Happy Monday and Welcome to another Monday Morning challenge! Huge thanks to everyone that played along in my last challenge! It was wonderful seeing all your gorgeous colorful creations! The winning number - selected by random.org - is No. 14. That would be

Gloria Shirr

Congratulations, Gloria. Please email me your mailing address at
ellibelle_blog at yahoo dot com
so I can get the prize shipped to you.

************************

For this month I have chosen a very simple theme, and very fitting for this time of the year...

*Pretty Flowers*

They don't have to be the focal point of you card, just be sure there are some flowers somewhere on your creation.

Feel free to use any stamp maker, and you may combine this with any other challenges.
Just remember these simple rules:
It must be a new creation
You must mention my challenge and link back here in your post
You may enter up to 4 times
Please note, winner will be chosen from US entries due to postage cost and lack of tracking overseas.

For this month I inked up the stamp Divine, which was one of the large beautiful floral stamps released by Penny Black earlier this year.

The blooms on this stamp are large enough to paper piece. It's what I had in mind when I purchased this stamp. I used some polka dotted paper from my stash, but also used a gray copic to add some shadows on the paper. The background was masked off using washi tape, then watercolored. The words stamped on the bottom were done with a clear set from Whimsy Stamps.  After removing the washi tape, I stamped the image and then added the fussy cut blooms.

Product List:
Divine, Snippets
(both are available in my Stamp Shop)
basic backgrounds and borders (Whimsy Stamps)
mixed media card and neenah card stock
striped vellum, designer paper from stash
watercolor paints, button, hemp twine

This month I am giving away this beautiful stencil to one randomly selected winner.

Now it's your turn to get inky. To play along simply link your creation below. If inlinkz is not available, simply leave a comment with your post link below.

You have until Sunday May 24th 8AM to play along.

Happy stamping :-)

ETA 5/20/18:

Getting Inky on a Rainy Day

It rained pretty much all day yesterday, so I decided to get another one of my new stamp sets inky :-) I'm not 100% sure I like this card, hopefully I'll get a chance to play with these stamps again.

I stamped the watercolor background by simply inking a small acrylic stamp block with distress inks and spritzed with water. The random dots were made by flicking watercolor brush with the same paint made from distress ink.

Product List:
Distress inks, versafine onyx ink
mixed media and SU card stock
washi tape, vellum striped paper
button, twine

Playing along here:
Challenge Up Your Life - watercolor
Crafty Calendar   - Add a sentiment
Brown Sugar –Anything Goes
Scrap & Craft Challenge  - Ribbon Or Twine
Addicted to Stamps and More -  Anything Goes

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. The sun is out today and we're having a beautiful blue sky. Hopefully it'll warm up a bit more too in the next few days :-)

In the Mountains and By the Sea

Happy Friday! I have two cards to share today, using stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, that I received in my latest Design Team packet.

First up, I created a mountain scenery card. Although I love the look of this card, I am not in love with the way my ink pads stamped. I don't know why I couldn't get a good solid impression...if anyone has any good ink recommendations for solid stamps, please let me know!

Product List:
(stamps above all by JFF)
SU and distress ink,
torn paper mask,  sequins
SU and Neenah card stock

I used more stamps from my last DT packet for the card above. Loved that large background stamp so I had to add it to my design team choices, and the boat is just great to use for masculine cards, so I had to have that one too :-)

Product List:
(all by JFF)
turquoise ink, black ink
SU card stock

And that would be all for today. Thanks so much for visiting!
Have a great weekend!

Whimsy Super Boy

Happy Wednesday! I finally have some time for blogging...I had finished this card last week, just didn't get any time until today to write up my post.
Hope you're all doing great and are enjoying spring. It got cold and windy here this week, hopefully it'll warm up again, but at least the sun has been out for most days :-)

Today I am sharing a card I made with the cute stamp "Super boy" from Whimsy Stamps' latest release. This image was so much fun to color! And I think it's perfect for a little boy's birthday card!

The image has been stamped onto xpress blending card and colored with copic markers. Then fussy cut. The designer paper is really old from Stampin Up. All stars were die cut using Whimsy Stamps dies. "Super Hero" sentiment is part of the set that includes the super boy stamp. Birthday Wishes sentiment is part of the set "Boy Talk".

Happy Days & Sprinkles and Smiles :-)

Happy Weekend!! Hope you're having some nice weather in your part of the world, and hope you'll have some fun things planned! We've  had some wonderful weather the last few days, but supposed to be cloudy today. At least no rain is in the forecast for today :-)

Today's card was made for the midmonth reminder at Penny Black and More. Still some time to play along with us for a chance to win one of the wonderful prizes. You don't have to use a Penny Black stamp to be entered, any brand works, just no digi stamps.

