Christmas Scene Builder

This is a scheduled post, so hopefully blogger will behave and post it as expected!

I absolutely love this new stamp set by Whimsy stamps -  Christmas Scene Builder - by SC Designs. I used it on our Grand Blog Hop, using the city scape, and on today's card I used it using the evergreen trees.

The scene was made with distress inks and a mask created by simply tearing some paper. A very CAS card, and it was very quick to make once I decided on the design.

You can find the stamp set HERE in the Whimsy Shop.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Eclectic Garden

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Time for a little Just For Fun Rubberstamps inspiration. For today's card I decided to use one of the beautiful flower stamps that I received in my first DT packet from JFF rubberstamps. This is my first time using it, and I have to say it was so much fun to color the beautiful flowers!
As this is a rather large stamp, I kept my card simple and just inked the bottom portion with distress ink after coloring. The image itself has been heat embossed.

The matching sentiment is also available at Just For Fun. Embellished with twine and glitter.

You can find the JFF products here:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Christmas Mice

Happy Monday :-)

I have a new cute Whimsy Stamps card to share today, using the new stamp O Holey Night illustrated by the super talented Crissy Armstrong. This was probably my favorite stamp from the October release. I absolutely loved coloring these cuties!!

I used copics for coloring and added some stickles glitter for a little sparkle. Papers are from my stash. The bells on the top left were done using the new Jingle Bells Die set. Sentiment is from the new set Christmas Scene Builder. Finished it off with some twine and punched branches behind the bells.

Stamptangle Pumpkins

Happy Saturday! Hope you are having a fun Autumn day! It's a cloudy day here, and I wish it was a little warmer outside. But it almost the end of October, so I have no choice but to get used to it...

I have an Autumn themed card to share with you today, using stamps from Just For Fun Rubberstamps. Those stamptangle pumpkins were perfect for creating a Thanksgiving card. JFF offers them in 3 sizes, I used the small and medium sized ones for my card.

The pumpkins were stamped using black archival ink, and then inked up using several colors of distress inks and an ink applicator. They were both fussy cut. Before adhering them to my card, I stamped the dried flower stalk onto the background. Simply added some designer papers on the side, along with the sentiment and some twine. To finish it off, I rounded the corners on the bottom part of the card.

Product list:
Distress inks (mustard seed, spiced marmalade, peeled paint, fired brick)
SU designer paper scraps, twine

Winter Princess

It's a rainy day here today, perfect time to finish this cute card that I started on yesterday. I used the gorgeous stamp "Winter Princess" from Whimsy Stamps, illustrated by Mi Ran.

Stamped onto copic xpress blending card and then colored using copic markers. I inked the edges  using broken china distress ink.
I used Whimsy's snowflake border die from last year's release to surround the image with. Sentiment circles are from the set "Build a Snowman". But instead of building a snowman, I simply cut out the two stamped circles and put some silver cord through eyelets to add to my card.
A little bit of glitter was added to finish it off.

I try to post my creations on intagram too. Would love for you to follow  me if you are on there.

Happy Sunday everyone! It's time for our special Candy Giveaway at Penny Black and More!

The logo below is showing the main prize - Stamps, dies and stencils from Penny Black which will go to one lucky person.
Please visit the Penny Black and More blog to find out how you can win this, as well as the other fabulous prizes up for grabs, which you can also see on the challenge blog.

In addition to the fabulous sponsored prizes, some of the Design Team has some goodies to give away too. So be sure to visit them if you'd like to be entered to win the prize offered on their blogs, and I believe everyone has a fabulous creation on their blogs to share too!

Please note, you don't have to visit the Design Team's blogs in order to win the prizes up for grabs on the challenge blogs. You only have to visit them if you'd like to be entered into their drawings. This is just something extra some of us are doing, and winners for these prizes will just be posted on the DT blog, not the challenge blog.
And here is what I am giving away to one lucky winner...a little assortment of ribbon, twine and lace tape, as well as some prima flowers.

I will choose a winner for my ribbon assortment from the comments left here on this post on October 26th or shortly after.

I also have a card to share with you, as a little reminder about our ongoing challenge with the theme of Christmas Cards. The prizes for the challenge are extra, so I hope you'll play along with us, if you haven't already.

Just a quick card I created using Grumbacher Deluxe watercolor paints and the Penny Black stamp Crystal Drops. I embellished with some gold cord and glitter.

Thanks so much for visiting. Good luck everyone!!

Too Cute to Spook

I am back again with another card. Today is my turn to post to the Whiff of Joy blog, and today's theme there is "Scrap your stash".

I don't even want to tell you how many designer paper scraps I have, it's ridiculous - not to mention ribbon scraps and old unfinished card scraps that I have been wanting to take apart....but I was so afraid that I wasn't going to find much Halloween themed paper. I was so wrong, as I found plenty and so I remembered a card sketch I saw which used  several designer paper scraps, and so I created the card following that sketch.

