Allsorts 413 - Embossing

This week at Allsorts we would like to see some embossing, heat or dry, it doesn't matter which you choose, you can even do both. We have a great prize up for grabs generously sponsored by Sizzix, I hope you'll come join us for a chance to win!

I decided to make two baby cards for today using a cute stamp from LOTV. This is a new stamp to me, so much for my new year's resolution of not buying new stamps ... oh well, maybe next year 😁
The image has been stamped onto xpress it blending card and colored with copic markers. A hearts embossing folder was used and I embellished with cotton crochet trim and silk ribbon. Wink of stella was brushed over the balloon. The sentiment is from a set by Whimsy Stamps.

I also made a boy version of this same card:
Exactly the same, I just switched up the color and used gingham ribbon in place of white silk ribbon. Not so sure I like the bows, but I guess the do go well with baby themed cards.

And that would be all for today, I hope you enjoy your weekend. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Started up again with my daily Pilates and Yoga routine this week and my body is so sore, but have really enjoyed getting back to it after a 2 months break (because I had a cough that just wouldn't go away).  And last weekend we planted 3 trees and some new flowers and so it will be nice to relax this weekend. Although a little bit of sunshine would be nice too, but I don't think it'll happen this weekend!

Allsorts No. 412 - I Spy...

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a nice and sunny weekend! And maybe you'll find some time to join us over at Allsorts challenge :)
We have another fun challenge for you, this week it's "I spy something beginning with a B".
Lots of possibilities here, and we  have a great prize to give away too!

I went with B for bluish gray birds and blossoms
I used a really old Penny Black stamp (Floral Doves) for my card today, it's been heat embossed on Bristol Vellum card stock and colored with zig clean color brush pens. I thought this image would be perfect for a wedding or anniversary card, so that is what I made. Sentiment and flourish stamp I used along the border are both by Whimsy Stamps (older and probably retired).
White grosgrain ribbon and some stitching finishes off the card. I also added Wink of Stella glitter to the blossoms, which you can see in the photo below.

This card is available in my Etsy shop, if you're interested.
Also take a look at the Penny Black stamps in my shop, I have just reduced all prices yesterday. All stamps are brand new. Shipping to US only, so sorry, but postage is just too much to ship outside the States.

I am also playing along here:
Crafty Girls Creations -Always Anything Goes
Moving along with the Times - Birds & Feathers
Paper Shelter Challenge - Use a Sentiment
And that is all for today.
Thanks so much for visiting and I hope to see you play along at Allsorts this week.

More Spring Things for Penny Black and More

Time for a little more spring inspiration for the Penny Black and More challenge reminder today! Our theme is "Spring" so come join us and share your spring creations for a chance to win one of the wonderful prizes. Remember you don't have to use a Penny Black stamp, any make goes, just no digis.
I heat embossed the image (What a Spring by Penny Black) on Bristol Vellum card stock and then watercolored using Zig Clean Color. The edges were inked using Stampin Up Bashful Blue ink (sadly I think it's retired), and I sewed the edges using my Janome sewing machine. Sentiment is also an old one from Penny Black. I used bashful blue gingham ribbon (also from SU- retired) as an embellishment.
Some Wink of Stella was applied to the tulips and butterflies and I adhered it to a green card base. Designer paper is from my stash.

A little close up below...
I am playing along here:

Allsorts Challenge 411 - A Sketch

Hi everyone, Saturday already and I hope you're all having a nice and sunny Easter Weekend.
It's also time for a new challenge at Allsorts, this week it's Kath's turn to host and she came up with a fun sketch. Hope you'll join us for a chance to win a wonderful prize sponsored by Lets Create.

Above is the card I created based on the sketch:

The pretty flowers are from a clear Penny Black set, they were colored with Zig Clean color brush pens and fussy cut. The papers are all from my stash and I decided to use some sheer ribbon and some twine on this card. The beautiful sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set. To finish if off I stamped a couple of flowers (by Stampin Up- retired) right over the sentiment.
Wink of Stella was brushed over the flowers, but like usual it's hard to see in the photos.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Easter!!

