A Happy Hello

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a fantastic day. It's been beautiful here in Illinois and I spent most of the day outside. I just love this time of the year!

Before I forget, I'd like to let you all know that the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog is looking for one designer to join our team. If you love digistamps and would like to apply - click here to see how.

I came across MelJen's Designs digistamps the other day and just had to get a couple of them. I just couldn't resist the cuteness! This one is called Toadstool buggies.

I heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder, then colored with copic markers. The papers are SU's soft sky (retired) and basic black, and the white card stock is "copic paper" from my local stamping store. Ribbon is from my stash, I love how it matches the colors of my colored image. I almost added a red ribbon, but then found this one.

The sentiment is from SU. To finish of the card I added a couple buttons and a prima flower, and of course I had to add a little bit of glitter to the flowers and bees on the image too.

The sketch is from "Sketch and (new) stash".

I am also entering it to this week's pile it on challenge with the theme "make it sweet", and since bees make honey I think it qualifies, right?
And "Raise the Bar's" Challenge is Color me Happy. The colors I used to color my image are definitely my favorite colors.

That's if for today. I am hoping to get another card made very soon with my other MelJen's digi. It's just as gorgeous as this one!! I have it already colored and the sketch picked out too. So hopefully I'll find some time to make my card with it tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!! And thanks so much for stopping by!

DTC #56 Anything but a card and designer search

Hello and a good morning to all of you! I am so happy you are visiting me here today!!

Before I get to my project I want to let you all know that Digital Tuesday Challenge is looking for one designer to be part of our team. Click on the Digital Tuesday link below for all the details.

Our challenge this week at Digital Tuesday is

"Anything but a card"

chosen by the lovely Lora. I most always make cards so this was challenging for me. After lots of thoughts I remembered that I always wanted to try one of these "Faux leather wallets", so here was my chance.

Funny when I showed it to my husband his reply was "is this leather?" LOL
I found the instructions in the resource section on SCS. Here's a quick link in case anyone is interested.

I very much followed the directions from SCS, just used different papers and embellishments. And added an image as a focal point.

The cute image is from our sponsors this week, Some Odd Girl, the owner generously let us design team members choose one of their images.
Be sure to go check out their store, they have lots of unique images. I had so much fun coloring this one, of course sunflowers are one of my favorite kind of flowers.

Below you can see the wallet open and also a top view.

I am going to put some money in here and give it to my niece who just turned 12. I think she will love it.

My project also fits the challenge at "Dare U 2 digistamp" with the theme "Flowers", and the challenge at "A spoon full of sugar" with the theme "3D somethings" so I will enter it there too.

Thanks so much again for stopping by my blog today, hope'll find some time to create something and maybe you can join us at the digital tuesday challenge and create anything but a card using a digi, for a chance to win a prize from "Some Odd Girl".

Have a fantastic day!!

Recipe:
Image: digi from some odd girl
Paper: crushed curry, au chocolate, white (SU)
Ink: inkjet, more mustard, versamark, copics
Accessories: ribbon, hard ware, embossing powder
Tools: cuttlebug folder, big kick, nestabilities, hole punch, heating tool

DTC #55 - April Flowers or April Showers

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today's card is for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge that I happen to host this week. The theme I chose is

April Flowers or April Showers.

I hope you'll play along since it's that time of the year. We have a brand new sponsor this week, Di's Digital Downloads and their images are so cute! The image I used on my card is just one of the many cuties!

After I printed out my digi, I heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. Then colored using copic markers. I embellished with some sizzix leaves and a prima flower and some stickles glitter on the flowers and bow. Oh, and I decided to do some machine stitching with my janome mini around the edges. It's another simple sketch, seems like that is what I am drawn to these days.

My card also fits a few other challenges this week:

Pile it on - Spring
Stamp Something - Something Layered
Cute Card Thursday - Touchy Feely
Totally Paper Crafts - Spring

so I am entering them there as well.

Hope you enjoyed today's card and if you're up for creating a "springy" card why not join us at digital tuesday. You might be the lucky winner of some cute Di's digi downloads.

Have a great day everyone!

Penny Black Challenge - Monochromatic Brown

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend where ever you are! It's been another gorgeous spring day here and we spent most of the day outside.

I don't find much time lately to create something, but when I read what this week's Penny Black's challenge was (Monochromatic brown) , I knew I had to find some time to make a card today - I just love brown in all shades! So I stamped my image and took my copics outside and colored while the kids played.

The edges were sponged using creamy caramel ink and then I just inked up the edges directly with a chocolate chip ink pad.
Designer Paper is from DCWV (sweet stack). The white card stock was embossed with a cuttlebug folder. I embellished with a flower and brad flower center, a little bit of ribbon, and stickles glitter to the embossed areas and flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you liked this simple card!
Be sure to check back tuesday for my digital tuesday challenge card, using another super cute image, this time from a new to me digital stamp company.

DTC #54 - Paper Piece with Digis

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope it's a good one for you all!
Here's my card for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge. The theme chosen by Amy is

"Paper Piece with Digitals".

How fun!!

Our sponsor My Grafico has given us a great set to work with - "Birthday girl" by Chi Chi Memories. There are several images in this set, I decided to go with the birthday cake image. It was so much fun to paper piece this cake!! Of course the beauty of digis is that you can make digis smaller or bigger and if you go check out some of the other DT member's blogs you'll see this same cake image in a smaller version.

Papers are from Stampin up, I embellished with some ribbon, brads, stickles and cuttlebug corners. I also added a punched out flower using one of Stampin up's retired punches.
I haven't felt like coloring much recently (don't know why, I usually love to color my images) so this challenge was just perfect for me!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. If you're up for a digi-challenge, why not join us at the digital tuesday challenge for a chance to win one of the many my grafico sets??

DTC #53 --- Wishing you the best

Happy Tuesday everyone!!Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend with some sunshine. We had lots of fun watching the kids hunt for easter eggs in the backyard and trying out their new roller skates.

Today's card is for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge with a color theme: Blue and white + one other color of your choice, chosen by our hostess Suzie. What a fun challenge!

The color of my choice is red, I thought the color combo would be great to use with the image "Flying High" from Digital Stamp Oasis.

I colored it with copic markers. Papers are from Stampin Up and DCWV. I used a nestabilties shape for the image and the mat. Embellished with some eyelets and ribbon. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

That's it for today. Hope you liked the card. And if you're up for a challenge using blue and white +one, why not join us at digital tuesday?

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, have a fantastic day!!

Popcorn the bear

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by today.

I have a quick and simple card to share today. The image is "popcorn the bear". Isn't he a cutie? I got the set several weeks ago and had the image colored for a while too. Glad he finally made it onto a card :-)

I colored him using prismacolor pencils and baby oil for blending. The white edges were sponged with yellow ink, but since it's such a light color it is not visible on the picture. Added the scallop edges and some ribbon and then adhered to the chocolate chip card front. For some sparkle I added stickles glitter to the flower centers. I'll be sending this card to a friend as a spring cards, since I forgot to send any easter cards this year. And now it's too late :-(

Wishing you all a happy and blessed Easter Holiday on Sunday, hope it's a sunny one where ever you are! Enjoy the easter egg hunts!
