Whimsy Stamps - October Rubber & Clear Stamp Release Blog Hop Day 1

Hello and happy Wednesday!

It's time for the monthly Rubber stamp release at Whimsy Stamps and the Design Team is ready to show you some wonderful creations made with these new stamps!!

Over the next 3 days we will showcase 18*BRAND NEW* red rubber stamps/stamp sets, 3 new Clearly Whimsy clear sets, and 2 Shapeology Die Sets. All of these new products are now available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from selected Whimsy Stamps retailers.

Each day, for the next 3 days, we will have a new blog hop, showcasing more of the new release items along with a new chance to win.

Here is what I created for today.

I stamped it onto Bristol Vellum card stock and colored using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, bended with baby oil. The actual stamp has some swirls around it too, but I fussy cut the tree, so they aren't shown here. The sentiment is from an older sentiment set by Whimsy Stamps. I inked the edges of my image circle using distress ink. The snow was made using Whimsy's stitched border trio die set. Simply embellished with some glitter and twine.

You can find the Whimsy products here:

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop, so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment at every stop to be entered into the draw.

Here is your hopping list:

See you again tomorrow for our second day of new release festivities!

Sunflower Buggies

I finally had a chance to finish this card, that I started working on last Sunday. It's been a busy week, preparing for back to school and other stuff.
Hard to believe Summer break is over...it always goes so fast, although I can't really say they have a short summer break. I just really wish they didn't start until September, it somehow feels like Fall once school starts, and I am not ready yet for Summer to be over...

Definitely still Summertime on my blog, I have another fun summer themed Whimsy Stamps creation to show you today, using the gorgeous stamp "Sunflower Buggies" from Whimsy's Meljen's Designs collection.

Just did some masking and inking. The flower was stamped twice, once onto my card front, then onto another white piece of card stock. This time I made coloring easy but simply inking it with my ink applicator tool and distress inks, using 3 different shades. Then I cut the flower out and adhered it onto my card front.  The little white flowers were colored using a white faber castell pitt marker.

You can find the Whimsy Products here:

Also used:
Neenah card stock, washi tape for masking, distress inks, stickles glitter, faber castell pitt marker

Flowers in my Pocket

Very happy to say that I feel so much better! I spent a nice Memorial Day with my family, then on Tuesday I forced myself to start exercising again after taking a week off. That and letting out some tears really helped me...I hate when I get so emotional, but luckily it doesn't happen very often!

The cute pocket stamp is a new one from Whimsy Stamps' latest release. This one was illustrated by Meljen's Designs.
The pocket and flowers have been stamped onto copic blending card, colored and fussy cut. I  stamped the image again onto designer paper and then adhered the pocket to the card, but leaving the glue off on the top part, so I could stick something inside the pocket. I didn't have any real tickets at home, so for the photo I used one of Whimsy's older ticket sentiments to put a couple tickets into the pocket. The "a gift for you" sentiment is from a more recent set "Happy Birthday". I embellished with a little button, some twine, and washi tape on the left side.

Here is a closeup. I got the texture on the jeans pocket by coloring a piece of scrap jeans with a copic blender and then simply pressed the fabric onto my copic colored image. (Huge thanks to my blogging and DT friend Danni for the wonderful tip!)

Little Wizard Owl

Hello and Happy Monday!

It's time for day 6 of Whimsy Stamps August Rubber and Die Release! I hope you were able to join us the last 5 days of mini blog hops for some fun prizes on each day. If not, you still have  couple more days to hop along. Remember you have 24 hours to enter into today's drawing, so until tomorrow 12noon EST. You can find the complete list of stops on the Whimsy Inspirations blog. All winners will then be announced on Wednesday.

I am part of today's blog hop and decided to use the cute Little Wizard Owl from Whimsy's Meljen's Designs.

I colored the image using my Faber castell pencils, the hat however was done using copic markers. I really wish I was more patient with my markers, I have so many but I always end up frustrated whenever I use them, so I always end up reaching for my pencils (which I do love). I do however
like how my hat turned out. Not so happy with the owl itself, I tried to make it appear like feathers, but I am not so sure I achieved that.

I had these googly eyes laying around and thought they would look cute added to the owl.  I created the kraft background paper by stamping one of the flourishes from Whimsy's Lavish Flourishes stamp set using black ink. The sentiment is from an old SU set, it's the same sentiment I cut the Happy Halloween out that I used on my card on Friday.  I added some ribbon and twine, stamped "Boo" (which I got from the Michael's dollar section a couple of years ago), and punched it out. Then tucked it under the ribbon like a tag.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Ok, that should be it from me, be sure to go check out the rest of the Designer's creation for today. You can find the complete list
 HERE.

