Summer Ice Cream

I had some time today to finally create a card with this cute stamp from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell collection. The stamp is called "Summer Ice Cream" and it was one of the gorgeous new stamps just released last week.

I know my coloring is not that great, but I am including the copics used anyway, in case anyone is wondering what I used. I really need to figure out a better color combo for blue shades, especially jeans.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11
Hair: E31, E33, E37
Hat and Pants: B0000, B41, B45, 0 -blender
Shirt: Y11, Y15, Y17
Grass:YG00, YG03, YG06, YG63, G21
Leaves: YG00, YG03, YG06
Flowers: R20, R22, R24
Fence: E31, E43, E57, E33
Cone: E31, Y21, R00, R22
Dog: W1, W3, W5, W7

Here is another view.

As you can see I added some glitter to all the flowers, and the dragonfly border die cut. The sentiment is part of the set "Everyday Honeycomb Greetings" from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs", and the Dragonfly border die was also just released by Whimsy. Love that die!  I layered the dragonfly die cut onto a black dragonfly die cut, because I just needed a little bit of black on the top part of the card.

I used one of my favorite simple sketches. The paper is from a 6x6 designer paper pack by My Mind's Eye.

I would like to play along in a few challenges today:

Fitztown Challenge -Add Sparkles
Stamp and Create -  Glitter
Lacy Sunshine - Girls, Girls, Girls.
Pile It On - Designer Paper.
That Craft Place -  Stitch Real or Faux

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Stamping!!

Whimsy Stamps - August Rubber Stamp Release and Whimsy Inspires Challenge

Good morning everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

It's release day today at Whimsy Stamps, and several new and gorgeous stamps, dies Shape EZ templates, and papers have been released. Don't forget about our brand new illustrator, Time for Tea Designs at Whimsy Stamps. We are holding a 3 day blog hop in celebration -  if you haven't hopped along yet in that blog hop, you still have plenty of time to do that, for a chance to be entered into the prize draw.

Of course today we are holding our "regular" new release hop, which lasts for 24 hours only, and another chance to win some whimsy goodies. To hop along in today's hop simply visit all the blogs listed below and don't forget to leave a comment along the way. The prize is hidden in one of the blogs. You have until Thursday 12Noon EST to hop along in this one.

It's also time for the Rubber Stamp Design team to share a Challenge creation with you for this month's challenge of Clean and Simple. To see what the rest of the Design Team created or to play along in our challenge, simply visit the challenge blog.

Here is what I created for this blog hop and for the challenge.

I used the stamp "Goldfish Kid" from the Kenny K. collection. I used copic markers to color the image. The sentiment is from the new set Everyday Honeycomb sentiments by Raindrop Echo Designs.  You can use the new Honeycomb dies to cut them out. I don't usually go with trends much, but have to admit that these honeycomb shapes are so much fun to work with!

Here is another view.
I apologize for not having the copic colors used handy. I wrote them down on a piece of paper and now it's missing. From now on I will type them up in a post on my computer as I finish coloring, that way it won't be lost.

Since it's Clean and Simple challenge month at Whimsy Challenges, I made a CAS card for it, using just minimal amount of papers and embellishments. The gorgeous striped blue paper is a vellum type paper which my friend brought back for me from her visit to Japan. So loving it!! And the package came with several different colors!  I simply added a strip of pumpkin card stock next to the designer paper. Then a little clear button with some twine to finish it off. In case you are wondering about the dots behind the image, it's from the set "itty bitty backgrounds" (long retired SU set). I randomly stamped it behind the image before adhering the image onto the card front.

That's it about my card, below is the list of participating Designers, if you like to hop along. Lots of us participating, so you will see lots of lovely creations along the way!

Have fun hopping and thanks again for visiting!

Here is what I created, using the super cute stamp "Heart Ballon" from our new Illustrator -Time for Tea Designs. I used my copics for coloring. Coloring isn't as good as I like it to be, but that's ok, I am sure I too will get better with practice.

Colors used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, E39, white prismacolor pencil
Dress: B0000, B00, B02
Balloon: R81, R83, R85, 0- colorless blender
Shoes: E31, E35, E37
Eyes: YG95

Here is another view.

The beautiful sentiment is one of the stamps from the new set "Birthday Greetings 2". Not sure if you can tell, but I have also stamped it onto the sand card stock behind the image, using linen distress ink.  I sentiment circle  needed something else, so I decided to use one of the stamps from the set "Itty Bitty Backgrounds" from SU (long retired) around the sentiment.
The beautiful dragonflies were diecut using Whimsy's new die "Dragonfly Border" which will be officially released tomorrow. It is soooo pretty! I added some stickles glitter to it for some sparkle.
The designer paper in the background is from a 6x6 paper pack by Prima Marketing. Besides the dragonfly border I embellished with a little flower and rhinestone.
To finish it off I did some sewing, and then added some paper piercing to the right side.