I got my new stamp set "Happy Days" inky for this card, and used it along with the sentiment set "Sprinkles and Smiles" and my new favorite stencil "Hypnotic".

I stamped the image onto blending card and colored with copics and also used a dark brown pencil for some hair strands. The background was made by inking it with yellow and orange, and then stenciling the design onto it using the "Hypnotic" stencil. Image  has been fussy cut. It's a pretty simple sketch, I just added a strip of designer paper to the top and then some sequins and glitter for embellishment.

Here is what the inside looks like.

I simply stenciled it using the same stencil, and then stamped another sentiment from the Sprinkles and Smiles set. Added a matching strip of designer paper to the bottom and adhered it onto the card base. The sentiments in that sentiment set are so fun to use!!

And then here is another peek at cute Mimi :-)
I used a white Faber Castell Pitt marker to add dots to her cheeks, highlights on the balloon and sprinkles on the cupcake. The dotted "paper" is washi tape.

Products used:
Happy Days (sorry this set just sold out in my shop),
 Sprinkles and Smiles,
Hypnotic stencil
distress inks, memento ink
SU, xpress it and neenah card stock
washi tape, glitter, sequins
Faber castell pitt marker for white highlights

Whimsy Stamps - April Rubber Stamps and Dies Release Day

Hello and welcome to the 3rd (and last) day of Whimsy Stamps' April Rubber Stamp and Die release blog hop. All new goodies are available to purchase right now at the Whimsy Stamps shop
I hope you were able to hop along with us the last 2 days, but if not, today we are having our grand blog hop, which means a fabulous prize of $25 for the Whimsy Shop is up for grabs! To be entered into the drawing, simply visit all DT members blogs (below), and leave a comment along the way.

I made a little mixed media style card for today, using the cute stamp "Perscilla" from the Lizzy Love collection.
The image has been stamped onto xpress blending card and colored using copic markers. I used acrylic paints along with white craft ink and black ink for my background, and some word background stamps. It needed something pink so I used some pink designer paper on the bottom.
To finish the card off, I stenciled a design using black ink in the corner, added the sentiment which is part of the "Perscilla" stamp set. Of course, right after I was finished with the card, I noticed that I had cut the flowers she is holding off :-( but sadly there was no time to re-do the whole card, and I used liquid glue to adhere the image, so I wasn't even able to remove it.

You make me smile for Crafting by Designs

Happy Wednesday and thanks so much for visiting!

I was recently invited to be a guest designer for this week's "Crafting by Designs" challenge. Thanks so much for having me,  crafting by designs team!

The challenge this week is Shaped Cards. I knew right away I wanted to use this cute stamp today, but I had planned on using it on a star shaped card. After playing with my design, it just didn't work out as I wanted to, so I went the easy way and made a circle shaped card instead.
I stamped the image on copic blending card and colored using copic markers. Created a mask so I could ink the background using not quite navy ink (SU). Mounted on a white scallop and then yellow designer paper, and then added the sentiment which I tied some twine to. I finished it off with some diecut stars (Whimsy Stamps die), and then adhered it onto my scallop circle card base.

 Product list:
(both are available in my Etsy *Stamp* shop)
Papers from SU, DCWV, xpress it, Neenah
pierced stacking star die (whimsy stamps)
glitter, twine
copics for coloring

Whimsy Stamps - April Rubber Stamp Release Day 2

Happy Tuesday and Welcome to the 2nd Day of Whimsy Stamps Rubber Stamp and Die Release Blog Hop!

Like yesterday, there is a fabulous prize up for grabs today, and then tomorrow, we are having our grand blog hop and a bigger prize, so be sure to hop along on both days to be entered.
Today we are showing you creations made with stamps by Mi Ran, Krista Heij-Barber and Wee Stamps.
I used the new rubber stamp "Steam Punk" by Mi Ran. I had lots of fun coloring up this image. I wanted to try another color besides blonde or brown for the hair, this is my first time doing a grayish black color. I also used a blue copic for the hair to give it a blue-ish undertone. I knew I wanted to do black, red and white as my main colors, but then decided to add some more blue too, to coordinate with the blue-ish/ black-ish hair. I really love how the finished card turned out :-)

The sentiment and the cross stitch border on the bottom are also from this release from the set "Sew Special".  The diecut heart button was done using one of the new button dies

Here is another view.
The little square blocks have been stamped using a really old SU set, but you could also use a small square acrylic block or create your own square stamp using crafting foam. The clock designs were stenciled.
I embellished with some twine and glitter, and did some sewing with my sewing machine.

