Ice Cream Truck

I have a cute card to share today using the new clear set Ice Cream Truck from Whimsy's recent release. This set was illustrated by Krista Heij-Barber. Love her style and I find her images so easy to color with Zig Clean Color brush pens.

This cute truck was stamped onto Bristol Velum card stock and colored with the Zig brush pens using an aquamarker. This set also includes some cute ice cream cones, the music notes I used over th sentiment and a sentiment, but I used a sentiment from the set Bottle cap greetings. Unfortunately I just realized that it must have retired, as I cannot find it in the Whimsy shop anymore. But I did find the bottle cap die (not used on my card) in the retiring section. Oh, and if you are looking for some fun stamps on clearance, check out the Whimsy Stamps clearance section for some great deals.
I kept the card CAS, simply embellished with sequins and clear Wink of Stella was added to the ice cream. Yes, it's hard to see, but I like the subtle shimmer.

Also, don't forget about my Let's Color Linky Party. I am now running it monthly, so I have just moved the linky over here to this post. You have another week to play along :-) If you'd like to see the original post for Let's Color Linky Party 9 with the top choice winners simply click here.

Sundae Funday/ Whimsy Stamps May Rubber Stamp Release

Happy Friday!!
It's day 3 of the Whimsy Stamps inspiration posts. For today I am actually using a clear stamp set, which is also from the newest: Sundae Funday from the Krista Heij- Barber collection.

This fun image has been stamped onto Canson Mixed Media card stock using black stazon ink, and then watercolored using Zig clean color brush pens.
Sentiment is part of this clear set. Designer paper is from a DCWV adhesive stack. The dotted paper under the sentiment is actually a strip of washi tape. A wink of stella brush pen was used on the whipped cream, you can see the sparkle in the photo below.
I don't know where Wink of Stella has been all my life!!! I just got my first pen when I ordered the Zig Brush pens a few weeks ago. I just love how it goes on so smoothly and isn't chunky at all, and give this light shimmer. I like this so much better than stickles glitter!!

Here is the inside, using stamps from the same set.

Don't forget to go link up on the Whimsy blog for a chance to win one of the gift certificates!

Have a great day!!

Let's Color Linky Party 9

Hello and welcome to another Let's Color Linky party where
Anything Goes with something colored!

I have made a tiny little change, starting today, this linky party will be monthly, as I am having some serious issues with lost crafting mojo and generally feeling a little down too on top of that. Not a good combination...
Maybe I'll do some more garden work this weekend, that might help cheer me up. I bought a few raspberry plants the other day, that are still waiting to get planted, and still more work to do to prepare my garden for the vegetable plants....

Thank you all that played along in the last linky party. It was fun seeing all your wonderful entries. Be sure to scroll down to see if you were one of the top choices.

For today I made a CAS get well card.

The image is actually from a baking set from Whimsy Stamps (Baked with Love), but I thought these cute bowls would make a cute get well card.
Bowls were stamped onto watercolor marker card stock (Winsor & Newton) and water colored with Zig clean color brush pens. The border around the image was done freehand using a thin micron pen. Ivory jute twine and some sequins were used as embellishments, and I also added a layered butterfly. Finished off the card by adding some washi tape. The sentiment is from the set Everyday Moments, also from Whimsy Stamps. I think the designer paper is from a newer pattern pack I picked up from Joann's.

A little close up below.
I have listed this card in my Etsy shop.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now onto my top choices, as always it wasn't easy to choose, but I did manage and here are my favorite 3 in no particular order:

Donna Ellis
I just love how she colored the leaves and flowers, a beautiful overall design.

J. Atterbury Creations
also a beautiful design, and love how she colored each butterfly a different color.

 Cicci vid pennan
This beautiful piece of art has all been hand drawn and hand colored by Cicci.
Wish I had those kind of copic skills!!!!

Congratulations!!! Wonderful coloring/drawing everyone!
Below is your top choice logo for your side bar.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now it's time to get out those pencils/markers/pens/inks again and get coloring!!!
This linky party will stay open until May 31st, a new linky party will start Saturday, June 4th!
Can't wait to see what you all will be coloring up this time!

Just a few reminders:
Must include something colored
Blog post must include link back here
Unlimited entries and feel free to combine with other challenges
Anything goes with something colored

Happy Present :-)

Good morning, hope you're having a good weekend so far! Warmer weather here in the midwest this weekend, the Winter hasn't been too bad, but I am ready for spring!
Today I am sharing a quick and easy birthday card. This fun stamp - Happy Present-  from Whimsy Stamps was perfect for this.
I simply stamped it onto xpress it card, colored with copic markers and then mounted it onto a golden yellow and colorful striped paper. The "happy happy" is part of this fun little happy present stamp set, "Birthday" was masked off from another Whimsy Stamp set.

Belated Birthday

Happy Friday!
Did you  check out the Whimsy blog yet to see how you can enter to win one of the 3 wonderful prizes? If not, you still have plenty of time! Super easy to enter too, you can read about all the details here

For my Whimsy card today I used the super cute stamp Butterfly, Snail, Toadstool from the KHB collection. Loved coloring up this cutie! I had colored it with copics a few days go, but wasn't 100% happy with how the large mushroom turned out. And since I do love coloring so much and had extra free time, I decided to get out my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and do some more coloring :-)

Aren't these critters adorable!! I thought they'd make a great belated birthday card :-)
Anyway, the image has been stamped onto Brisol Vellum card stock. I used baby oil for blending. Baby oil in place of mineral spirits work great with these pencils, as they contain oil pigments.
The designer paper is from my stash, it's also from Whimsy, but no longer available. Sentiment is from the set Simple Everyday Greetings from a previous release.
This is a flat card with no added embellishments or glitter. Loving how it turned out! I can't even remember when the last card I made didn't have some sort of twine, ribbon or glitter on it.

