A card and some fun news :-)

Hello everyone, I have some fun and exciting news to share today...I was invited by Brenda to join the Allsorts challenge design team. This is the perfect reason for me to start making more cards again. I have to admit, I have neglected my blog/hobby a little bit lately with the excuse that I don't have time, which is somewhat true, but since I enjoy card making so much, I now have a reason again to find or make the time๐Ÿ˜Š. Thank you Brenda, and thank you to the Allsorts team for allowing me to be part of your amazing team!

Today I am sharing my first DT card for Allsorts challenge. Helene is our hostess this time and she would like to see us use some metal or a charm. Here is what I came up with...

I used a stamp from PSX (K2883), it's a really old stamp, sadly the company is no longer in business, but the stamp is new to me, I just discovered this company last Fall and found some of their stamps on ebay.
I heat embossed the image on Bristol Vellum card stock, then colored using Zig clean color brush pens. Sentiment was also heat embossed. The sentiment is from the clear set Allegro by Penny Black. I thought it went so well with the image.
For my metal piece I used a clip from SU's Hodgepodge hardware set (retired) and tied a gingham ribbon scrap onto it. The image panel has been adhered to the card front with dimensionals. Not sure if you can tell, but the whole image has been covered with wink of stella for some nice shimmer. A close up is below, but I think the sparkles are more visible in the photo above.

I love all the details on this image and had to have it once I saw it. Luckily I found it at a reasonable price, which is sometimes hard with these stamps as they are now considered a collectable.

I hope you'll come join us this week at Allsorts, we have a great prize by Tattered Lace on offer.

I am also playing along here:

I'll be spending it at home relaxing and drinking hot tea to help me get over this flu/cough or whatever virus the kids passed on to me.

Penny Black and More - February Midmonth reminder

Did you get a chance yet to play along in this month's Penny Black and More challenge? Still a little time to join in if you haven't already and don't forget you can enter up to 3 times. As always we have several great prizes to give away. Our theme is easy, just use your favorite stamp.

As I said before, it's really hard for me to choose Penny Black favorites because there are so many that I love! For my first DT card for the February challenge I used one of the very first PB stamps I purchased, and for the mid-month post I am using the most recent Penny Black stamp I purchased (Sweet Talk). This stamp is really old but it is new to me, I  found the wood mount version on ebay. Penny Black re-released this stamp in one of their clear sets at a smaller scale. (Sorry but I don't know the name of the clear set).

Image has been heat embossed on Bristol Vellum cardstock and Zig clean color brush pens have been used for coloring. Isn't the bunny adorable!!!
The sentiment is from a set by Crafter's Companion, also heat embossed. Patterned paper is from my stash. The card has been kept pretty CAS, but I decided to add a little yellow butterfly with some rhinestones to bring in a little more color.
(Silly me - I forgot to color parts of the flowers but that will be taken care of. Didn't notice until writing up this post. )

It's really hard to tell, but I used Wink of Stella on all the roses and butterfly. They are really sparkly in real life.

If you're interested in purchasing this card, you can find it in my Etsy shop along with some others and some stamps as well. (US shipping)

    I Carry Your Heart...

    Happy Valentine's Day!

I have one more Valentine's card to share with you, I made this one for my husband. The image is so delicate, so I decided to use watercolors for coloring and I kept the card clean and simple.

It's been stamped onto Bristol Vellum card stock using versafine onyx ink. The stamp is from the set All Abloom by Penny Black, available HERE. I paired it with a sentiment from the set So Very Much, also by Penny Black. It's actually one large sentiment, I just stamped part of it on top and the other half on the bottom.

Wink of Stella was applied to the image, you can see the sparkle in the close up below.

Striped paper is by My Minds Eye and card base is Island Indigo by SU.

This week I am playing along at Allsorts with the theme of Heart and/or Flowers. Cards in Envy wants to see Valentine Cards so I am entering there too. Anything goes at Crafting from the Heart.

And that is all for this year's Valentine's cards.
If you missed the two I made for the kids and would like to see them, you can find them by clicking HERE and HERE

Have a great day filled with lots of love๐Ÿ’—

    Happy Heart Day

One of the New Year's resolutions I made this year was to use more of my old stamps and quit buying new. It's really hard when you get all the pretty new releases in the inbox, but I have been good so far and haven't bought new stamps yet this year (besides one old PSX stamp from ebay - couldn't resist!)

So for today's card I used a stamp from the old Stampin Up set "Happy Heart Day". I thought this cute mouse would work well for a masculine card. I plan on giving this one to my son for Valentines Day. Hope he doesn't mind the Wink of Stella shimmer I added to the heart ๐Ÿ˜€.

The mouse was heat embossed on Bristol Vellum card then colored using Zig Clean Color brush pens. I tried to keep the card simple, but I did use an embossing folder for the background to add a little bit of interest. Eyelets are another one of my crafty things that I don't use often, but I thought they were perfect for this card sketch. Sentiment is from the set "So Very Much" by Penny Black. I used a few candy dots by Stampin up to add some color to the sentiment.

A little close up above. The heart is covered in Wink of Stella, but it's really hard to see in the photos. The image panel has been popped up on dimensionals.

    I am playing along here:
    Stamping Sensations - Animal Magic
Cards und More - Pets and other Furry Friends
Cardz 4 Guyz - Love You
Cute Card Thursday - Be My Valentine
    Have a great day!!

Penny Black and More - February Challenge

A  new month already...I was supposed to be back with the linky parties, but unfortunately they are still on hold and I am not sure when I'll bring them back. While I do love hosting them and visiting all the blogs, commenting does takes up so much time, and I just don't feel like I have the time right now.

But luckily I am still able to make some cards and today I am sharing a card made for the new Penny Black and More challenge. This month we're wanting to see you use your favorite stamp. I have lots of favorite Penny Black stamps, so I decided to go with one of my first Penny Black stamps called Guess What.

I heat embossed the image before coloring with Zig Clean Color brush pens on Winsor & Newton watercolor marker paper. The patterned paper is from my stash, probably My Minds Eye. I used a butterfly border die from Whimsy stamps and added some Wink of Stella glitter to make it sparkle. A button and some twine finishes off the card. The sentiment is from the Penny Black set "All Abloom", also heat embossed.

    Closeup below...

You can find this card in my Etsy shop, along with the stamps I used today (brand new), if you're interested. (US shipping)