Here is what I made using my one of my favorite stamp sets from last month's Whimsy Stamp release -

The main image has been heat embossed using black ink and clear embossing powder.
The sentiment is part of the set. It's been cut out using one of the dies from the die set "Contest Ribbons".  Flourish die on the left side is one of Whimsy's "Vines dies".  Papers and ribbons from my stash.

This month I'd like to give away this cute Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp from my own personal collection, so it has been slightly used.

Best Witches...

Hello everyone and thanks so much for visiting!
I was so excited to find this cute digi stamp from Tiddly Inks in my inbox yesterday. Christy of Tiddly Inks generously emailed all the Design Team call entries this cutie as a thank you, of course I had to color her right away. Plus, if you haven't entered the call, she is available for purchase for the special price of just $1 for a very limited time.

I did not make the full term design team call, but I am super excited to say that I was asked to be a guest designer for one of the upcoming months. Of course I had to accept that offer!!

Now onto my card, the image is called "Spell on Ya". She has been colored with Copic markers. Still learning how to do pleats and I found it challenging to color curly hair too, but I am sure with practice I too will get better at  it.

Here is the list of colors used:
Hair/Shoes: C4, C5, C7, C10
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Clothes: BV00, BV02,BV04, BV08, Y11, Y13, Y17, YR14

Here is another view.
The image has been cut out using my Cutterbee scissors before adhering to the card. I found the "web" designer paper in my stash and thought it matched the dress perfectly.

The sentiment "Best Witches" was computer generated, the other sentiment is from a retired SU stamp set. I inked the white edges with mustard seed and orange distress inks. It's a pretty simple card sketch, I simply added the little banner, which was made using Whimsy's die set "Contest Ribbons", and I added a little flower with a brad and some twine to it. I added some glitter too but it is really hard to see in the photos.

I am entering my card to the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Anything Goes
The Crazy Challenge Anything Goes
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Anything Goes

Have a great day and happy stamping!

Penny Black and More - August Challenge

It's the first Sunday of the month, and that means it's time for our August Challenge at Penny Black and More.

Please do grab our logo to display on your own blog

This month we would like to see cards created for the theme

In the Garden.

Should be easy enough, so I hope you all join us. As always we have several amazing prizes up for grabs from our very generous sponsors. This months we are sponsored by Penny Black, Crafts U Love, and Classy Crafts.

For my card I used the cute stamp "Chit Chat" from Penny Black.

I used my copic markers for coloring. I know my coloring is nowhere near perfect, but I did have lots of fun, now that I finally figured out the "flicking" way of coloring, and after watching several fabulous tutorials on you tube. Thank you to all of you talented people out there for sharing your knowledge!

After coloring and trimming the image I used an ink applicator tool and some distress ink around the edges. Then adhered it onto some designer paper and did some machine sewing. I layered thsi onto another designer paper and then onto the card front. The border on the bottom of the card was made using Whimsy's double scallop border die. The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps from the set "Spring Sliders 2", and I used the slider 2 die to cut it out.
I embellished with some ribbon and a couple of prima flowers and a button with some twine.

I am playing along in a few other challenges too:

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Hanna & Friends -  Anything Goes
MilkCoffee Challenge - Show us your coloring skills
Paper Crafting Journey - Punch and/or Die cut

Have a great day!

Childhood Memories

Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Today I am showing you another card I made using one of the adorable new July Rubber Stamps from Whimsy Stamps.

The stamp I used is from Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties Collection,

She has been colored using using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Another card I had made for Whimsy Stamps to use at CHA, so it has been done back in June before I had gotten out my Copics. While I really do love these pencils, I am ready do to some more coloring/practicing  with my copics. Haven't done much of any crafting recently because I had too much on my mind, but I finally feel like getting inky again!

I really thought this image was perfect to create a little scene with. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the grass. The "hill" was made using the Creative Memories oval cutting system. Then the fence was made with Whimsy's picket fence die.  Clouds are made with the Memory box die set, and then finally the sun was made using Whimsy's Sun Moon Stars die set.

I used sentiments from the set Welcome to the Big Top, which was also just released. I embellished with a simple little flower and brad. Now looking at the card, I really wish  I had done some sewing around the hill too, but it is too late now.

Here is another view.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Stitching
Simon Says Stamp -  Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays PTT #131 Anything Goes

Thanks so much everyone for visiting! Enjoy the rest of your week!!
