Summertime --- DTC13

Hello and a happy tuesday!! Hope you are having a wonderful day so far!
I made today's card for the Digital Tuesday Challenge #13. The very talented Michelle is our hostess this week and Summertime is the theme she chose.

I used one of Dustin Pike's freebies as the main image for this card. I thought this image would be perfect for the challenge.

The card is kept pretty simple, Image was colored with copics, and stickles was added for a little sparkle. To finish it off I added the buttons which are from a big bag of buttons I got for cheap at walmart. Card stocks used are groovy guava (retired su), going gray, cert. celery, summer sun and gp white. I also used the wheel "doodle" from SU on the top white card stock panel.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I hope you liked the card and hopefully you'll get a chance to visit the digital tuesday challenge blog. Dustin Pike is giving away 3 of his adorable digis to one lucky winner. Maybe you can play along too!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #12 ---Use your scraps

Hello and a wonderful tuesday to all of you! Hope your day is going good so far.
It is time for another fun challenge over at the DTC blog. Plus we have a new sponsor again - Squigglegly is giving away 3 of their super cute images to one lucky winner.
The challenge hostess this week is Martha. She chose a wonderful challenge, something I personally should challenge myself to do more often!

Use your scraps of paper.

I have whole box full of designer paper scraps, and I look thru it every time I make a card. Funny, that most of the time I don't have just the right paper in there and another full sheet of DP is being started. So for today's card, before I even started coloring the image, I looked thru the box and colored my image according to the papers I chose to use. My image is from the Digital Stamp Oasis, it is actually called Susie squirrel loves dandelions, but today she loves these sweet pink flowers.
This time I used prismacolor pencils with baby oil for coloring. I did some distressing and also some sewing. The pink and green Designer Papers are from SU, I do not remember who makes the brown designer paper. The sentiment is also from SU. I embellished with white grosgrain ribbon, some prima flowers with rhinestones and stickles.

Thanks so much for vising my blog today, hope you liked my card. And hopefully you will find some time to visit the DTC blog to see the other super talented Design Team member's creations and maybe even play along for a chance to win 3 digital stamps form Squigglefly.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #11-----A recipe

Hello and happy tuesday!I hope you are enjoying your day. I am having a wonderful time with family visiting that I only get to see once a year.

I made today's card for the Digital Tuesday Challenge# 11. Maria is the hostess this time and she chose a fun recipe as the challenge.

***Use any shade of blue and brown, plus bling/glitter***

How fun is that!! Blues and browns are definitely two of my favorite colors. Plus I don't think I have made a card without bling for quite some time. DTC also has a new sponsor this week, Doodle palace. They have some wonderful cute images for sale at their etsy store, so be sure to check them out.
The image I used on today's card is one of their images, it is called "Buddy the puppy takes a bath". Isn't he just the sweetest? I had so much fun coloring the image!!
For my blue I went with tempting turquoise and for my brown I chose chocolate chip. I also had the designer paper with flowers in my stash, it was perfect for these colors. I do not know who the maker is. The other designer paper is SU's turquoise prints. I added stickles to the polka dots and the flower centers on the designer papers. Not sure if you can tell by the picture, but I also added crystal effects to the water to give it a wet look. To finish off the card, I added the prima flowers with rhinestone, as well as a small rhinestone in each corner.

I hope you liked today's card, and I hope you will be able to play the DT challenge this week, for a chance to win some images from the Doodle Palace.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #10 - make/decorate a bag or box

Hello and happy tuesday!
It is time for another fun challenge over at the digital tuesday challenge blog. The hostess this week is Lora, and she challenged us to create - not a card this time around- but make or decorate a bag. I almost never do this, so this was challenging for me.

But I loved doing this project. I found a wonderful template over on SCS's technique lover's challenge forum for a butterfly bag. And what better image to use than this gorgeous digi stamp from Fred, She said. Isn't Emma with butterfly adorable? And she is so much fun to color.

The bag template was printed on white card stock and cut out. I then sponged the sky and grass. Emma was colored with copics, cut out and mounted with dimensionals. I cut the strip of grass and added it for a little more texture. The butterflies were punched out with a martha stewart punch and the flowers with SU's flower trio punch. To finish this bag off, I added stickles to Emmas shoes, a few tiny rhinestones, as well stickles all around the bag. The sentiment is from SU's SAB set "Yummy". This little gift bag is perfect for a gift card or a small box of chocolates.

Now it is your turn to create or decorate a bag or box, I hope you will join the Digital Tuesday challenge this week. My grafico is the sponsor again this week and they are giving away one of their adorable digi-sets to one lucky winner.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, hope you are having a wonderful day!

LSC223 - Let's shed some layers

Hello and happy Friday!! So glad I could manage to make a card today, and I was so happy to see that today's LSC on SCS was a one layer card. I love the lots of layer cards but some days I just have enough time for a quick card.

My image is from the clear Penny Black set "critter party". I love this cute little puppy. (As I do all Penny Black stamps!!).
The square where the puppy is stamped on is embossed, after I stamped and colored the dog, I lightly sponged the square using bashful blue ink. Then applied stickles all around it.
I used white as a card base and used SU's scallop edge punch and added strip of purely pomegranate card stock underneath that just for a little bit of color.
The sentiment is from SU's retired set "Wonderful Words". To finish this simple card off, I added a punched out flower (which I also applied stickles too) and a rhinestone brad, as well as some white grosgrain ribbon.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #9 ...it's a sketch

Hello and happy tuesday! Can you believe it is already June! Wow, time is surely flying.
Today's card was made for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge.
Jenn is the hostess this week and she create a wonderful sketch to work with.
I decided to use "Sammy Squirrel eats strawberries" from the Digital Stamp Oasis. It is one of my favorite images that my husband drew. And it is so much fun to color!
The sketch
The designer papers that you see are actually just one single sheet of designer paper. It is from the "sweet stack" from DCWV. Image was colored with copics, I sponged the edges with certainly celery ink to soften it a little bit. I embellished with sizzix flourishes, prima flowers and the ribbon. The sentiment was made on the computer. For a little sparkle I added rhinestones to the flower centers and stickles to the strawberry leaves.
Be sure to check out the challenge blog to view the other cards created by the super talented DT for this challenge. Plus Digital Stamp Oasis is sponsoring this week, one lucky participant will win 3 digis of her choice.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, I hope you are having a wonderful day and I hope you get to create something fabulous!!
