All you need is Love

Happy Monday everyone!
I had a little playtime this weekend, and decided to ink up the gorgeous stamp set "All you need is Love" by Whimsy's SC Designs. Came up with this cute "Love" themed card.

I first started by stamping the small hearts on the top border of the card front in pink ink. Using the same ink I stamped the winged  heart at an angle. Both sentiments were stamped  using basic gray ink. I added some small dots using an old SU stamp set. To finish the card off I glittered the little dots. A quick card to recreate.

Here is a close up. What a fun card to make, and so easy to recreate!
I'd love to play along in a few challenges:

Whimsy Stamps -January Release Day 5 Blog Hop

Hello and thanks for visiting! Today is Whimsy Stamp's last day of blog hops for our January Rubber Stamp and die release. I hope you enjoyed the last 4 days of hops, and picked up lots of inspiration.
You have until Saturday noon EST to hop along in today's hop, don't forget to comment along the way for a chance to win. During these 5 day hops, 4 winners will be selected who each will win 2 new release stamps!! Winners will be announced on Monday on the Whimsy Stamps Blog.

Here is what I created today, using the super cute stamp "Miss Frosty" illustrated by Sylvia Zet.

Isn't the image adorable!! And although Christmas is over, we are still in the midst of winter here, it's been such a bitterly cold one this year for us...that I really wish it was over. But it is never too early to start cards for next year. Since I really am wanting to make Christmas cards each month this year, this was a perfect start!

It's a very CAS card as you can see. Just added a little bit of designer paper, and the sentiment with a little button and twine. Of course it needed glitter too! And I don't know if you can tell, but I added some glassy glaze onto the berries. Colored with copic markers.

To hop along in today's hop, just visit each DT member listed below, and don't forget to leave comments.

Have a fabulous day everyone!!
Products used:

Whimsy Stamps Rubber and Die January Release Day!!

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by!
Today is Release Day over at Whimsy Stamps and we are on day 3 of our 5-day long blog hop. Today Whimsy Stamps is releasing several new stamps and stamp sets, new shapeology dies and designer papers by our Illustrators and Artists Crissy Armstrong, Sylvia Zet, Elisabeth Bell, Raindrop Echo Designs, Michele R. designs, and our brand new Illustrators/graphic designers Sandy Allnock, Cathy Delannsay and Simonne Clay.

You can see the full reveal on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog

I hope you'll hop along with us today, and don't forget to leave comments along the way! During this 5 day release there will be several prize stops, and the days and locations are secret. So you'll want to be sure to hop along each day!

Today I am showing you a card created with the new stamp set illustrated by our new artist
Sandy Allnock - "Skylar and Trigger".
Almost all of the stamps I used on the card are from the same set, the only thing that isn't is the row of red stars on top. They are from the set "Everyday Moments" by SC Designs (Simonne Clay Designs).

I colored the image using copic markers. To make the little dots on the horse I simply used an old SU stamp. The "floor" was made by swiping an ink pad across the bottom part of the card stock.

I simply embellished with some twine and a button, and did some machine sewing.

To hop along with us today, just visit the blogs below:

Whimsy Stamps - January Rubber Release SNEAK PEEK day 1

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the January Whimsy Stamps Rubber and Die release Sneak Peek!!

We are having a little change this year. Instead of the monthly release, Whimsy Stamps is now releasing every other month instead. So there won't be a release in February, but of course we will still show you plenty of Whimsy projects throughout the next month and into March, using goodies from the January release. If you like whimsy stamps be sure to follow all the amazing Whimsy designers so you don't miss any projects (I have all DT members listed on my side bar.) And don't forget about our Facebook page, where you can share your own Whimsy creations too!

This year we have 3 amazing new artists join us! Cathy Delannsay, Sandy Allnock, and our own Design Team Member Simonne Clay.

We are also having 5 days of Blog Hops planned starting today up until Friday. All products will be officially released on Wednesday! I hope you'll join us each day. There will be prizes to be won, but the blogs and days for the prizes are secret, so be sure to hop along each day and leave comments too. The prize winners will be announced sometimes after the last hop, probably next Monday, on the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Blog.

Today we are showcasing creations made with stamps from two of our new artists,
 Sandy Allnock and Kathy Delannsay.

