The other day some sort of a promoted post popped up in my Instagram feed where someone used a piece of broccoli and acrylic paint for an art piece. The only vegetable I probably ever used as a stamping tool had been a potato in Kindergarten (we probably all did that!!) so I really wanted to give Brocccoli stamping a try. Here is what I came up with using stamps by Tracy Evans besides the broccoli. I did use traditional inks, not acrylic paints.
I started out by creating an inky background with a circle in place for a
moon. I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire inks. Some water
droplets were splattered on to the background to create some interest. Stamps
used are all by Tracy Evans - TE38 Silhouettes (tree),
Miniatures released by Aall and Create (bunnies and quote) and
TE50 On the Wild Side (foliage stamped in green at the bottom part).
Inks used for stamping are Versafine Onyx, Versafine Clair Grass Green, Arctic
and a tiny bit of Baby Pink to make it look like the tree is starting to flower.
I used a torn paper mask and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink to make a hill for the bunnies.
Can you see where I used the broccoli 😀😀 It's the speckled stamping around the trees and a little bit at the bottom too.

Ellie, this card is as wonderful as all your others always are! So much ink layering and detail to be discovered. Broccoli - wow! I am especially tickled by this little rabbit meet-up. If I get up in the night I always check out the window to see if there are bunnies in the moonlight under the birdfeeder, and when there are two or more, what a treat! ~Nancy J, inkblocks

Never heard of broccoli stamping but it is certainly effective on this beautiful atmospheric card. Thanks also for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations and We Love Stamping challenges.
A sweet and atmospheric little scene with the bunnies meeting in the moonlight, the effect from the broccoli is lovely- the trees look as if the spring leaves are just bursting through. I've used different vegetable and fruit for the children to stamp patterns with- potatoes, carrots, apples and pears-never broccoli although they probably would have been less tempted to try eating it than they were with the fruit and carrots!

Such a fabulous scene, I saw the broccoli stamping, it's intriguing though I haven't tried it yet, I bought mine to make soup with LOL.

We always have broccoli on hand as we eat it about 3x a week so it was easy to snip off a bit and try :)
I want to try celery too. It was part of the video as well and looked like a beautiful rose :)

Oh this is pure storybook magic. That soft blue sky and glowing moon set the most peaceful scene and those delicate tree branches add such beautiful detail. The little bunny silhouettes at the bottom are just the sweetest touch and make the whole card feel calm and thoughtful. It is like a quiet spring evening captured in paper.
