Cupcakes, Cakes and Sweet Treats for Allsorts 408

Hello! It's time already for a new challenge at Allsorts. It's Tracy's turn to host this week, and she chose the theme of Cupcakes, Cakes and Sweet Treats. Another fun theme and we have two great prizes to give away too!

I thought this cute image from Cuddly Buddly would be perfect for this occasion.

It's been colored using Faber Castell polychromos pencils on Neenah Solar Crest card stock and I used baby oil for blending. Designer paper is from Stampin Up (retired) and sentiments are both from Penny Black. Some machine sewing and jute twine finishes off the card.

Below is a closeup of the cute image!
The card is available in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

And finally here are the great prizes up for grabs this week...

I hope you'll decide to come play along with us at Allsorts for a chance to win!

Wishing you all a nice and hopefully sunny spring weekend!

Easter Bunnies

Hi everyone, just wanted to quickly share one of the cards I finished today, I wanted to make a couple more Easter cards and this is one of them. Aren't these bunnies just adorable!!!

Image has been heat embossed and then watercolored with Zig Clean color brush pens. I wanted to keep the colors pastel and spring-y so I used the palest colors I had. A little bit of wink of stella was brushed over the eggs and butterfly. And although I had this card for a boy's Easter card in mind, I couldn't  help myself and just had to add the die cut flower (Whimsy Stamps -retired) and jute twine with a bow. The other card I made is very girly and I will share that one here in about a week :)

The Happy Easter saying is another older wooden Penny Black stamp.

This card has been added to my Etsy shop if you're interested.

Botanical Notes and Anything But a Card

Good morning and happy weekend 😀
It's Saturday and the 18th of the month today, that means I actually have two projects to show you today! I know that doesn't happen often! Be prepared for a picture heavy post.

Please note: Some affiliate links are included in this post, meaning I may earn a small commission if you purchase something through the links, this is at no cost to you! Thanks so much for your support!

First up I am sharing my mid-month reminder card for Penny Black and More. Our theme this month is simply anything goes, as long as you follow our simple rules, which you can find on the challenge blog. I decided to use one of my newest stamps, I very recently got this one, just couldn't resist - Botanical Notes. Isn't it just beautiful!! I know I just said recently I wasn't going to buy new things anymore, but there is always going to be that "one thing" I will need :-) Like this stamp!

It's been stamped onto Winsor & Newton watercolor marker paper, and colored using Zig clean color brush pens. I find this paper the best for these pens. Unfortunately Blick art materials quit carrying it, and the only place I found it was Amazon. I tried Fabriano hot press, but these pens do not  work very well on that paper. Luckily bristol vellum is another card stock that works ok with the clean color pens, and that I can get anywhere. It's just not my favorite with these pens.

This is a rather large stamp, and I really didn't want to add too much to the card, because I wanted it to stand out. So I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of vellum paper using black stazon ink, and added a little bit of coordinating designer paper. I thought it needed something where the two designer papers met, so I added a little blue button and jute twine. The top of the watercolor paper has been torn and curled up on the corner, then layered onto matching yellow designer paper. Sorry I have no idea of the brands of the papers, I just grabbed them from my stash.

A little close up below. I did add wink of stella glitter to the butterfly and flower center, but unfortunately it's so hard to see.

Next up is my project for the new challenge at Allsorts. It's Susan's week to host and she would like to see anything but a card. I have to admit, those types of challenges always scare me a little bit, because  cards are pretty much all I ever seem to make, on rare occasions I made bookmarks or treat bags. So my first thought again was making a bookmark, but then I remembered that for the longest time I've been wanting to make a pretty tissue box cover to go with my current decorations.
I found an easy to follow tutorial on splitcoaststampers.

Mine was even easier to make because I didn't use extra layers, instead I just used pretty designer paper for my base. This pretty vintage style paper is from a 12x12 inches double sided paper pack (designer paper options). I think mine is by K& Company. I've had it for a while and I thought it was perfect for this.

After I completed creating the box, I simply added some adhesive lace and embellished with paper flowers. I've been hoarding these flowers for a long time, I never use them on cards because I find them too bulky on cards, but they were perfect for this.

Below is a little peek at the top.
It's hard to tell but I used one of the Nestabilties Label 4 dies to cut out the opening. I was able to fold the edges on the score lines in order to fit it through the die cutting machine.

I really wanted to stamp a verse on the designer paper, but the thought only came after it was finished. I tried but it didn't stamp evenly, so I left it as is and covered up the partial stamping with another pretty flower.