To make my card I used the gorgeous stamp "The Little Bird", illustrated by Cathy Delannsay. Isn't this stamp absolutely gorgeous!! I knew right away that I wanted to paper piece her gorgeous gown!

Her hair and skin were colored using Copic Markers.  As you can see, the image has been cut out. I used my super sharp cutterbee scissors for it. They work wonderfully for fussy cutting! To paper piece I stamped the image again onto my designer paper, and cut that out separately.

The castle in the background was made using the new castle die, which will also be released on Wednesday. I thought it would work perfectly with the stamp. Whimsy Stamps will also be releasing an all occasion stamp set, "Everyday Moments",  designed by our amazingly talented DT member and new Whimsy artist Simonne. If you are looking for a basic, many occasions sentiment set, this one would be it.

The paper I used is from my stash, probably from one of the My Mind's Eye stacks. I added a die from the die set "vines". I finished the card off by sewing around the edges, and added a little flower.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, I created the circle behind the castle by applying some distress ink with an ink applicator tool, and then I stamped a silhouette stamp onto it.

A little Penny Black Inspiration

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far! We are being snowed in again (!) today, and since it's been a week from my last post, I thought I'd stamp off this cute image and get coloring. Wasn't sure if I would have time to actually make a card out of it, but I did, so here it is.

I found this stamp at Michaels, it was the first time I had ever seen Penny Black stamps there, so of course I had to get it, not to mention they were 40% off...can't wait to go again to see if they have any new ones in. Wish it wasn't an hour drive to get there :-(

I colored the image using copic markers on xpress blend it card.
As you can see I kept the card pretty simple, just layered the image onto kraft card stock, then added a strip of designer paper. Did some machine sewing and then I added a couple of die cut hearts with the sentiment. Added a little clear button with some twine and then adhered the complete card front to the white base.

I would love to enter my card into the Penny Black challenge which is being held on the official Penny Black Blog. The challenge theme there is "Love or Friendship".
blog-banner

Also entering it to Penny Black Saturday challenge with the theme of "New" (I used a brand new to me stamp). At Color Me Creative the challenge is "texturize it"  I used several shades of markers to create texture on the hedgie's frills and the grass.

Finally a little reminder about the Penny Black and More challenge, this month our theme is "Love is in the air" and we'd love to have you join us. You don't have to use a Penny Black stamp, any stamps are welcome, we just ask that no digis are used please. And don't forget you may enter up to 3 times for a chance to  win. As usual we have several fabulous prizes up for grabs.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

WordPlay Saturday Challenge - January

Good morning everyone, and thanks for stopping by! It's time for the 1st wordplay challenge of the new year! Hope you'll play along and share your creation with me!

Before I get to the new challenge it's time to announce the winner of last challenge.

 Ulla .

Congratulations Ulla, please email me your complete address so I can get your prize sent to you!
ellibelle_blog at yahoo dot com

And now for this month's challenge...
the challenge word is..

Yellow.

Such a cheerful color, reminds me of warmer weather, and although I do love winter, it has been way too cold of a winter this year! (Although it did warm up a little bit the last couple of days!)

To play along simply create a papercraft project using yellow somewhere on your card. It doesn't have to be the main color, but it does have to be easy to see.

Here is what I made.
Products used:
Stamps: Bee (tiddly inks digi), honeycomb greetings (Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: SU yellow designer paper and card stock, washi tape polka dots (purchased from Whimsy Stamps), copic xpress for image, recollection 110l
Embellishments: clear button (SU), twine, glitter

Another view.

I would also like to enter my creation to the current Tiddly Inks challenge which is Clean and Simple.
Also the Graph it Challenge is Springtime inspired yellows/blues and so I am entering my card there as well.

****
This month I am giving away a cute stamp set by Hanna Stamps. Again, from my personal collection, so slightly used.

Now it's your turn. Simply leave a direct link to your project below using inlinkz.

A few things to remember:
It must be a new creation
You may combine this with other challenges
You must mention and link this blog when entering the challenge
You may enter up to 4 times
Would love to have you as a follower, but it is not a requirement

ETA 5/20/18:

To protect the privacy of those who entered this challenge, the linky tool has now been removed.

Whiff of Joy News-- Get Excited!!