Allsorts 410 - Bring on the Bling

Saturday already and time for a new challenge at Allsorts. Tracy is our hostess this week and she would like to see some bling.

I didn't plan on making two cards, but had the sheet of Penny Back stickeroos in front of me and I couldn't decide which one to use, so I just decided to make two.

The sketch on the card above was inspired by an old MFT sketch. Designer paper is from MME and sentiment is from a clear set by Penny Black. I embellished with a button and twine, and added 3 rhinestones to finish off this card.

For my second card I just chose some paper scraps from my ever growing box of scraps to match the image, rounded the corners of the image and played with the card elements until I finally decided on this sketch. I added some punched out butterflies (MarthaStewart punch) with rhinestones and again, twine. I also used the same sentiment by Penny Black like I did on the card above.
Wink of Stella was added to the flowers on both cards but as usual it's so hard to see in the pictures.

This week we are kindly being sponsored by Marianne Designs, hope you'll come join us for a chance to win a great prize.

That should be all for today, hope you're having a wonderful weekend. The sun finally came out here, we've had such depressing cloudy weather for way too long, that I am sooooo happy to finally see a blue sky again!

Penny Black and More - April Challenge

This month at Penny Black and More our challenge theme is  "All Things Spring". As always we  have some wonderful prizes to give away, just be sure to follow our simple rules to play along and you will be entered into the prize drawings. This month we are being sponsored by Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons, Tattered Lace and Stix2.

For today's card I decided to make a girly Easter Card using the Penny Black Stamp set Easter Parade.

I used my current favorite coloring medium again - Zig clean color brush pens - on Winsor & Newton Watercolor Marker paper. The image has been heat embossed. I wanted the coloring to be light and pastel so I used the lightest colors from the set.

An old SU flower trio punch was used to punch out the cute flowers and sticky halfback pearls as flower centers. I've had the pretty designer paper for a while, I think it's by Bo Bunny, but not sure...
Sentiment is also by Penny Black, a little wood mounted stamp. To finish off the card I added wink of stella to the eggs and the girl's bow, and did some paper piercing.

Inside I used another cute stamp from the Penny Black set, sentiment is from Stampin Up (really old) and then I decorated with a matching strip of designer paper.

And that is all for today. Thanks so much for visiting! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Allsorts 409 - Food

Happy April Fool's Day 😀
Hard to believe it's April already! I just hope we'll see some sunshine soon, this past week has been nothing but gloomy weather...

Saturday already again and that means it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts. It's Wendy's turn to host and this week it is all about Food.

I love all things sour and I love lemons, not just for lemonade. I love to eat them with just a bit of sugar or just plain.
So I decided to use this cute Penny Black mouse stamp to create my card. Stamped onto winsor and newton watercolor marker paper and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I currently love these pens so much, only bought the 36 pack, and there really are plenty of colors included in that set, but I really want to add some more to my collection.

I kept the card clean and simple. The sentiment was computer generated and I used the Whimsy Stamps Slider die (now retired) to cut it out. The pretty designer paper is by Stampin Up (also retired) and I finished it off by sewing and a little button and jute twine.

Here is what the inside looks like:
I used another cute mouse stamp from one of Penny Black's clear sets, also colored with the Zig Watercolor Pens on Winsor and Newton Marker paper and I used a circle die to cut it out. Matted it onto matching designer paper and completed the sentiment. The lemon die cut is by Whimsy Stamps, most likely also retired.
This week we are being sponsored by Digistamp Boutique and Stamp Addicts, so we have two great prizes to give away. It's easy to play along, simply follow our theme and link your card up at Allsorts. Our simple rules can be found on the challenge blog.  Hope to see you there :)

This card is listed in my Etsy shop, if you're interested.

I am also entering my card here:
As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Colouring Medium- my second entry, still using my favorites Zig Clean color brush pens, love how easy and quick they are to use
Fairy Tale - Cards with Animals (week 1)

That would be it for today. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I'm going to see the Beauty and the Beast again today, once wasn't enough, and I don't want to wait until the DVD is released.
I love musicals and I love Disney princess movies (this one being my favorite), and what an amazing cast they found for this movie!

Have a great day! I'll be back again tomorrow for the new Penny Black and More challenge.
