Penny Black meets Sketch Saturday

Hello and a happy sunday to all of you!

I made this card last night using the sketch from sketch saturday. Love this penny black image, it is called "message from above". So fun to color.

The designer paper is a brand new one I just got yesterday from Bo Bunny and the sentiment is from SU. Card stock is all from SU - melon mambo, basic black and kiwi kiss. I used a scallop rectangle nestabilies shape to frame the image and then adhered that to melon mambo card stock. To finish off the card I added some stickles glitter to the flower centers and a prima flower with a button from SU.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog. Hope you like the card.

Penny Black Challenge and Cute Card Thursday

Hello all!

Hope you're having a great weekend so far. We've been enjoying the beautiful weather we had today, and got a couple more things for the school start on monday. I can't believe summer break is over. Where does time go??!! I know I'll have to start working on halloween treat bags for school SOON if I want to get them done in time.

Today's card is for this week's Penny Black saturday challenge and they want to see some stitching on our projects. I love my janome sew mini, but don't use it enough. Maybe I'll start again, because I love the look and feel of sewing on cards. The card also fits this week's cute card thursday challenge which is Lazy Days.

I used one of my new Penny Black stamps "Asking the flowers". Image was colored with copics and a little bit of glitter was added to the flower centers. Papers are all by Stampin Up.

Thank you so much for coming by today, hope you like the card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Penny Black, Stampin Up
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, basic gray, copics
Paper: Whisper White, basic gray, cottage wall designer paper (all SU)

A Birthday Card

Hello and a happy friday to all of you. Hope your day is great. We have sort of an "April-Weather" here today, one minute it is raining then the sun is out again. But I am not complaining at least it is not too hot and not too cold and we get to see the sun sometimes.

The image was a freebie I found while surfing the web. I used to watch the smurfs all the time. Aren't they the cutest!!

I colored it with my copics and added a little bit of sparkle to the candles. The sentiment is computer generated. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, hope you're having a fabulous weekend.

Recipe:
Stamps/images: smurf digi (found online),
Paper: close to cocoa, whisper white, turquoise prints DP (all SU)
Ink: HP inkjet, copics

______________________________________________________________

Hi all,

I am looking for 2 designers who would love to create cards for the digital tuesday challenge blog.
In order to be considered you have to be familiar with digital images, have a blog (or create one if you aren't blogging yet) and update on a regular basis.

As a digital tuesday designer you will have to create one card/project a week following the challenge theme and using a digital object as your focal point on the card. Cards should be done and posted to the challenge blog no later than sunday or monday morning before the challenge tuesday. Each design team member is taking turns hosting the challenge which means you get to choose a challenge and be responsible for posting the challege when it is your turn to host. We try to set challenges a few weeks ahead of time so all designers have plenty of time to work on their cards.

To apply for this design team spot please mention this Design Team call on your blog and then send an email to me (Ellie) at ellibelle_blog@yahoo.com with your name and blog link so I can see your work.

This DT call is open until september 8th but I reserve the right to close it before that date if I have found the designers or extend the time if need be.

Digital Tuesday 20 - masculine/male card

Hi all and thanks so much for stopping by!
It's tuesday and that means a new challenge over at the digital tuesday challenge blog. Emma is our hostess and she challenged us to make a card for a male. That IS challenging, at least for me, because I just love all the pretty colors and glitter, and gems.

I ended up creating a one-layer-card. I printed out the star cutting file from the cutting cafe and cut it out by hand. Then I sponged the edges with more mustard ink and wiped the same ink pad along the edge too. I distressed the edges using the back of my scissors then sponged the star using night of navy ink. My digital element, other than the template is the sentiment which is computer generated. I printed it out using dark blue ink on my printer, and cut it out. Sponged the edges and folded it several times for a distressed look. To get the texture on the star I just randomly "stamped" my ink pad on the star using night of navy ink. The sentiment was attached with a hodgepodge hardware clip and a dimensional. I added more mustard ribbon to finish the card off.