Good Morning and a happy Thursday to you all!! Hope your are staying warm wherever you are!
It has warmed up a little over here, not much, but at least we are no longer at record lows. We actually had a water pipe freeze monday morning, luckily I convinced my husband that we do need to call a plumber since we wouldn't find the frozen pipe, and the plumber fixed the problem pretty fast.
It was awful though not having running water for a few hours, and I don't even want to imagine the mess if the pipe would have busted.

Again, no card today, but I have some very exciting news!!

A little Bookmark

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you are all doing great and staying warm! Arctic  weather here again, we got snowed in on Saturday and Sunday, and now it's bitterly cold again.

I had a chance to create something this weekend, and thought I'd get out the cute "playful kittens" set from Whimsy stamps, and create a cute corner bookmark with it.

There are lots of tutorials on how to do it. Can't believe how simple it was to make. Here is a tutorial by Iris. Her verion is slightly different, I didn't cut any of my corners off, but I used the same steps up until that part.

I colored the image  using copic markers. Glitter was added to the heart. The corner I added to the bookmark was done using Whimsy's Lace Doily Corner Die 2.

These are so quick to make too, perfect for little valentines, and you could even hide a little wrapped candy inside. I am giving this one to my daughter. Will make a boy version for my son soon too!

Would love to play along in a few challenges:
Colour Me Creative Challenge -  Anything Goes
A Creative Need -  Die cuts/ Punches
Polkadoodles - Anything Goes
Simply Create Too -  Anything Goes
 Creative Knockouts-All that Glitters
Crafter's Cafe - Animal Friends

Have a great day!!

Products used:
Stamps: Playful Kittens (Whimsy)
Papers: Winter Blues (Whimsy) xpress blend it card, SU

Penny Black and More - January Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone and thanks for stopping by! Hope the new year started off well for you all!

We have a new challenge for you at Penny Black and More. Our theme for January is

Love and Romance.

http://www.bloggersentral.com/2012/11/pinterest-pin-it-button-on-image-hover.html I recently purchased this cute stamp, and thought it would work well for a little romantic card if I combine it with the right sentiment.

The image has been stamped onto copic xpress blend it card, and colored using copic markers. I added glitter to the moon. The top sentiment is from Flonzcraft stamps, who is also one of our sponsors this month. The bottom sentiment is from a set by Whimsy Stamps. White edges were all sponged with distress ink. To finish off the card I did some sewing, added a layered diecut heart shape, and some gingham ribbon.

Would love to play along in a few other challenges too:

A Creative Romance - Something New (new to me stamp)
Brown Sugar – Use Ribbon or Twine
Crafty Hands Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. -  Anything Goes

And that is all for today. If you'd like to play along with us this month, simply click the logo below. Don't forget you don't have to use a Penny Black stamp. Any make rubber or clear stamp works. We have several fabulous sponsors again, so plenty of chances to win! And don't forget about the chance at being invited to be a guest designer for a future challenge.

Have a fabulous day!!

Happy New Year!!

WISHING ALL MY FOLLOWERS AND VISITORS A
HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

I have some fabulous news to share with you today!! I  have been invited to join the Whiff of Joy Design Team as a Stamp Kit contributor. So excited!! It is going to be so much fun and I can't wait to receive the 2014 spring Kit of stamp designs!

Since I was "celebrating" at home yesterday with my little family (hubby pretty much always works New Years Day so we don't usually do much on New Year's Eve), I decided to get out this cute Henry Celebrating Mouse from Whiff of Joy and do some coloring while watching the New York Celebration. I cut him out using my cutterbee scissors.

This morning the neighbor kids showed up to play pretty early as usual, so no sleeping in. Decided to create a quick cute and simple card using the cute Henry mouse.

Yellow designer paper is from my stash. The polka dot paper is actually washi tape which I got from Whimsy Stamps. Sentiment is from a clear set by Penny Black. I embellished with a simple button and some silver cord.

I would love to play along in a few challenges too:
A Little Bit Crafty - Celebrate
Animal Friends Challenge -  Punches and Dies
One Crazy Stamper -  Anything Goes
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge -Animal Friends
Crafty Sentiment Designs  Birthdays
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for visiting! Stay warm everyone, and happy stamping!!

Stamps: Whiff of Joy (Henry Celebration Mouse), Penny Black (sentiment)
