A floral birthday card

Happy Friday everyone and thanks so much for visiting me!!

I did not feel like creating anything the last week or so, even though I had so many ideas in my head. I ended up quitting right before I actually started. Then one day I decided to look through my favorites on Splitcoast in hopes to get inspired to finally make something. Came across this card and decided to recreate it.

I chose very similar things that I had on hand and changed the colors a bit. I haven't used a background stamp in a long time. This was so much fun!! Did a little bit of sponging and distressing along the edges and then decided that stitches would look nice too.

The flourish stamp is from Stampabilities (Vintage Flourish), and the background stamp is from Stampin Up (French Script). Flowers and butterflies were done using punches by Stampin Up and Martha Stewart. To finish off the card I added some tiny pearls and eggplant ribbon. The sentiment is from the Penny Black clear set Critter Party. I also stamped a little bit of the flourish to the sentiment oval for a little extra color and layered it on a nestabilies label 8 diecut.
Hope you liked my card even though it wasn't my idea and is not my regular style.

it so far. I have just started selling Tastefully Simple and that will hopefully make me enough money to be able to buy more RUBBA! lol! priorities I say lol.... I love to quilt, read and blurph.... I am also thankful to Ellie for choosing me to represent Digital Stamp Oasis...I hope you like my cards and blog... have a great day!!! Mandy S." http://tmcc4.blogspot.com

DTC#47 - A card for Mum

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

I made this project for this week's digital tuesday challenge. Our hostess Lorraine wants to see something for Mom this week, since Mother's day is just weeks away in the UK. But since we don't celebrate Mother's day here in the US for a few more months we can also make a birthday card or just to say I love you, etc.
I actually lost my mom when I was a child, so I made this for myself (I am a mom so I think it counts-right?). The vintage print will be replaced by a photograph of me, my mom and siblings when I was two. This challenge was a great opportunity for me to start with an old family pictures 6x6 scrapbook. (Thanks so much for this challenge Lorraine!!)

Papers are all from a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin Up. The sentiment is also from the set it reads

" Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts".

I embellished with some flowers from Fred She Said and used buttons with some thread as flower centers. I've also added some lace, flourishes and a heart charm.

Hope you'll join us in this challenge, to make a card or other project for a mom. The talented Dustin Pike is our sponsor again and is offering 3 of his fun digis to one lucky winner.
Hope you'll have a fantastic day!!

Recipe:

"I am a stay at home mom with an empty nest as of last December. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart as I have been for the past 25 years. I have 3 children Alicia (25), Peter (24) and Patrick (23). A wonderful son-in-law James (25) and a brand new grandbaby boy Camden (6 weeks)
I spend much of my days paper crafting, blurffing, reading and posting on forums, searching and trying new techniques and challenges, feeling slightly guilty that the dishes are dirty and my husband wore his last clean t-shirt to work today. I also try to keep daily posts on my own blog www.papertransformer.com.
I have been stamping for 3 years this month. What happened 3 years ago to change my life? Well, I was having a home tea party and the demonstrator mentioned that she was having a combined tea/stamping party at her house. I can’t believe it even today, but I invited myself, LOL. I had always been curious about how people made such lovely things with rubber stamps. That was my first exposure to Stampin’ Up, rubber stamps and paper crafting. I signed up to be a SU Demo right away and received my kit the last week of February.
I was introduced to digital stamps 11 months ago through Digital Stamp Oasis. I love the adorable images of the squirrels and the wonderful sketch images which Digital Stamp Oasis carries. It now seems that my rubber is getting a bit dusty, as I learn the in and outs of digital images."

Below is a sampling of Sandy's gorgeous work using images from the Digital Stamp Oasis.

A beautiful envelope book tin using the image

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope you enjoyed Sandy's projects as much as I did and be sure to check out her blog - Paper Transformer - for more fun ideas!

All things girly - DTC46

Happy tuesday everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far!

I made this card for this week's digital tuesday challenge. Lora is our hostess week and she wants to see "all things girly". Loved the challenge because I got to use this brand new (to me) digital stamp from Mo Manning. I just love the dreamy expression on the girl's face.

I colored the image with my copic markers. Designer paper is by Bo Bunny. Other papers are Stampin Up. I embellished with ribbon, flower (SU punch), butterfly(MS punch), brads, stickles, flourish (cuttlebug die), machine stitching.

The sketch is from this week's Create4Fun challenge. The card also fits the following challenges:

Wow, I don't think I ever combined this many challenges!

Thank you so much for visiting me today, hope you liked my card and maybe you'll join us at digital tuesday for a chance to win some goodies from our awesome sponsor "digi sparkle".

Mojo Monday Sketch and Mini Mates

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you're having a good day. I've had a very busy day today and on top of that I had a headache for most of the day. I hope it goes away soon!

