Critters and Creatures Linky Party - Taking a Break

Happy Monday everyone!
You might have already read on the post for my Let's Color Linky party, that I will be taking a break from both linky parties. I just don't seem to be able to get much paper crafting done at the moment. So I have nothing new to share today, but wanted to share the top choices from the month of November.

A big thank you to all of you for playing along last month!
Lots of wonderful entries and as always, it was really hard to pick favorites, but I did manage, and here are the top choices in no particular order:

Shell B.

Babs

Melanie R.

Congratulations ladies!
Your top choice badge is below.

A huge thank you to all of you that played along in my Linky parties over the last 9 months, it was always so much fun to visit your blogs and to see what you made!
I hope to return with the linky party again in February. In the meantime I will still continue to share my handmade creations here on my blog whenever I get a chance.

Have a great week!!

Critters & Creatures Linky Party 9 - November

Happy Monday and thanks so much for stopping by! It's time for the November Critters and Creatures Linky Party! Thanks to everyone that played along last month! It's always great seeing so many of you play along!! Be sure to scroll down to see if your entry was a top choice.

As always anything goes featuring a critter or creature
This means it has to be the main focal point on your creation, and cannot be a little bug or butterfly.
Of course bugs or butterflies are fine to use, as long as they are the focal point.

How about an optional theme this time?
Create an outdoor scene using a critter or creature. This is totally optional and just for some added fun.
I decided to play with some new dies today and a cute snowman for my creature. Tree dies and snowman are both from Penny Black. The little snowman has been stamped onto xpress it card and colored with copic markers, then fussy cut.
I used masking fluid to create the snowy background, it was applied with a paint brush, let dry then inked with distress ink. The snowy hills were done by simply tearing some paper, and I added wink of stella for some sparkle. A glittered snowflake (MS punch) was added as an embellishment. Sentiment also by Penny Black.

I did a little bit of stamping on the inside using a pine tree stamp from Penny Black and old sentiment from Stampin Up.
This card is listed in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto the top choices, as always it's hard to choose but here they are in no particular order:

Meg

Twisted Witch - Lin
DV 174 Birthday

Chris

Congratulations!! Your top pick badge for your blogs is below.

Now it's time to get out another critter or creature to feature! Can't wait to see what you make!
You have until November 30th 10pm CST to link up.
A few things to remember:
Focal point must be a critter or creature
No back-linking to older creations
Post must include link back here
Combine with any other challenges

Happy Stamping!!

Critters and Creatures Linky Party 8

Good morning, happy Monday and welcome to the new Critters & Creatures Linky Party! So happy you decided to stop by here today!! It was wonderful seeing so many of you join in last month, be sure to scroll down to see if your creation was a top choice.

As usual, the theme here is simple
anything goes but the focal point must be a critter or creature.
(animal, insect, sea life, imaginary creature).

For today I decided to create a cute Christmas card using another one of Penny Black's cute kitties.
Colored with copic markers and this time I fussy cut the image to fit my design.
The green paper is actually SU's wild wasabi, but I added wink of stella to make it sparkle. Patterned paper is by Whimsy Stamps (retired) and I used gold cord and some sticky dots as embellishments. Sentiment is from a Penny Black sentiment set.
If you're interested in purchasing the cute set I used today, you can find it brand new here in my Etsy shop.
As you can see it includes several cute critters :-)
Cute Critter Stamps, Cat Stamp, Christmas Animal Stamps, Christmas cat, Hedgehog stamp, Christmas Mouse, cute Penny Black stamp set
The card has also been listed, and you can find it here on Etsy.

Critters & Creatures Linky Party 7

Happy Monday and Welcome to the September Critters and Creatures Linky Party!!
Lots of wonderful entries again last month, it's always so nice seeing many of you join in! Be sure to scroll down to see if your entry was a top pick.

As usual, anything goes here as long as you feature a Critter or Creature.

I used one of my newer Penny Black stamp sets today, Buddy and Duck. I also have this set available brand new in my Etsy shop for US shipping if you are interested.
I thought this cute duck was perfect for a baby shower card or new baby card, and that's what I decided to make.
Image was heat embossed using versafine onyx ink and embossing powder on bristol vellum card stock, then water colored using my Zig Clean Color bush pens. An old SU stamp was used for the random dots on the white background paper. Designer paper I  believe is by Authenique, picked up at Hobby Lobby. Sentiment is from the Penny Black clear set Snippets, another set I have available brand new on Etsy.
I added a little button and twine for embellishments and did some zig-zag machine sewing to finish it off.
Dimensionals were used to adhere the the image to make it pop up a little. I also used clear wink of stella on the umbrella, but you can't see it in the photo, because I've done that after I took the photos :-) :-)
The card is listed here in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto the top 3, as always it's super hard to choose, but I did manage and here they are in no particular order.

Sarah

A stunning design using mostly black and white!

Critters and Creatures Linky Party 6

Happy Monday :-)
I took a month off from my linky parties, but as mentioned back in June, I would return in August or sooner. So welcome to the new Critters and Creatures Linky Party. It was fun visiting you all, although a little bit belated (in fact I only realized last friday that there was a whole second page of entries, so some of you just recently received a comment). Lots of wonderful entries again! Be sure to scroll down to see if your creation was a top pick.

As always, anything goes here, just be sure to
keep the focus on a
Critter or Creature.
This can be an animal, fish, bird, fairy, gnome, dragon, etc.

I inked up the cute set Jazzy Cats by Penny Black and created a somewhat masculine card.
This set is available brand new in my Etsy shop (for US shipping), if you're interested. Card has been listed for sale there too.