If you'd like to hop along with us today simply visit the blogs listed below, and don't forget to leave a comment at each stop. The prize is hidden in one of the blogs, and winner will be chosen from the comments left.

Happy Hopping and Good Luck!!

PS: This card is going up for sale in my Etsy *card* shop in a little bit :-)

A Card for a Boy

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to create my weekly Whimsy card for this week...too much sickness has been going around our house for a few weeks now. I am hoping that everyone has recovered now. I apologize for not having done a whole lot of blog commenting in the recent weeks.

I was working on my new release cards yesterday (for next week's blog hops), when I decided to create this quick card that requires no coloring. As much as I enjoy coloring, I also love just stamped cards, and I think it'll make a great card for one of the kid's class mates.
Just did some stamping and added washi tape and some designer papers. The circle sentiment was popped up using dimensionals.

Products used:
neenah &SU card stock, MME designer paper
washi tape
SU and distress ink

I am entering the card here:

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a wonderful and sunny weekend.
I will be back with a new project on Tuesday for our Whimsy Stamps April release & blog hop.

Poppy and Bee

Happy Friday! It's my turn this Friday to post to the Just for Fun Rubber Stamps blog, and I created a CAS card for my post, using the beautiful stamp "Gathering Pollen". I love poppies and knew I had to have this one, as I don't have a big collection of Poppy stamps.

The frame is not part of the stamp, it was one more recently released stamp from JFF, and I thought it would work really well with this stamp. The frame was stamped first, then I stamped the flower to fit the bloom inside the frame. The bloom was stamped again onto xpress it blending card and colored with copic markers, then fussy cut. I adhered it then with pop up tape, but it's  hard to see in the photo. I colored the inside of the frame using a copic marker. The red and white striped paper is vellum paper. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card stock and then attached to my card. The only embellishment is glitter.

Penny Black and More - April Challenge

Wishing all my blogging friends and readers a
very Happy Easter, filled with lots of sunshine, love and happy memories.

It's the first Sunday of the month, and that means it's time for a new Penny Black and More challenge. We have another fun and easy theme for you - Birthdays. I hope you'll play along with us. You have until the end of the month to join us, and don't forget you don't have to use a Penny Black stamp, any company works, just no digi stamps.

For my card today I inked up some of my brand new favorites from Penny Black's Bring on the Happy Release. It took a while for these stamps to arrive at my house, but I am so happy that I finally got them and the wait was well worth it. By the way, all new stamps that I had on order are now finally available in my Etsy *Stamp* shop.

I didn't really intend for the background to look "beach-y" but somehow it does LOL. I guess no-one said you can't eat a cupcake on the beach :-)

I started out by stamping my image using memento ink onto xpress it blending card. It's been colored using copic markers. I stamped the image again onto a sticky note, and cut out a mask to cover up my image on the card, so I could do some stenciling.
The beautiful stencil is also new from Penny Black - Hypnotic. I used SU's soft sky ink for stenciling. Another stencil was used on the bottom portion. Glittered the wings and a little bit of the icing and then stamped the sentiment. I didn't really plan on ever purchasing any Penny Black sentiment sets (because I have so many sentiments already), but really fell in love with their sentiments from this release, so I bought 3 (they are all available in my shop too.)

I used another sentiment from this set "Sprinkles and Smiles" on the inside, and did some stenciling too.

Products used:
(all 3 are available in my Etsy stamp shop)
MME designer paper, xpress card, recollections 110lb card stock
copics and pencils for coloring
washi tape, glitter, sequins

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Happy Hello

Time for a little Whimsy inspiration, so I decided to turn this cutie, that I colored a few days ago, into a card. What a fun image to work with! It's been stamped onto blending card using memento ink and then colored using copic markers.

I kept the card clean and simple. Just added some designer paper to resemble a tree trunk, and cut out a "hill" for some grass. Added some washi tape and the sentiment, and then embellished with a flower, some twine and punched butterflies.
This stamp does come with a matching sentiment - Hang in there - but I chose to use a "happy hello" sentiment instead.

Products used:
Hanging in thereEveryday Moments
(both by Whimsy Stamps)
xpress blending card, Prima designer paper, SU card stock
stitched border trio die set (Whimsy Stamps)
MS butterfly punch, glitter, flower, twine, brad
 copics for coloring
