Valerie's Spring Rain

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by!

It's been way too long since I last used this cute stamp by Crissy Armstrong. It's called "Valerie's Spring Rain" and can be purchased at Whimsy Stamps.

Photobucket

It's been stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah solar crest, and colored with Derwent Coloursoft and Prismacolor Pencils.

I cut the image out and layered it onto a nestabilies label which was layered about half way under the strip of wood designer paper. I used a simple sketch again, added one of the Everyday Postage Stamp Sentiments from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo collection, and cut it out using the Whimsy mini postage die, then embellished with some ribbon, button with twine, a layered prima flower and some flourishes from the Vines Shapeology die, also from Whimsy Stamps. To finish it off I paper pierced around the top part of the card.

I would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

*****************

For my card today I used the super cute stamp Wee Bunny from Whimsy's Sylvia Zet collection, along with the brand new Thank You tabs from Whimsy's Raindrop Echo collection. Absolutely love those, hopefully Whimsy Stamps will release a set for some other occasions too!

Photobucket

I colored this cutie with my derwent coloursoft pencils, blended with baby oil. Papers are from My Minds Eye and card stock is bazzill and Neenah.
As mentioned above the sentiment is from the set "Thank you tabs", one of the newly released Whimsy Sentiment sets. Of course there is also a matching die available, tab 1 shapeology die, which I used to cut it out.

I kept the card pretty simple, I really wanted to show off the cute stamp and the awesome sentiment on this. Plus I am planning on using it for a teacher, and those cards I usually like to keep a little simpler. Not to mention that I really enjoy creating simpler cards these days...

I embellished with some green polka dotted ribbon, added a button with some twine, and then stitched the edges and paper pierced around the image.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:

Phindy's Shaped Card Challenge

Recently one of my cards got chosen as card of the Week at Phindy's Place and lucky me received a $5 gift certificate to use in Phindy's store. I chose the cute snowman stamp that I used below and another gorgeous spring stamp, which I am sure I will be using soon too.

I know, Christmas is over, and won't come again for a long time, but every year I seem to be running into the same problem, not having enough cards to mail out and stressing. So I am challenging myself to create (at least) one Christmas card a month, so I won't have that problem again this year.

This image is called "Back to Nature". I colored it using derwent coloursoft pencils.
The papers I used are from my stash, I don't remember what company they are from.

As this week's Challenge at Phindy's Place is "Shaped Cards", I decided to make a center step card. I have only made this shape once before. Instructions can be found here.

I would love to combine the following challenges today:

Photobucket

And that is all for today, I hope you liked my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be back again on Monday with a Card for Day 5 of Whimsy Stamps New Release Showcase.

Enjoy your weekend!

Whimsy Stamps January Release Showcase Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of our January Rubber Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (18 January) Whimsy Stamps released this month's rubber designs and new shapeology dies. From then until 25 January the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new stamps and dies with a daily mini blog hop.

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw.

To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy Inspirations blog after 12.00PM EST on 25 January.

Here is what I created for today. I used the super cute Everything's Just Ducky stampLink from the Crissy Armstrong collection.

Photobucket

It's been colored using copic markers and derwent coloursoft pencils. The umbrella and wing were stamped twice and then adhered with dimensionals. Papers are from my ever growing stash. These particular ones are from Stampin Up (retired).

I embellished with some prima flowers, a flourish made with Whimsy's vines shapeology die, some brads, a button, ribbon and twine. Of course I had to add a little bit of glitter too.

The sentiment "Hello" is from a set by Crafter's Companion. The ticket that I stamped the sentiment onto is from the set "Celebrations mini tickets" by Whimsy Stamps. I love that the set includes a blank ticket with just the frame, so I can stamp any other smaller sentiment onto it. The ticket was cut out using the mini ticket shapology die, also from Whimsy Stamps.

I would love to enter this card to the following challenges:

Catered Crop - Guest Designer Card

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far! We have some unusually warm weather here today, I have been cleaning the house with the windows open, how fun, when do we ever get to do this in January!! But it will get cold - tomorrow!

Today I am showing you my Guest Designer card for the Catered Crop challenge blog.

Catered Crop
I have just recently discovered the challenge blog and I love the way it works. The challenges run for two weeks, the first week Linda showcases fun things that incorporate the theme from pinterest, and then the second week the design team cards are being showcased. Fun and a little different. Thanks so much Linda for inviting me to guest design for this challenge!!

This 2-week's challenge is "Buttons". Be sure to go check it out to see all the fun ways to use buttons, found on pinterest.

So here is my card. I was given the super cute image "girl with winter coat hat and gloves" by Jellypark digital stamps to use for my card. They have such adorable images, be sure to go check them out!

Photobucket

I colored the image with derwent coloursoft pencils and baby oil and then cut it out. To make the snowy hills I just tore some white card stock and applied glitter. Then adhered the torn paper to some "cuttlebugged" :-) paper using the swiss dots cuttlebug folder.

