It's the little things...

Please click here for Word Play Weekend Challenge.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy Monday everyone!! Hope you had a great weekend!

Here is another card I created over the last few days using one of Whimsy's June release digital stamps by our new artist Kathryne of Stamp Art Design.
Isn't this image just the cutest!!

The image is called "polar bear cub - melt my heart". It has been colored with prisma and derwent coloursoft pencils.
I distressed all of the edges. The papers are from Stampin Up, Neenah, and designer paper from DCWV.

I don't know what happened, but this started out with the sketch from Mojo Monday (last week), which was clean and simple. Somehow i kept adding to it and now it's nothing like CAS. Oh well, I do like how this turned out.
The sentiment is from a retired SU set.

I am entering this to the following challenges:
Wow, so many challenges I was able to combine with this one! A huge thanks to Feline Playful for making it so easy to combine!

That's all I have for today. Have some housework to do this morning, then later we are taking the kids to see the new Cars 2 movie. Should be a fun day!
I'll be back tomorrow with my new Digital Tuesday card. Hope you'll check back!

Flutters, flowers, fairies or fancy folds

For Word Play Weekend Challenge please scroll down one post.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

The kids have been busy playing with their friends the last couple of days, so I had more time to play! I decided to make a card for this week's Bella and Bronte's challenge (Mo's challenge) with the theme of "Flowers, Flutters, Fairies or Fancy fold - use any or all.

Here is what I made.

I haven't had a chance yet to use this cute image, and since I already had it printed out I decided to use it.

And I always wanted to try one of these center step cards, and then saw the tutorial for it on the front page of splitcoaststampers so I had to give it a try. It is very easy!! Here is the tutorial if you'd like to give it a try too.

Products used:
Stamps: digi - Mo Manning, sentiment - Stampin Up

Papers: Bazzill and designer paper from stash
Accessories and tools: rhinestones, glitter, ribbon, MS punch (butterfly), Stampin Up punch (flower)

Besides Bella and Bronte's challenge I am also entering this to Colour Me Creative Copic's Challenge with the theme of ruffles, folds or pleats.

And that should be all for this card. Hope you like it, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a great Sunday!

A little backpack

Happy Friday everyone!!

I had some time to play yesterday while the kids had their friends over. I've been wanting to try making one of these backpacks forever, so that is what I decided to do yesterday. I found the instructions on Splitcoaststampers.

This first one was a little confusing, but now that I have made one, I am sure the second one will be much easier.
These are so cute! And they are the right size for putting a gift card in. I might have to start making some for christmas gifts.

Not much else besides paper used here, I embellished with a button and flower with brad. The closure is sticky velcro. I used some sheer pink ribbon for the straps and handle.

I am entering this to the following challenges:

That's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Favorite Ice Cream Combos for digital tuesday

If you're here for Word Play Weekend please scroll down one post!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello and happy tuesday!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a good start of the week! My weekend was much much better than last weekend, and our kitty Thomas is recovering from his surgery (partial tail amputation). He is getting his stitches out today and he already seems to be back to his mischievous self.

Today's card is for Digital Tuesday Challenge. Lora is our hostess and she wants to see our

favorite ice cream combo colors.

What a great idea for a challenge!! Of course my number 1. ice cream flavor is just plain chocolate! But I also love vanilla bean with hot raspberries as topping, so those are my colors. Then there is a bit green in my card for pistachio ice cream, another one of my favorites, which I remember being green in Germany but the one I found here in America wasn't green.

The card is an easel card and I added a tag to the inside.

I made this card for my daughter's upcoming birthday. The image is from Whimsy Stamps, Crissy Armstrong's Dance of Love. My daughter loves carousels, and I know she loves this image because I let her choose the image she wanted on her card, and from the many many digis I have this is what she wanted!

But she won't see the card until her birthday. I know she is going to love it, because she always wants me to use these roses on the cards I make but I never do because they don't seem practical when mailing so I usually stay away from using them. But since this card won't be mailed I decided to use them.

Here is a close up of the image.

It has been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and used baby oil for blending. I applied some glitter to the mane and tail and also on the flowers. I have also added some lace and did some sewing. And then I placed some pearls to the top right corner.

The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamp, from the rubber stamp set "mini party letter seals" found here.

I'd love to combine this card with the following challenges:
I hope you'll play along with us this week! We have My Grafico sponsoring us this week offering one digistamp set plus 20% off of to one lucky winner!! To play along all you have to do is make a card using your favorite ice cream combo colors and then link it at digital tuesday!

Hope to see you there!!

First ever Whimsy Stamps magazine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**If you're here for word play weekend please scroll down a couple of posts!**
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

What an exciting day at Whimsy Stamps!! Whimsy has released the first ever Whimsy Inspirations issue filled with lots of gorgeous samples by the Whimsy Stamps designers and costumers. The magazine is absolutely stunning, you just have to go look and I promise you won't be disappointed. Plus it is absolutely free!!! And I have to admit I am so super excited to be part of this amazing team!!

Here is the link.

Here is the card I submitted to the magazine. Unfortunately I didn't have time to submit more cards, but hopefully I will for the next issue.

I absolutely love these images!! They are all digis available in the Meljen's Corner at Whimsy Stamps.

And if you're one of the cardmakers that hasn't gotten into digital stamps, there is good news!!
Most images I used for this card are now also available as rubber stamps, the little happy gnome, garden fence and garden bird house. Whimsy Stamps are best quality red rubber cling mounted, made in the USA. After trimming they are ready to use with your acrylic blocks.

