For the kids

Hello everyone and happy tuesday!!

Hope spring is in full swing where ever you are. We've had some chilly days here and even some flurries over the weekend but it will only get better!! Plus the sun was out most of the day yesterday so no big complains here.
Just missing my kitty right now, he is getting neutered today :-(

We have a new challenge for you at digital tuesday, this week it was Lora's turn to choose a theme and she chose something

for the kids.

What a fun theme, I love making cards for kids, in fact I think most of my cards are suitable for kids as I just love cute images!

I did have some trouble though deciding on what image to use, as I have soooo many "cute ones" to choose from. Finally decided to play with one of Mo Manning's images so I could enter Bronte and Bella's challenge this week which is "show us some attitude". I do think this little boy seems to be sneaking in a cookie, so that counts as an attitude, right?

My sketch was inspired by this week's sketch saturday, but I could not get the triangles to work for me, so I left them off and won't be entering my card there this week.

I used papers from a basic grey 6x6 paper pack. Embellished with some olive grosgrain ribbon and a button with some linen thread. To finish it off I did some zigzag sewing with my janome mini. That is all, didn't even add any glitter on this! Oh, and the coloring was done with my derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil, and then some copic markers for skin tones.

Here are a few other challenges I'd like to combine:
Ok, that should be all this time. I hope you can join us this week. My Grafico is sponsoring our challenge and they are giving away one digistamp set plus a 20% off voucher to be used in their store! All you have to do to get a chance at winning, is make something for a child and use something digital on your project. You may even combine it with other challenges, as long as it's a new project.

Have a great day!!

Spring Somethings

It's Friday again and that means a new challenge over at stamp something!

Spring something

is our theme this week! Sad to say that it got waaaay too cold here in IL again, we are even supposed to get some snow flurries :(

For my card today I used a digi from Phindy's place. It's been colored with derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

The paper is by "Three bugs in a rug "Chloe" - double sided. I distressed all edges and did some sewing with my janome mini. Around the image I used a stamp from itty bitty backgrounds by Stampin Up, then added some dazzling diamonds.
I embellished with ribbon, prima flowers and sticky pearls.

I would love to combine this card with the following challenges:

Our monthly sponsor Simon Says is back again this week offering a fantastic prize to one lucky winner! Hope you can play along!

Button up

Happy Tuesday

and

Happy Spring!!!

I am so excited that it is now officially spring!! I just love spring and I can't wait to see all the trees turn green!
I made this card for this week's Digital Tuesday challenge. Karen is our hostess and she chose the theme

Button up.

You can use one button or a lot of buttons. Of course we have another fabulous sponsor, this week it's the stamping boutique and they also generously gave the Design Team a few images to choose from. I fell in love with the "Fairies Frolic" image so of course it is what I chose to use.

I actually printed the image out three times because I wanted to do a 3D effect, but I am not sure it shows well in my picture. The flowers that you see are all part of this amazing image, as is the fairy sitting on the mushroom and all of the little fairies in the background.
The image can be purchased here.

Card front was adhered with pop up dots because I wanted the little fairies to be in the background. My paper is from my stash, I think it might be from a DCWV stack.
I kept the card pretty simple, and just embellished with the flowers which are part of the image, a button with silver cord and then to finish it off I did some paper piercing and added glitter. The sentiment is from the clear penny black stamp "critter party".

Here are a few other challenges I am combining this with:
I hope you find some time time to play along this week. There are 5 digis up for grabs from our amazing sponsor!! And they have so many to choose from!!

Have a happy and sunny day!
Ellie.

How does your garden grow - F4A56

Today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers is called "How does your garden grow". It has been so long since I played an SCS challenge but made some time today. I already had my image colored so it didn't take very long.

I just love this new digi from Wee Stamps. Bought it about a week ago but hadn't found the time yet to use it.
I colored it with derwent coloursoft pencils and used baby oil for blending.

My patterned papers are from stampin up (retired), and I used Gina K white and bazzill colored card stock. I embellished with some prima flowers, brads, ribbon and some glitter. To finish it off I did some distressing and sewing with my janome mini sewing machine.

Here is a closeup of the image.

The challenges I combined:
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Stamp something sweet

I can't believe it's friday already! This month is really flying by so fast, I can't believe it is going to be officially spring next week! We already had some nice days this week, hope it stays that way next week when the kids are on spring break!

We have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Something, it is

Something Sweet

For my card I used a sweet image from our sponsor, Sugar Nellie, who generously gave the Design Team stamps to work with!

I colored using derwent coloursoft pencils and some copics for the skin tones.I used papers from Bo Bunny (I think??), and card stock from bazzil. The sketch is again pretty simple. I am really enjoying the simpler sketches at the moment. I embellished with some polka dotted ribbon, and a flower with brad. To finish it off I did some sewing with my sewing machine.

In addition to stamp something I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:

I hope you get to join us this week. A fabulous prize is up for grabs from our sponsor
Sugar Nellie !

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Baby Birthday card

Happy Thursday!!

Melissa from Meljen's Designs has a new release out today and since it's such a cute release I couldn't resist playing along this week even though I have tons to do!!!