I only used 3 different designer papers, although I found plenty more I could have used. But I wanted to just focus on the colors I used for coloring the cute image.

By the way, my little squares are just 1x1 inch each, so this sketch really is perfect for all those small paper pieces you have left over from other projects.

The cute image is from Whiff of Joy's Fall Stamp Kit (Kit No. 3). It's been colored using copic markers and fussy cut. Sentiment and leaf stamped over the sentiment are also part of the cute kit. I added some diecut bats to my card to finish it off.

Live Out Loud

Happy Friday!

Today was my turn to share a creation on the Just For Fun Rubberstamps blog, and I decided to use my dylusions inks. It's been too long since I last used them, and had lots of fun getting inky :-)

All stamps are by Just For fun, I also used a dotted stencil. Besides dylusions inks I also used distress inks, as the green that I have was too bright (like on the top portion of the card), so I inked the edges a little bit with an earthier shade of green (peeled paint).

Product list:
dylusions inks, distress inks, archival ink
mixed media card stock,, 110lb card stock
prima flower and brad

I would love to play along in a few challenges:

Crafter's Cafe - F Black, Orange + 1 colour (I chose green)

Whimsy Stamps - October Rubber Stamp Release Day One

Happy Monday!!

It's almost time again for Whimsy Stamps newest Rubber stamp release! Over the next 3 days we will be holding a daily blog hop showing you creations made with these new goodies. The Grand Blog Hop will take place on Wednesday, which is the official release day and all the new goodies will be available for purchase in the Whimsy Shop then.

As always, be sure to hop along and leave comments at each stop for a chance to win the prize. I have included the hop list at the end of the post.

Today we are showing you creations made with designs by Crissy Armstrong, Mi Ran and SC Designs and I am so excited to be part of today's hop.
Edited this post Oct. 8th, as I have redone this card to create step by step photos.
Below is the new card and I do like it better than the first card. Step-by-step photos can be found on the Whimsy Blog (Oct. 9th).

I used the stamp set Christmas Scene Builder by SC Designs. I started out by simply using the direct to paper technique using distress inks. Then I heat embossed the first row of skycrapers, masking off some "snow" on the bottom. I stamped the houses again with light gray ink to create more skycrapers in the background. Not sure I like the yellow, I wanted it to look like the buildings are all lit and are making the city glow...maybe I should have used a more subtle yellow.
The snow on the bottom was done by using a mask and more distress ink. The moon was also masked off, before I started inking the background.
I added a few sequins and then the sentiment with a little bit of washi tape.

And here is the hopping list.

Denise (Guest)
Stephanne (Guest)

Don't forget to comment on each blog for a chance to win! You have until Tuesday noon EST to comment.  Happy hopping and good luck!!

Hope you have a great day!!
Be sure to visit the Whimsy blog tomorrow for the second blog hop. I will be back again on Wednesday for our Grand Blog Hop.

Penny Black and More - October Challenge

October already, winter is right around the corner (and is surely feels like it outside at the moment!) and so we have the perfect challenge for you this month at Penny Black and More...

Christmas Cards.

We also are having another exciting giveaway later this month, you can read more about it at the end of my post.

And here is my creation for this month using the cute stamp "Chill Day" by Penny Black, along with a sentiment from the clear set "Holly Jolly".

My card sketch was inspired by a beautiful card created by Mary J. I just thought this sketch would be perfect to use with the size of the stamp.

I kept the card pretty flat and simple, so it is easily mailable.
Just stamped the image onto copic blending card using memento tuxedo ink, then colored using copic markers. Designer papers are from my stash.

Here is another view.
I hope you'll join us this month. You may use any stamp company, just no digi images please, as they don't qualify for the prize draw. We do have several fabulous prizes to give away.

**********************

In addition to the amazing challenge prizes, we are having lots more prizes later this month, and we would love for you to share the logo below, so all your friends can have a chance at winning too.  I will be posting more details about this extra special prize giveaway early on October 12th, so be sure to check back then.  In the meantime, don't forget to add this logo to your sidebar, so you don't forget about it, and to help spread the word.

Jungle Bells 2 - Elephant

Happy Wednesday.
This past week seemed busier to me than usual, not sure why, but I just now finally found some time create a card with the other cute "Jungle Bells" stamp from Whimsy.

The image has been stamped onto blending copic card and fussy cut. I colored it with copic markers.
The sentiment was stamped onto 110 lb card stock, then cut out using a scallop oval nestabilities shape. Inked the edges using matching real red card stock. The little presents that I stamped by the sentiment are part of the new set "Spell it out - Christmas Lights" which was just released last month. Large sentiment is from an older set "Holiday Cheer", also by Whimsy Stamps.
I added some gold cord and then finished the card off with some paper piercing.

Product list:
Authentique designer paper, SU card stock, recollections card stock, copic blending card
gold cord (martha stewart), paper piercing tool kit (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back on Sunday with a new card, and then next week we will be  having some fun blog hops for Whimsy's October release. Hope you'll join us!!