Thanks so much for visting!
Have a great day!

Just a note...

Good morning, here I am with another Whimsy Stamps new release creation! Thanks so much for visiting!

It's day 4 of the June rubber stamp and die release blog hop! I hope you were able to hop along the last 3 days for a chance to win, if not you still have a few more days to enter into a drawing.

Here is my card for today. I  used the stamp "piggy bath" from Whimsy's Meljen's Designs collection.

I am really enjoying creating these scene-type of cards, and I think the Meljen's stamps are just perfect for that purpose.

I had a double scallop circle doily diecut laying around, from when I played around with it when I first got it last month, and since it was the color yellow, I thought it would look cute as a sun. So I cut it to fit the corner and turned it into my sun. It's such an amazing die!!

The clouds were done using the Puffy Cloud dies from memory box. And I used the Martha Stewart grass punch for the grass, as well as one of her butterfly punches.

The sentiment that I used here is also from Whimsy Stamps from the set "Ticket Notes". I really wish I would have used the ticket die to cut it out, but I didn't think about it until just now while I type this.

To finish my card off I embellished with a button and some twine, which I got from Whimsy Stamps Embellishments corner. They have several colors to choose from! I don't know about anyone else, but I sure am addicted to using twine!

 Don't forget:
Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw. To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. You can find the complete list of hop stops at the Whimsy blog. All winners will be announced there on Thursday next week! Good luck!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Time to Party

Hi everyone!

Here is a card I made using Whimsy Stamps new rubber stamp Party Time Cat by meljen's designs. Love this stamp!! I used to have him in digi-format until my laptop broke and this was one of the digis that I had lost. Soooo excited that I have him in rubber now!

This cat just cracks me up and he reminds me so much of my own cat Thomas. Although this time I colored him in gray (Thomas is an orange tabby.)

I colored him with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. After stamping and coloring the image, I cut it out and added the silver cord to the balloons. Two of the balloons were popped up with dimensionals, and I added some glassy glaze for a shiny finish. I stamped SU's itty bitty background stamp around the circle.

The papers are all from my stash, they are probably by the paper studio from Hobby Lobby. But I could be wrong.

The ticket sentiments are from Whimsy's set "Celebrations mini tickets", and I used the mini ticket die to cut them out. The corners are from a new set of shapeology dies, just released last month "Corners shapeology dies". It's a set of 4 dies.

I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you'd like to see some more whimsy creations, please visit the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations blog as today is Whimsy Stamps Review Day featuring new projects made with Whimsy's last month's release and Elizabeth Bell special release.

Have a GREAT day!

Here is what I created for today.

I used the brand new stamp "Party Penguin" from Whimsy's Meljen's collection. I just love this little cutie, and I think he is the perfect stamp for Winter Birthdays!

I colored him with my new Polychromos Pencils by Faber Castell.

The papers are from Basic Grey. The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps from the set Party Mini letter seals. Another fabulous set for all things party and birthday. You can get this sentiment set of 15 stamps for just $8. I punched it out using a 1 1/4 inch circle punch.

As you can see it's a pretty simple card - again. I simply embellished with some ribbon, and a few flowers and used a simple sketch.

Happy little Gnome

This card was inspired by Karen's (Snippets) card " A little birdie told me". I just loved the look of her card and wanted to create one similar.

I wanted to use a birdhouse stamp too, but then decided instead to make a birthday card with this "Happy Little Gnome" from Whimsy Stamps (Meljen's collection).

He has been colored with my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, blended with baby oil.
The sentiment was actually stamped right onto the white card front, but turned out crooked so I had to stamp it again and punch out using Stampin Up's word window punch.

I embellished with some twine and a button, and then sewed the edges.

Here are some challenge I am entering this to:

And here is my card for today.

I used the stamp cat-o-lantern by Meljen's which was just
released in rubber. I also used the stamp set "lavish flourishes" by raindrop echo, also just released. I just inked it up with pumpkin ink, stamped off once and then stamped on the white piece of card stock for a lighter look.

The Designer Paper is from DCWV harvest stack. I embellished with a button and twine (my favorite embellishments at the moment), sponged the edges and then sewed the edges with my janome sew mini.
Not sure if it is visible in the photo, but the "hat" and pumpkin front were popped up on dimensionals.

Coloring was done with derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.
Here is a close up of the cute image.

Oh, and the sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges.
And that should be all for today. I hope you liked my card and enjoyed the mini blog hop!
Have a great day!!