I used the image "Cuddle Bun Birthday" for my card. It can be purchased here at Whimsy Stamps. I made it for a little girl using girl-y colors but have plans on making another one for a little boy. It's just so much fun to color!

Here's a closeup of the image.

Would love to enter my card to the following challenges:

That is about it, I am going to clean up my paper craft mess now, and then it's time for household chores :-(

I'll be back tomorrow with my stamp something card. Hope you'll check back then!

have a great day,
Ellie.

It's a Magical World

Hello everyone and a happy tuesday!!

This week it is my turn to host the challenge over at digital tuesday, that means I got to choose the theme.

It's a magical world

is what I chose, that means I'd love to see fairies, gnomes, elves, dragons, all things magical!

We are sponsored by Spesch Designer Stamps this time and Tracey of Spesch Stamps kindly let each DesignTeam member choose one of her adorable digis. I had just recently discovered Sylvia Zet's art and was thrilled to see that Tracey also has some of her art for sale in her shop. So I chose the image "Loves me not" by Sylvia Zet. So cute!!

Since I usually have some sort of pink on my cards, I decided to go purple this time.
Image was colored with my derwent coloursoft pencils and blended with baby oil.

Papers are (retired) from Stampin Up. I used some nestabilites to cut out and mat the image on, added some photo corners, and did some sewing with my janome sew mini. Embellished with a couple of prima flowers with pearls and ribbon and then added some glitter here and there. The sentiment is also from Stampin up.

I am combining this with a few other challenges:
I really hope you'll play along in my challenge, can't wait to see all of the magical digis that are out there!!

Have a great day!
Ellie.

Stamp Something Cream and Green

Happy Friday!! Hope you had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend! Maybe you are lucky enough to have some sunshine and a warmer temperature.

I made today's card for our challenge over at Stamp Something.

Something green and cream.

For my card I used one of my Popcorn the Bear Stamps. Image has been colored with derwent coloursoft and baby oil for blending. My papers are from my box of scraps, these are from Stampin Up.

I kept the card pretty simple. I have been enjoying making simpler cards and using simple sketches these days!

Embellished with just a button with some ribbon and thread and then I added a prima flower in place of the "stamped" flower from the image. The sentiment came from the same set, I cut it apart to fit on my design. To finish it all off I did some sewing with my janome sew mini.

I'd like to combine my card with the following challenges:
Hope you'll find some time to join us this week! We have another amazing sponsor, Michelle's Scrapbooking and more and there is a fun prize up for grabs!

Have a great day!!
Ellie.

Sparkle

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Today is new release day over at Meljen's Designs, she just released a bunch of cute and fun things for St. Patrick's Day. Of course since I love bunnies I knew right away I was going to use this one!! I printed the image out twice so that I could pop up some of the clovers.

I colored everything using my derwent coloursoft pencils and then some baby oil for blending. Papers are from stampin up. I used some prima flowers with rhinestones for embellishing, added some ribbon and of course there had to be sparkles too so I used some stickles on the gold and flowers. My sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

There are a few challenges I am entering this to:
Here's a picture of all of today's released digis

They are available for purchase at Whimsy Stamps.
Oh, and just in case you didn't know, Whimsy stamps has all Rubber Stamps on sale for
25% off
until March 13th.

Have a great day,
I'll be back tomorrow with a new card!

Digital Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy tuesday!!

Today is such an exciting day!! We are celebrating our 100th challenge over at Digital Tuesday!! And what better way to celebrate than with a blog hop!

If you arrived here from the amazing Anneke's blog , you are on the right track, but if not you will want to start at the beginning of the hop at LORA'S blog.

Each DT member is featuring one of our amazing sponsors with a prize from that sponsor. To win these prizes, all you have to do is leave a comment on each of the design team members blogs.
There is also a grand prize on the challenge blog which in order to win you must enter the challenge as you normally would (remember you can use any digital element, it doesn't have to be a digital image) and then collect all the "special" letters from the DT blogs and follow the instructions on the Digital Tuesday challenge blog when you reach the end of the hop.

My blog is being sponsored by the Paper Pretties. You can visit their store by simply clicking the logo below.

One randomly chosen winner off my comments on this post will receive 3 of their adorable digis!
I was also able to choose one of their images to use for today's blog hop, and with spring and easter around the corner I decided to go with a "spring celebration" card. I just love this cute image!!

Here is the other side of the oval.

The image and sentiment have both been printed out on the computer. Both were cut out using an oval shape. I taped some silver cord on the inside of one oval and then glued the two ovals together. I cut out a larger oval from the designer paper and also the card base. Then I taped the silver cord on the inside of the card and covered that with some matting. I really like how it sort of "swings". And I thought this image would be perfect for it! Papers are from Stampin up and I embellished with a prima flower, button and silver cord, and on the other side I attached a punched out butterfly (martha stewart punch), with some sticky pearls.

Now back to the blog hop info:
The letter you need from me is E.

And the next stop on the hop is Karen's fabulous blog!

Thanks so much for joining us for our 100th challenge blog hop and please remember to leave a comment on every blog along the way for a chance to win the prizes!!

Here is a list of the hop order is case you get lost.
