You Make my Heart Smile

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing good! Sorry for the lack of posts, but I have been busy moving some stamping stuff around...I decided that I don't want to create upstairs any more, and prefer to take over the kitchen instead :-) This means I had to switch out all the stuff from the hallway closet with my crafty things from upstairs and at the same time trying to de-clutter. It's not easy when you're holding on to all kinds of things...the hoarders out there will understand :-)

I did manage to make a card for this month's Penny Black and More challenge reminder post. Anything goes this month, don't miss your chance to link up with us for a chance to win one of the great prizes.

For today I used one of the cute "Mimi" stamps from the PB set Mimi's Love.

Mimi  has been stamped onto copic xpress it card, then colored with copic markers. I used a wink of stella glitter brush on the umbrella, shoes and hearts. Designer papers are from my stash, and I used some twine to tie a bow. Sentiment is from the PB set "So Very Much".

A little closeup below...
I made this card for my daughter for Valentine's day, she loves the Mimi stamps 😊. I plan on making a card for my son too which I hope to be sharing soon!

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Blue and Yellow One Layer Card

Last night I actually managed to make a card!!! I came across a beautiful card by Kay, and wanted to give the design a try.  I don't have the products Kay used, so I used what I had instead. I also wanted to play along in the Blue and Yellow Flower challenge, so I switched up the colors. The flowers on Kay's card made me think of the really old Stampin up set "In Full Bloom" which sadly had been sitting on my shelf for many years unused. One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to use more of my older stamps, there is a reason why I don't  part with some of these old sets, and that is because I love them. This was the perfect chance for me to ink up the pretty flower from the set.

I started out by masking off the top and bottom border of the Neenah linen card base using washi tape. Then I used Mustard distress ink and Apricot SU ink for sponging and stenciling. Sorry, but I threw away the stencil packaging so I have no idea what brand they are.
The blooms were stamped onto xpress it blending card, colored with copic markers and then fussy cut before adhering to the card. Flower stems are from the SU set "Both Way Blossoms", another really old set, and the leaves are from the set "Roses in Winter", also old.
Sentiment is by Penny Black (Sprinkles and Smiles). I thought the card needed something black on the bottom, so I used the little "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the PB set Snippets across the bottom border.

As mentioned above, the colors were inspired by the  Flower Challenge  so I am entering my card there.

And that is all for now. Hope you all have a great weekend!

A Year in Review 2016 (and Used Stamps for Sale)

Today I want to share a few of my favorite cards I made during last year. I didn't make as many cards last year as I did in the previous years, but wanted to take a look back anyway. And once again I have to say that I cannot choose between cute and non-cute stamps/cards. What can I say, I like them all! And I always have a hard time choosing favorites,  so I picked one from each month to make it easier.

I love the gray and peach color combo and it's one of my favorite girly fashion stamps.

I really like how my water coloring turned out.

What can I say...this cat card is just too cute!!

Love the card design here and of course who can resist this cute bunny!

More water coloring fun using the Zig Clean Color brush pens.

Just a fun floral design and I got to play with my Pan Pastels.
(I really need to get them out more!!)
A cute Christmas in July card I made (Couldn't resist the new image by Mo Manning!) and my card was chosen as one of the top 3.

Love how my coloring here turned out following a colored pencil tutorial I purchased. Sadly it takes a really long time to do this coloring technique, so I wasn't able to color much more following this tutorial. Maybe this year I'll find more time...

I really like colors I used on this baby card.

Some layered stamping fun on this floral card!

Love the winter scene and the Penny Black snowman is just perfect for it. Had lots of fun playing with masking fluid!

A fun to make CAS card using wet embossing on linen card stock.

I am hoping to be able to make more cards in 2017. One of my New Year's resolutions is to quit being such a messy crafter, and one thing that will help with that is clearing out some of my stash. I started going through some stamps that I hate to part with, but I think they will be more used in another home, so I have listed some already on Ebay if anyone is interested. Unfortunately I can only ship to the United States as I want to use tracking and it is just too expensive to ship overseas. More to come as I get time.

Below is a photo of the stamps I have currently listed:
These are all by Whimsy Stamps (Elisabeth Bell designs), but I am hoping to list some sentiments stamps too.

Have a great day everyone!
Happy Crafting!!

Penny Black and More - January Challenge

Hello and thanks so much for visiting! The new year snuck up on us, and I would like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful 2017!!

Time for the new challenge at Penny Black and More, and this month there is no reason not to play along as this month the theme is "Anything Goes". Just be sure to follow our simple rules which you can find on the challenge post.

For my card today I colored a cute kitty stamp from the set "Furry Affection" using copic markers. I usually struggle when trying to color a brown/orange toned kitty, but I'm happy with how this one turned out. I used E31, E50, E53 and R20 for the cat.
The patterned paper is from Stampin Up, sentiment is from the same cute set. A little button and jute twine finishes off this clean and simple card.
In the above photo you can have a little peek inside the card, I don't usually do much inside, but like to add a strip of matching designer paper as seen here.

This card is listed in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

Have a great day!!