The star template is a cutting file from the cutting cafe. They generously let us design team members choose a file to work with. I chose the star because I thought it would be best for a masculine card. Be sure to check them out, they have several to choose from, and digital stamps too.

If you are up for a challenge today, why not play the digital tuesday challenge for a chance to win some fun stuff from the cutting cafe??!!

Penny Black and a few challenges

Hi all and a happy weekend to you!! We've been having some gorgeous weather here in Illinois and I spent most of the day outside. But I did manage to get this card done after the kids went to bed and I am so happy that I actually got to combine 3 challenges.

I chose the sketch from Friday Sketchers, but had to tweak it just a little bit to make my image work. Then for this week's Penny Black Challenge it is a color challenge, blue, tan and cream are the colors. This card also qualifies for this week's Stamp Something Challenge, which is "summertime". We don't currently have a cat, but this is how my DD looked like just the other day when she was surrounded buy a couple of butterfly. I've seeing the most gorgeous butterflies in my backyard this summer, it must be all those flowers I planted in spring.
Hope you like the card, the recipe is below.

Recipe:
Stamps: Penny Black critter party, delight (SU)

Ink: creamy caramel, close to cocoa
Paper: chocolate chip, creamy caramel, very vanilla, DCWV butterflies and blossoms designer paper
Accessories: prismacolor pencils, baby oil and stumps for blending, big kick, rectangle scallop nestabilities, MS butterfly punch, SU word window punch, buttons, stickles, sponge for sponges edges

Digital Tuesday #19 - A sketch challenge

Hello and a happy tuesday to all my blog visitors!!

The challenge over at Digital Tuesday today is a sketch and it was my turn to host the challenge. This sketch was a real challenge for me even though I picked it. (Note to self: make card first then decide on sketch LOL).

I used my Susie Squirrel in the rain image by Digital Stamp Oasis. It was colored with copics and cut out. The designer Paper is the new SU designer paper Cottage Wall. I absolutely love it and had a hard time cutting it. It is so beautiful.

I really wanted to add some more embellishments but it just didn't look right, so I just added the butterfly and some stickles to Susie's flower as well as the flower centers on the designer paper.

If you're up for a sketch challenge, head on over to the digital tuesday challenge blog, we also have a new sponsor this week, Wendy from Digital Delights is giving a way a $10 gift certificate to her store. Maybe YOU will be the lucky winner!

Recipe:
stamps: digistamp: susie squirrel in the rain (Digital stamp Oasis), Beautiful Beach (Stampin Up)
Papers: Old olive, rich razzleberry, GP white, cottage wall DP (all SU except white)
Ink: HP inkjet, memento tuxedo black, copics for coloring
Accessories: stickles. martha stewart butterfly punch, SU word window punch, brads

Love this color combo!!

Hello and a happy monday. I hope you are having a great start of the week!
This card was inspired by one of the cards on the front page of the new stampin up catalog. I just loved the color combo and will be using it again!!

I found this image online, a freebie coloring page from Elizabeth O. Dulemba. Her art is just beautiful. Image was colored with copics and cut out.

This little fairy actually sits on a stack of books but I cut it out without those books. Card stocks used are bermuda bay, crushed curry and soft suede. I used close to cocoa grosgrain ribbon and ink for sponging as I don't have any in-color inks. To finish off the card I did a little bit of paper piercing and added a few pearls, as well as stickles to the wings. The sentiment is from stampabilities.

Thanks so much for visting my blog today, I'll be back again tomorrow with my Digital Tuesday Challenge card. Have a great Monday!!

Recipe:
stamps: digi by Elizabeth Dulemba, stampabilities
ink: HP inkjet, craft white, close to cocoa
paper: bermuda bay, crushed curry, soft suede (all SU), GP white
accessories: cocoa grosgrain ribbon, stickles, pearls, CM cutting system, paper piercing tool kit, sponge

A new stamp and a couple of challenges

Hello and a happy saturday to all of you. I made this card last night for this week's cute card thursday challenge to use the colors teal and red. It also fits the challenge over at stamp something which is to use a charm on your project.