Above is a picture of the inside.
I used a sentiment from the set Birthday Greetings and stamped a couple butterflies.

Above is a closeup view of the cute image.

Candy Cane Bear

Happy Thursday! Hope you're all doing good and are enjoying some nice Fall weather. Beautiful sunny  but windy day here today. Definitely Fall!

Yesterday I had some time to ink up and color a new Christmas stamp from Whimsy stamps, and I even had time to create this card :-) Always happy when that happens as usually I do my coloring on one day and then make the card another day.

The image has been colored with copic markers on xpress it blending card. Then fussy cut. The hill was cut using Whimsy's stitched border trio die. I stamped the image again onto the card front before adhering the image. The cute sentiment is from an older Whimsy set "mini holiday postmarks". I used the matching mini postage die to cut it out. Embellished with glitter and gold cord. And I used a white Faber Castell Pitt marker to make snowflakes on the blue paper.

Products used:
(the above are all from Whimsy Stamps)
I also used
SU cardstock and designer paper,
 xpress it blending card, neenah
 gold cord, stickles glitter

Whimsy Stamps - June Release Blog Hop Day 2

Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for visiting!

Yesterday some the Whimsy Stamps Designers kicked off the June Rubber Stamps and Dies release week by hosting the first blog hop of the month, and today we are continuing the fun with  another blog hop. And of course another chance to win a Whimsy Prize.
The hop links can be found at the bottom of my post. All you have to do is visit each Designer's blog and leave a comment at each stop - the prize is hidden in in one of the designer's blogs.

Today we are showing you creations made with stamps illustrated by Mi Ran, Krista Heij-Barber and Elisabeth Bell.

I decided to ink up the cute stamp Tea Time Mouse, from the Krista Heij-Barber collection. And here is my creation.

This little mouse actually made a big tea mess on the original stamp, but I decided to fussy cut the teacup and leave the mess off :-)

I kept my card design pretty simple, by using a simple sketch and embellished with only a little button and twine. The fun postmark sentiment is part of a set also releasing this week - simple sayings postage package. I cut it out using Whimsy's s mini postage die, which is from an older release. Designer paper is very old, from Stampin Up.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop!

Have fun hopping, and check back tomorrow for our grand blog hop and another chance to win!!

Bokeh technique ...first try

For today I decided to try a new to me technique - the bokeh technique. I've come across so many beautiful cards on Instagram using this technique that I wanted to give it a try. The image that I had colored yesterday was perfect for the bokeh background.

I wish I  could link to a video, but I don't have one I followed. I did watch part of a video that used SU products, but I decided to use dylusions inks with water and gesso for my background.

Since it's my first time doing this, I really don't have how to photos to show you either, as I had no idea what I was doing LOL.
But if you google it, you'll find several how-to videos.

The bokeh circles are hard to see in my photo above, I think it's a bit more visible below.

Product list:
 (all by whimsy stamps)
Dylusions ink (diluted in a bit of water)
Gesso, watercolor brush and aqua painter
Memento ink, copics for image
Twine, sequins, glitter
Circle punches to create stencil for bokeh circles

Thanks so much for stopping by. I will update this post later to add product links.

Happy Cupcake

Good morning!
It's snowing again...as much as I do love winter and playing in the snow, I hate driving in it! And I had to today since school wasn't cancelled. We got lots of snow on Sunday. The kids and I were out in it because it was perfect for playing with (until the afternoon). We built a couple minecraft inspired snowmen :) and a couple snow animals. I think I had a bit too much fun, as my neck and back are still hurting from it.

I recently needed a birthday card for a little boy who just turned 7, and I thought this cute cupcake stamp from Whimsy stamps was perfect for the occasion.

I started out by stamping the cupcake onto xpress it blending card, colored it with copics and then fussy cut.
For the background I used 110lb recollections card stock. I used 2 clear stamps sets from Whimsy stamps - basic borders and distressed backgrounds to add a little interest to the card. The sentiment is from an older set also by Whimsy - Birthday Greetings. There is another part of the sentiment, but I masked it off, and then stamped that part on the inside. (Sorry, I didn't take a photo of the inside.)
For the lines on the bottom portion of the card, I used one of Whimsy's photopolymer sets - basic borders and backgrounds. I used another photopolymer set for chickenwire -distressed backgrounds and ink splats. Whimsy's little star die was used for the stars on the card. I finished it off by rounding the corners on the bottom and added some glitter to the sprinkles.

Product List:
(all of the above are from Whimsy Stamps)
xpress blending card, 110lb recollections card stock, SU card stock
memento ink, distress ink

I am playing along here:
Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly  Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays  - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - H is for... Happy Cupcake or Happy Day
And here is one of our snowy creations :-)
And a beautiful photo by the lake.
I just can't get enough of beautiful winter scenery photos :-) Doesn't the bright blue sky look beautiful against the snow?!!!

Have a great day everyone!