I left the other two sides blank, showing just the pretty paper, they will be facing the wall anyway. I thought about using a second ribbon and tying a bow, but my cats would probably  have too much fun with it, and I really like it how it is.  This cover will probably be in my living room up until Fall. I had so much fun making this, I might actually make another one for the Fall season and one for Winter.

This week I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
The Flower Challenge #6 - Anything Goes

Stamping Sensations - Close to Nature
Please grab our logo

Mixed Media Monthly -Buttons (hope one button is ok?)

Springtime Magic

Hello everyone, I was working on some cards for some upcoming challenges, and after I cleaned my desk I came across this cute Penny Black bunny stamp, and it was just asking to be colored!  I am really enjoying coloring with my Zig Clean color brush pens at the moment, I just wanted to color some more 😊

The cute bunny stamp by Penny Black has been stamped onto Winsor and Newton Watercolor marker paper and as mentioned I used Zig clean color real brush pens. The cute spring sentiment is also an old Penny Black stamp. I used a Whimsy Stamps tag die to cut it out. The designer papers are from my scrap box, I think by Stampin Up and maybe DCWV? I did some machine sewing and added jute twine to the tag and around the card to finish it off.

A little close up below...

Inside...

I used another cute Penny Black stamp colored with the Zig clean color pens, then cut out a partial circle to add to the inside.

You can find this card here in my Etsy shop if you're interested.

Allsorts 406 - Girls and Ladies

Another week has gone by so fast, Saturday already again and that means it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts. It's Mervi's week to host and she wants us to use Girls and/or Ladies on our creation. I love this image by Mo Manning, it reminds me of simpler but special times from the past.
And I thought it would be perfect for today's card.

The image has been colored using copic markers on Neenah Solar Crest card stock. Designer papers are from Stampin Up (retired) and I finally dug out my sewing machine again for this card.
I embellished with sheer ribbon and jute twine, a couple prima flowers and a tiny butterfly. Wink of Stella was brushed over the flowers and butterfly.

Penny Black and More - March Challenge

Good morning and thanks so much for stopping by! First Sunday of the month means it's time for a new challenge at Penny Black and More. We're making it easy for you this month, anything goes as long as you follow our simple rules. You can find those on the challenge blog.

Spring is not far off now, and we actually had record high temperatures last month while preparing my challenge card. So I decided to make a cute Easter card using the stamp "The Painter and the Bee" by Penny Black. Probably my favorite Easter stamp!

Image has been heat embossed on bristol vellum card stock before coloring with Zig clean color brush pens. The image is pretty large so I kept the focus on that and created a CAS card. A few strips of pretty designer papers from my stash have been used as accents and some twine is finishing off the card. Of course I had to add some wink of stella for some sparkles.  The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up Easter set, also heat embossed.

I wanted to bring some color to the inside too, so I stamped the large Happy Easter sentiment from the set Chick to Chick, also by PB.
Again heat embossed and colored with Zig clean color to match the card front.

This month we are being sponsored by Penny Black, Marianne Designs, Fantastic Ribbons and Chalkola, so there are lots of prizes to give away. I hope you'll come join us!

Spring Inspiration for Allsorts 405

Hello everyone! Hard to believe it's March already! I'm definitely ready to put away my winter coat, I really enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather we had last month, even though it was strange being able to leave the coat behind in mid- February. I don't usually mind winter much, but this year I had to drive during winter weather on several occasions and already had enough of it by the end of December! Now let's just hope the spring storms won't be too severe this spring...already had a taste of them earlier this week!

It's time for a new challenge at Allsorts, this week it's Brenda's turn to host, and she has a very fitting theme for us this week. A spring inspiration collage.

 Week 405 Inspiration

To play along simply be inspired by the picture, link up your project on the challenge blog and you'll be entered into the prize drawing. Our generous sponsors this week are
DigiStamp Boutique and Little Claire Designs giving away two great prizes!

Here is what I came up with.

The image is a new stamp by LOTV, just recently released, I just couldn't resist the cute bunny and daffodils are my favorite spring flowers - can't wait until mine are blooming!! I got the digi version and printed it on Neenah linen card stock, then colored using my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils blended with baby oil.
The sketch has been kept simple, I just rounded the corners of my image panel, mounted onto Daffodil Delight card stock and then onto the Pear Pizzaz card base. The designer paper strip is by Stampin Up (retired). Spring sentiment is also by SU from a retired Easter set, it's one of my favorite spring sentiments, in fact I have used it again on tomorrow's card 😀

I added Wink of Stella to the butterfly and flowers, but like so often, it's so hard to tell on the pictures. A couple sticky rhinestones were added to the butterfly and I used some twine to finish it off.
