time this morning to do a little coloring, and then I decided to create a card with this cute stamp. I am sure some of my followers know that I love squirrels. They love our oak tree in the backyard and I love watching them out the window. It is also a lot of fun watching my cats chase after them. Of course it always results in them coming back to the door with a sad look on their faces because the squirrels always get away. (Thank goodness and I hope it will stay that way!). They are such smart little critters!

When I saw this new stamp set being offered by Penny Black, of course I had to get a set for myself. It is also for sale in my Etsy stamp shop, along with the sentiment set that I used on today's card. (The stamps in my shop are of course brand new!)

The image has been stamped onto xpress it blending card, then colored with copics and fussy cut. I used an old hearts embossing folder for the background. Designer paper scrap is from my stash.
The image has been adhered to the card with pop up dots.

Product List:
kraft card stock (SU), blending card (xpress it)
designer paper from stash
black memento ink, copics for coloring
old cuttlebug Embossing folder, twine

I am playing along here:
Crafty Ribbons -  Let's Get Sentimental
Throwback Thursdays -  Valentine
Addicted to Stamps and More -  Coloring
Crafty Gals Corner - Sweetheart (I stamped a heart flourish over the sentiment)
Fab 'n' Funky - Something New

Cuttlebug Mania -  It takes two...

Also, just a little reminder - there is still time to play along in my Monday Morning challenge. I have a stamp from my shop to give away.

Happy Stamping!!

Whimsy Stamps - January Rubber Stamp and Die Release - Day 2

Happy Tuesday and thanks for visiting!
Today is day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps January Rubber Stamp and Die release sneak peek! And of course we are having another fabulous prize giveaway hidden in one of the participating designer's blogs, so be sure to leave a comment on each blog (links below) for a chance to win!

Today we are showing you creations made by stamp designs from Mi Ran  and Krista Heij-Barber.

And here is what I made using the Mi Ran cutie - Cotton Candy - she will be in the shop tomorrow, January 14th.
She's been stamped onto copic blending card, then colored with copics and fussy cut. I cut out a hill using Whimsy's stitched border die set, and adhered it onto my blue background. Cotton Candy was then adhered to that. The sentiment cirlce is from an old set by Whimsy - Spring Letter Seals.

The whole card design was actually inspired by a marker mistake I made, after fussy cutting her, when I inked the edges of the cut image with a black marker. My only two choices were, recoloring and re-fussy cutting, or trying to cover it up. Since it would have taken me a long time to re-do everything (and this was already my second time coloring the image), I decided trying to cover it up. These tiny butterflies came to mind, and then I remembered the old Whimsy stamp set  - Spring Letter Seals, and everything worked out perfectly. Love how the card turned out! I think the image is perfect for a spring butterfly themed card.
I finished it off by adding a few more butterflies and some twine.

If you'd like to hop along with us today to see the amazing creations by the rest of the team, simply visit the links below.

Don't forget, all stamps will be available for purchase tomorrow at Whimsy Stamps. There is also another blog hop scheduled for tomorrow, but I won't be part of it.

Have fun hopping and good luck everyone!

Whimsy Stamps - January Rubber Stamp Release Sneak Peek- Day 1

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the Whimsy Stamps January Rubber Stamp and Die release blog hop - Day 1!

Over the next 3 days we will reveal 16 *BRAND NEW* red rubber stamps/stamp sets and 1 *BRAND NEW* die/die sets. They will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Wednesday.

We are starting off today, by showing you stamp/die designs by Crissy Armstrong, Time for Tea Designs, Lizzy Love and Denise Lynn.

And here is what I made for today, using the super cute stamp "Crateful of Kittens" illustrated by Crissy Armstrong.
I started out by stamping the image onto copic blending card using memento ink. It's been colored with a combination of copic markers and Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.
The sentiment is from an older set "Everyday Moment", also by Whimsy Stamps. If you are looking for short and sweet little sentiments, then this set is for you. Lots of stamps are included here, something for almost every occasion.
The designer papers I used are just some papers from my stash, as usual. In fact I don't remember when I bought designer paper the last time. I still have way too much and I am having lots of fun digging through it to find the perfect papers when I make a card :)

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left here and on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment at every stop to be entered into the draw.

Thanks so much for visiting! Happy hopping!
I will be back again tomorrow with another fun Whimsy creation!