The little cloud was a freebie from Meljen's and you can find it here along with her many other freebies. The little butterfly can be found here in the Whimsy Shop.

I colored the images with copic markers.
The bird house and fence were merged using a free photo editing software. I used the tutorial found here. But have to admit - for some reason I haven't been able to figure out the "overlapping" part, so I just printed out the gnome separately and cut him out. It worked out great in this case as I wanted him to pop up a little anyway.

Products used:
Stamps: digis -
Happy little gnome, garden bird house, garden fence, simple butterfly, little cloud freebie (all by Meljen's); rubber - SU warm words (retired)
Papers: Stampin Up, Neenah
Inks: HP inkjet, memento tuxedo black
Accessories: hemp twine, prima flowers, buttons, brads, glitter
Tools: paper piercing tool kit, copics and derwent coloursoft, Martha Stewart Grass punch

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you'll go check out the Whimsy Inspirations Magazine to see all the amazing creations! You might even find a discount code for Whimsy Stamps if you look closely!

Also, today is the rubber stamp release day for June, the rubber stamp DT has a blog hop going on with lots of amazing samples for you to look at! To start hopping click here.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing my whimsy excitement!

Peaches with some gingham

Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

I have my digital tuesday card to share today, combined with a few other challenges.
Didn't think I was going to have a card for this week, as my weekend was horrible, with a kitty emergency. But I already had this image colored and then found an easy sketch at the sweet sketch, and then decided to make a quick card.

Karen is our hostess this week and she would like to see some gingham in our projects. I used black gingham ribbon.

Then at Bella and Bronte's challenge the challenge is a "recipe" - recipe of friendship. Either make a card with a recipe, something with food, friendship, etc. I think it's a pretty open theme, and I think my card would be just perfect to send to a friend, so I am entering it there too.

Products used:
Stamps: digi - Peaches (Mo Manning), rubber (SU)
Papers: SU, Neenah
Ink: Inkjet,Memento tuxedo black
Accessories: gingham ribbon, brads, prima flower, stickles
Tools: derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil, circle punch

And here are all the challenges that I am combining:
I hope you get to join us this week at Digital Tuesday, our fabulous sponsor is Doodle Pantry giving away a$10 gift certificate to be used in their store.

Have a great day!

And be sure to check back tomorrow, as I will be back with my Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine card, which goes live tomorrow. The Design Team was able to have a peek at it and I can tell you that it is AMAZING!! Plus it's FREE!!

Simply create something with a birthday theme and then link it below for a chance at having your card featured next week.

I needed a birthday card for a boy, and thought this Penny Black stamp would be perfect to use for this occasion.

Products used:
Stamps: Penny Black (main image), Whimsy Stamps (sentiment)
Papers: DCWV stack, stampin up, neenah
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, night of navy Accessories: grosgrain ribbon, crystal glaze, stickles glitter
Tools: Derwent coloursoft pencils, copics, circle punches

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:
Paper Take Weekly (anything goes)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sorry there was an issue with mr linky last week, I didn't know I could only have one linky at a time and it deleted the one I had on here when I added one to the digital tuesday challenge blog. At least I was still able to look at the links and then just added the other one too. So I was able to choose my favorite card from all of the entries.

So here it is, the card of the week from last week

created by Viv.

I just love this sweet turtle and what a gorgeous color combo!!

Congrats Viv, feel free to grab the "Card of the Week" logo below to place on your side bar.

If you'd like to play along this week simply link your new card to the linky tool below.

Sweet little Sandy

Happy Friday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Here is a card I made using a new
digi just released on June first by Crissy Armstrong, "Sandy", available at Whimsy Stamps.

I decided to color the image with copic markers.

I went with a clean and simple card because after coloring the image I realized that I didn't have any matching designer papers to go with my coloring. I did want to sew around the edges but my sewing machine started acting up again. I have to dig out the manual to see if I can fix it somehow.

The large seashell is from a retired set by Stampin Up so I can enter my card to this week's free for all challenge on splitcoast stampers, and the sentiment is a freebie from Meljen's Designs. I embellished with some striped ribbon, and then punched out a couple of butterflies using a martha stewart punch, and added sticky pearls to them.

I'd love to enter this card to the following challenges:
Before I leave I have some super exciting Whimsy News to share with you.

The last unicorn

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone!

I have a new card to share today for this week's digital tuesday challenge. It was my turn to choose a theme and I chose

in the garden or outdoors.

When I chose the challenge several weeks ago the weather was so beautiful and spring-y. Perfect for being outside. Yesterday we had a record high (I think) of about 95 degrees. Not so much fun to be outside when you have an air conditioned house. It's supposed to be even hotter today. I wish spring would last a little longer here, seems like we're going from winter to summer with just a few days of spring in between.

Now onto the card, digital tuesday is being sponsored by Spesch Designer Stamps this week, and the design team was so lucky again to be able to each choose an image to use for the challenge. I decided to choose one from Sylvia's designs, as I just love her style.

Here is my card.

Products used:
Stamps: digi - Spesch Stamps (proud unicorn), rubber sentiment -Whimsy Stamps (mini party letter seals)
Paper: Stampin up, neenah
Accessories: Prima flowers, sticky rhinestones, ribbon, glitter
Tools: derwent coloursoft pencils, sewing machine, circle punch, cuttlebug embossing folder

I'd love to enter my card to the following challenges:

That should be all for today. I hope you'll get to join us this week for a chance at a fabulous prize from Spesch Designer Stamps.

Enjoy your day!!

Papers: SU, Neenah, Designer paper from SU & stash