Image has been colored with copic markers on xpress it blending card. I stamped some music notes onto two of the corners using distress ink and lightly inked the white edges using the same blush ink to soften the bright white a little bit. Sentiment is from the set Snippets. Designer paper from Hobby Lobby and card stock by Stampin Up. A button and some jute twine were used as embellishments and I did some machine sewing to finish off the card.

A little peek inside...
I used another kitty stamp from the same set, and xoxoxo from the Snippets set.

Now onto the top picks. As always it was hard to choose but I did narrow it down, and here are my top picks in no particular order:

Kuni

Linda

Congratulations ladies! Below is your top pick badge for your side bars.

Can't wait to see what creature you will feature this time around. Simply leave a link to your blog post with inlinkz below. Unfortunately my paid inlinkz account has expired, and I didn't realize they were going to increase the cost by so much (more than double). So for now textlinks only.

PS: Just a quick note to mention that I try my very best to comment on all your entries. However, I cannot comment on blogs requiring a google plus account, and I might be unable to comment on some online gallery entries. I do have a Splitcoast account and Flickr account, but I am sure there are some galleries or forums that I am not a member of and therefore won't be able to comment.

Critters & Creatures Linky Party 5

Happy Monday and welcome to Critters and Creatures Linky Party 5! This is also most likely going to be my last post until July. I am having family staying with us from overseas during the month of June, we have some fun things planned and I just want to spend time with them so no paper crafting for me during this time.

Thank you everyone that played along in the last Critters and Creatures linky party. It's always lots of fun to come see what you created. Be sure to scroll down to see if your creation was a top pick.

As always the theme here is:
Anything goes with a Critter or Creature as the focal point
(Animals, bugs, sea life, fantasy creatures)

And here is what I made.
I had already colored this image a while ago while trying out my zig clean color brush pens, but didn't really like my coloring so I set it aside. Well, it came in handy now since I am short of time at the moment, so I decided to use it after all.
A quick and easy card to create using a simple sketch.

The cute stamp set and sentiment set I used here are both currently available in my Etsy shop.

------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the top picks, it is always so hard to choose but I did manage, and here are my top picks in no particular order:

Lorraine A

Critters & Creatures Linky Party 4

Good morning blogging friends!! Hope your week is off to a great start! We've had a rainy weekend here in the midwest, no idea what the weather will be like today, but I sure hope we'll get to see a little bit of sunshine today :-)

Time already for a new Critters and Creatures Linky Party!
Thanks to everyone that joined in last month, it's always lots of fun to come see what creature or critter you are featuring! Be sure to scroll down to the end of this post to see if your entry was one of the top choices.

As usual, the theme here is
Anything Goes
with a Critter or Creature as the focal point!

I  colored up the cute stamp Prize Cupcake for my card today, using Zig clean color brush pens on Winsor & Newton watercolor marker pad.
The sentiment is from the set Sprinkles and Smiles, also from Penny Black.

I used a clear wink of stella brush pen to add some sparkles to the cupcake and cherry.
The sparkles can be seen below.

As you can see the card has been kept pretty simple. I just matted the image onto designer paper, added a strip of matching paper and a scallop paper between the sentiment and image. Then I added some white twine and did machine sewing along the edges. A really old, but one of my favorite simple SU flowers was stamped right over the sentiment in a light lilac shade, and I have done the same thing on inside of the card.
Please excuse the marks you see on the white card stock on the inside of the card. I have a few smudges on my camera lens that I have no idea how to get rid off...I usually try to crop them off the card, but wasn't able to in this photo, because I didn't pay attention when I took the photo.

I have listed the card in my Etsy shop if you are not a card maker, but interested in handmade creations.
The card has been sold.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto last month's top choices...as always it's so hard to narrow it down! But I did manage and here they are in no particular order:

Gail Lett
Digi Choosday, Week 15, Embossing, Polkadoodles
Janis in ID

Critters and Creatures Linky Party 3

Hello and welcome to the new - April -
Critters and Creatures Linky party!!

It was great seeing so many of you play along last month! I ran a little behind visiting you all (kids and hubby were both home last week from school and work), but I finally did catch up. So many wonderful critter entries! Be sure to scroll down to see if your entry was one of my top picks.

As always for this linky party
anything goes but the focal point must be a critter or creature.

Here is what I made .
This was the first image I colored with my new Zig Clean Color brush pens. They are so much fun to use, but I find not all images are equally easy to color with these pens, at least for me. These Penny Black critters were easy for me because of their sketchy style.
I kept the card CAS, just embellished with a little flower and brad and did some machine sewing.

Products used:
Critter fun (available in my Etsy shop)
Winsor & Newton watercolor marker pad
Snap Designer Paper Pad (from Hobby Lobby)
Zig Clean Color brush pens
Zig details waterbrush
prima flower and brad

In case you are interested in brushstroke stamps,
I just recently added one of each of these to my etsy

Now onto last month's top choices,  there were so many wonderful entries and it was really hard to choose. But I did manage to narrow it down finally, so here are my top choices in no particular order:

As always, the theme is:
Anything goes with a critter or creature

Spring and Easter are right around the corner, so I decided to color up these cute Easter Chicks from a Penny Black clear set.

Image has been colored with copic markers on xpress it blending card. I added the die cut clouds (Memory box die set) to create a little scene and I inked up the background with mostly blue distress ink and some green on the bottom. A few prima flowers with brads and a little button with some twine were added as embellishments. The image panel has then been adhered onto an embossed card front using pop up tape.

Here is a close up:
And this is the inside. I used another cute stamp from the set. This sentiment is from an old retired Stampin Up Easter Set.
This card is listed for sale in my Etsy shop, if you are intersted.