The designer paper is from Bo Bunny's snowfall collection. I used a sentiment from the set "Winter Letter Seals" by Whimsy Stamps. The snowflakes were cut out using the Layered Snowflakes shapeology die, also from Whimsy Stamps. LinkI embellished with some buttons of course, gingham ribbon and glitter.

And here are a few more challenge I'd like to add this to:
Ok, that should be all for today. I hope you liked my card!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Stamping Bella Challenge on SCS

I have been wanting to play in the Stamping Bella challenges before but never could figure out where the challenges were on the Stamping Bella blog. And now I found that there is a Stamping Bella challenge on SCS, so I thought I'd play along.

This week the challenge is a sketch challenge.
Here is what I made.

And this is the sketch provided.

I used the stamp "Lacie with Ice Cream". It's been colored with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and blended with baby oil.

My color combo was inspired by this week's challenge at Phindy's Place, which is brown, teal and green. Such beautiful colors!
The flowery paper and green paper are from lime twist, I don't remember unfortunately who the maker of the pretty printed paper is.

The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps from the set "Friendship Notables 2", I also used "Whimsy's Notables 2 "shapeology die to cut it out.
It's a pretty simple card. I just used some twine and a button to embellish and did some machine sewing.

I would also love to enter it to Bronte and Bella's Challenge with the theme of anything goes using a Mo Manning image, and then since I borrowed the colors from Phindy's Place (colors teal, brown, moss/celery, white) I would like to enter it there as well.

Thank you so much for looking!
Enjoy the rest of you weekend!

LOTV Challenge - something new

This is the first card I made in the New Year. I have been busy moving my craft area upstairs from the kitchen and I am still working on organizing things.

But last night I checked out the new LOTV challenge and thought I start by coloring the image. I ended up creating the card too, of course that meant staying up until past midnight...

Here is my card.
Photobucket

The challenge theme is "something new". I only have 4 LOTV stamps, two of which are Christmas stamps, so I decided to use the stamp "Window Box". I originally wanted to make it a "Welcome Spring" card, but since I couldn't find any spring related sentiments, I just turned it into a "New Home" card.

I stamped the image with memento ink, and colored with derwent coloursoft pencils. The designer paper is from my stash, I have no idea what company it comes from.

It's a pretty simple card again. I embellished with some polka dot ribbon and a bow, and added the sentiment with some silver cord. To finish it off I did some machine sewing.

A few challenges I am combining:

Lili's little fairies challenge - New Beginnings (new home)
Cute Card Thursday - What's new? (new home)
Dutch Dare - New Beginnings (new home)

And that's it! Hope you liked my card!

Served with Love

Hello everyone and thanks so much for visiting!

I am so excited to show you this card, it was made for the latest Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine which was published on December 21st. If you haven't seen the Magazine yet, be sure to do so, it is absolutely free, with lots of gorgeous samples, gift ideas and tutorials.

Photobucket

For my card I used Crissy Armstrong's stamp "Served with Love", from the November release. What a cutie!! One of my many Whimsy Stamps favorites! I also used a sentiment stamp from the set "Winter Notables 1".

The image has been colored with distress inks. I used the stamp itty bitty backgrounds by stampin up (long retired) around the image and glittered them with stickles glitter. The paper is by Bo Bunny (Snowfall collection - double sided). I embellished with some snowflakes which were cut out using the Whimsy Stamps Shapeology die "layered snowflakes". Then I added some kraft seam binding ribbon, and did some machine sewing.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you liked my card.

And don't forget to check out the Whimsy Inspirations Magazine for more projects and fun tutorials if you haven't yet! Just click the picture below.

Penny Black - January Challenge

Happy New Year!!
May it be blessed with all things wonderful!

We have a new challenge for you over at Penny Black and more.

Designing for

This month our theme is

" Love and Hearts".

Don't forget you can enter using any brand of rubber or clear stamps, and be sure to check out the great prizes that are up for grabs!

Here is what I made.

Photobucket

Isn't that stamp just adorable!! I haven't had a chance yet to use it, and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. It's from the clear set "Micey Day", which I got from PB Stamps.

I colored it using distress inks. The papers are from Making Memories, card stock are Stampin Up (basic gray and cherry cobbler - love that color!), and Arches watercolor paper.

I embellished with some flourishes which were cut out using the "vines" shapeology die from Whimsy Stamps, a button with some thread and then I applied a little bit of glitter.

The postage sentiment stamps are from Whimsy Stamps as well, "Everyday Mini Postage Stamps", and I used the mini postage stamp die to cut it and the gray mat out.

I'd love to combine my card with the following challenges:

I hope you like my card. Be sure to visit the rest of the team to see their amazing creations!
And don't forget to play along with us this month for a chance at some amazing prizes or to be chosen to be in the spotlight. You can enter up to 3 times.