I used the lavender fairy stamp by stamps happen. It is large stamp and I had a hard time getting a good image. It took me many tries and it still is not perfect. How I wish this would be a digital stamp!!

Image was colored with copics. For my papers I used the new SU bermuda bay and real red card stock.
I added stickles to the fairy wings and the butterfly as wel as the bermuda bay edge on the left side. To finish the card off, I added a couple of prima flowers, with a large flower charm that came from a claire's boutique necklace that I purchased for 75% off. (I love clearence everything!!).

Thanks so much for visting my blog today. Recipe is below.

Recipe:
stamps: Stamps happen - lavender fairy, stampin up - wonderful words
paper: bermuda bay, real red, bristol vellum board white
ink: memento tuxedo black, copics
accessories: prima flowers, metal flower charm, stickles, ribbon

A new image and new paper too

Hi all, hope your day has been good! I did a lot of house cleaning today, plus DH complained about me being on the computer too much so I am just now uploading the card I made last night.

I just found a new Digi-store on etsy. It is called Digital Pencil. Edited to add: Digital Pencil images are now also available here at Mo's own online store found here: Mo's Digital Pencil. The images are just gorgeous. And when I saw this one, I knew right away I had to have it, because that bunny in the picture looks just like my daughter's little plush bunny.

I used copics to color the image. I sponged the edges a little bit for a softer look. My designer paper is from "paper pizazz". I used the martha stewart corn flower punch for the larger flowers and SU's flower trio punch for the small flowers. Added a scallop edge border and punched a little whole thru each scallop, then did some stitching with my janome mini. To finish off the card I added some halfback pearls, ribbon and stickles. Sentiment is from SU's retired set Happy heart day. Thanks so much for visting my blog today. Hope you liked the card!

Digital Tuesday #18 meets friday sketchers

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. I made this card for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge with help from the Sketch from this week's friday sketchers.

Carisa is the hostess this week and she wanted to see us use bling in our projects. How fun is that! I love bling!

My Grafico is our sponsor this week and they generously let us Design Team members choose a set to create our cards with. We went with Slumber Party, a perfect set for bling. It is actually a set of over 15 images, I only used one of the images on this card.

My image was colored using Copics. I used pink, black and white card stock, designer paper from DCWV. I punched out black circled in place of rhinestone brads (they are lost) and added pink rhinestones on top of the circle. They didn't look very sparkly so I added stickles on top of the rhinestones. I also added rhinestones to the girls hair-"bows" and the flower center, and more stickles to the designer paper as well as the white edges. The sentiment is from stampin up's set "warm words" .
I hope you'll join us this week for the challenge. My Grafico is giving away one of their cute digi sets and they have so many awesome ones to choose from!! If you haven't been to their site yet and /or haven't tried digital stamps yet, head on over to their site, they even have some beautiful freebies that you can download.

Penny Black Challenge #60 - Summer

I think yesterday while working on the upcoming Digital Tuesday Challenge, I actually found my mojo again. Yippie! So today I can show you a new card I made for today's Penny Black Challenge, with the theme "Summer".

I used a brand new Penny Black image, called "guess what", that I purchased a few weeks ago, can you believe it took me this long to ink it up??!!

I colored it with prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. Did some sponging along the edge in bashful blue and then adhered to a scallop nesties rectangle. This was also my first time using the new in colors, even though I've had them since the second week of July. I used the pink one (I think it's called melon mambo) as my card base and used a SU jumbo wheel (Doodle) with white craft ink on the top edge. Designer Paper is SU's olive prints. To finish this card off I stamped the sentiment with chocolate chip ink, added the ribbon and prima flowers with pearl centers and a little bit of stickles to the flower that the mouse is holding. The main image was popped up with dimensionals.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Hope you like my card!