I did manage to finish this card. I started with it days ago. The sketch is from Mojo Monday. I combined it with another challenge too, to use dots and stripes, but now I cannot remember what challenge that was. (If anyone knows please let me know!)

I was originally going to use a Penny Black stamp but it just didn't look right so I decided to use this mini stamp from an old retired Stampin Up set (Mini Mates) . The sentiment is from the same set.

Papers are all from stampin up too, as well as ribbon. I used a nestablities Labels 8 (I think) for the inside. To finish off the card I added some green ribbon and glitter to the heart.

Here is a picture of the inside.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Have a fantastic weekend!!

DTC #45 - it's all about the animals

Happy Tuesday everyone! We have a new challenge over at the Digital Tuesday Blog. I am the hostess this week and the challenge I chose is "All about the animals." I hope you'll join us!!

Here is my card for that challenge. I used the cute Susie Squirrel in the rain image from Digital Stamp Oasis. After coloring it with copic markers I cut it out because Susie wasn't in the mood for rain today. LOL.

Card stock is from Stampin Up, designer papers from Basic Grey and Stampin Up. I distressed all edges for a vintage feel. I embellished with brads, ribbon, lace, paper flowers and buttons, a heart charm and some flourishes which were done with a sizzix die that I got from Michaels art store.
I had a few challenges in mind when I made this card, so here they are:

1, Basic Grey - sketch
2. All sorts - Get distressed with buttons and a bow
3. Dare you to digistamp - hearts and/or valentines
4. Cute Card Thursday - Dots and spots
5. stamp with fun - hearts

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you'll have time to play along for a chance to win some digis from the Digital Stamp Oasis. Have a GREAT day.

A tasty treat

Hi everyone!
I can't believe I managed to get this card done all in one day. So happy!! I purchased this digital stamp from Elizabeth Bell a few days ago. I just love it!! So fun to color!!

Used my copic markers for coloring. I added some white highlights with a prismacolor premier pencil. Don't know if you can tell, but there are also tiny dots on her head scarf also done with the prismacolor pencil.

My designer papers are old ones from a stampin up simply scrappin kit. I embellished with some black gingham ribbon, paper flowers and flatback pearls. And then I added a little bit of stickles to the designer paper and flowers for some fun sparkles.

I made this card for a few challenges, first the sketch is from Sketch Saturday. Dutch Dare's challenge is summer in winter. I think my card is pretty summery. Totally paper crafts has a recipe: 3 embellishments, 2 papers, 1 image. My embellishments are flowers, ribbon, pearls. I know there is glitter on the card too, but I seriously don't count glitter as an embellishment. The card also fits this week's Creative Belli Challenge which is Ribbon.
Ok, that's it for today. Hope you liked today's card. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Digital Tuesday Challenge Design Team card.
Have a fantastic day!!

You're on my mind

Happy Saturday to all of you! Hope you're day has been good so far.

Here's a card I've been working on for the last couple of days (yes, sometimes it takes me days to finish a card - coloring one day, choosing papers another day and the putting it all together another day LOL)

The image is from Penny Black. I colored it using Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. The designer paper is from My mind's eye, all other papers are from Stampin Up. I embellished using paper flowers and butterflies, stickles, ribbon and flatback pearls. Oh, and I also used my sewing machine around the edges.

The sketch was ispired by this week's Mojo Monday challenge. And I will also enter this card to this week's Penny Black challenge which is Pearls and Pins. I know the pin is missing on my card, I just could not find them, and I know I have them here somewhere.

That's it from me for today, thanks so much for visiting me today. Hope you liked the card.

DTC #44 - A new fold

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you're having a GREAT day and not too cold weather. It's been ok here, I am not quite ready yet for spring. I want to build one more snowman with the kids before the season is over.

I am however in the mood for more springy cards! I made this card for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge. Anjou is hour hostess and she wants us to try a different fold. While I searched the web of what to do, I came across the flap card and remembered that I wanted to do one before but then forgot about it. So here was my chance. It was actually really easy to do. If you'd like make one of these cards here is the link to the SCS tutorial by Rose Ann.
My card ended up being square though as I goofed with the measurements.

open view

Since I have been neglecting my Susie Squirrel images from the Digital Stamp Oasis for quite some time now, I decided to use one. It was colored using copic markers. Papers are from Stampin Up (chocolate chip and bashful blue prints). I embellished with some punched out flowers, tiny flatback pears, ribbon and stickles for the flowers. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set. The cards stays closed with a small magnet button which I picked up at the local craft store. (Be sure to get the heavy duty ones because I know from experience that the other ones don't keep the flap down when the card is supposed to be closed. )

This card also fits these two challenges so I will be entering it too.
Cupcake Craft Challenge - four legged and furry
Cute Card Thursday - blooming gorgeous

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll play along with this fun challenge. We have a new sponsor too this week - Bee Crafty. They have some really cute digis in store.
