Miyako and Kate

I have been doing a little bit of coloring and so I decided to make a card to play in a few challenges.
The stamps I used are from Whimsy's newest release. Did you get to see all the latest Whimsy products, including the new line of photopolymer stamp sets, which is in addition to the red rubber stamps! And don't forget the matching dies. The new photopolymer stamps are made here in the US and they stamp beautifully. I cannot tell you how much I wish another one of my favorite stamp companies would have their clear stamps made in the US. It makes such a big difference!!

I didn't use a clear stamp on today's card, as there is a separate DT for the Clearly Whimsy line, but I was sent a clear set and that is how I know that they stamp so beautifully!

To make this card I stamped the image Miyako and Kate from Whimsy's Sandy Allnock Designs onto kraft card stock using versafine onyx ink. I decided to get out my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and do some pencil coloring.
The "frame" I used behind the sentiment and butterfly are from the rubber set Tabula Rasa by Whimsy's Raindrop Echo Designs. I simply cut it out using my cutterbee scissors and inked up the edges.   The little sentiment is part of the set Miyako and Kate. It actually comes with several great sentiments. Designer papers are from MME. Butterfly was punched out using a Martha Stewart punch. Added some twine and glitter to finish it off.

I am playing along in the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew  Animals
Hobbycutz   Girly but no Pink.
Crafty Calendar   Animal Antics
Pumpkin spice  Dots
And that is all for today. Thanks for visiting!

Here is my creation for today's hop.
I used the stamp "Birthday Present" from Whimsy's Time for Tea designs.

She has been colored using copic markers, cut out using cutterbee scissors, and then adhered to my card. The sentiment is from the new set "Mini Chalkboards" from Whimsy's SC designs. I stamped it onto espresso card stock with versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The designer paper used is from my stash.
I simple added a button with some twine and did some sewing to finish it off.

Playing with ink and a mix of stamps

I finally have a new card to show you! My lost package of Penny Black stamps has finally arrived and of course I couldn't wait to ink up some new stamps.
I created a floral card today, using a mix of stamps and inks, embossing powder and glitter.

This card was so much fun to make! I started out by inking up the paper using distress inks. Then I randomly used different stamps on the paper using matching distress inks. The large flower in the foreground was stamped using memento ink, so I could color it with copic markers. The last stamping I did was stamp the harlequin stamp with versamark and emboss with white embossing powder. You can find the complete list of stamps and products used at the end of this post.

Here is a another view.

I am playing along in a few challenges too:

A Vintage Journey -Anything Tim Holtz
Alphabet Challenge -  C for Country Flowers
Challenges and candies Flowers
Seize The Birthday -  Birthday Stitches
Crafty Creations - Happy Birthday
Tuesday Throwdown - Stitching
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Distress
Stamp and Create - Ready for Spring

I decided to show you one reason why I don't make as many cards as I want to -
because I hate cleaning up my desk when I am finished with a project. And it is hard for me to start a new project with this mess.

Below is the other side of my desk. This side is usually covered in designer papers and diecuts/ metal dies, but not today since I didn't use any.

Just noticed my embossing powder still dumped out, which I better clean up soon before the kitties get into it.
Thanks for stopping by,
hope you have a fabulous and sunny weekend!

Products used:
Stamps: Delicate Florals (Penny Black), Looks like Spring (SU-retired), Lavish Flourishes (Whimsy Stamps), Music sheet (Hero Arts), Simple Sentiments (NEW CLEAR stamp set by Whimsy stamps)
Inks: Tim Holtz distress inks (broken china, spiced marmalade, peeled paint), memento tuxedo , versamark
Tools: ink applicator, heating tool for embossing
Embellishments: glitter, embossing powder, button, twine.
Blooms colored with copic markers.

WordPlay Saturday - March Challenge

Happy Saturday and thanks for stopping by!
It is already the second saturday of the month, and that means it's time for a new wordplay saturday challenge here on my blog.

That is kbrandy4.

Congratulation, please email me (ellibelle_blog at yahoo dot com) your mailing address so I can get your prize mailed to you.

-----------------------

I have decided that this month's challenge will be the last one for now. It has been a long long winter and I am really looking forward to warmer weather and a little more time outside.
Thank you everyone for your support and for playing along in my challenges over these last 12+ month!!

For this month the challenge word I have chosen is...

Anything.

So anything goes this month, just be sure it is something new and not backlinked.
Here is what I made.

For my card I used one of the Henry the Mouse stamps from the
The kit was only available for pre-order and cannot be ordered any longer.
But soon the Summer Stamp kit will be available for pre-order, and as soon as I get my kit I will be showing some sneak peeks.

This month I am giving away this adorable stamp from Whimsy - Love you Mice, from my personal collection, so it has been slightly used.

Think Spring

I recently created this spring themed card for the Whimsy Stamps  Facebook  challenge. This month we'd like to see spring colors! I do hope you'll join us. Of course there will be a prize too!
You can find all the details by clicking the link I posted above.

I used the cute stamp "Think Spring Bunnies"  illustrated by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. Isn't it adorable?! I can't wait to see bunnies in my backyard again, although since we have cats there aren't quite as many as we used to have.

It's been stamped onto Copic xpress blending card and colored using copic markers. I used distress ink and an ink applicator tool to add ink to the white card stock.

The sentiment is from the set "Everyday Moments" from Whimsy's SC designs. I layered it onto part of the Fancy Square die cut, made with Whimsy's die from the latest release. I finished it off by doing some sewing, added a yellow strip of card stock and some twine.

I'd love to play along in a few challenges:

Cute Card Thursday -  Springtime
Glitter n Sparkle - Add a Sentiment

Thanks for visiting and
happy stamping!!

Products used:
Stamps: Think Spring, Everyday Moments (both by Whimsy Stamps)
Inks: Memento black, distress broken china, copics for coloring

Penny Black and More - March Challenge

Well I just can't believe that is finally March! Not really spring like over here yet (we are actually supposed to get more snow this weekend!), but the warmer weather isn't far now :-) I don't think I ever looked forward to spring as much as this year...

Since it's the first Sunday of the Month it is also time for the new Penny Black and More challenge. This month we'd like to see

Something sweet.

This of course can be more than just sweet food, think sweet kids or babies, sweet smelling flowers, etc.

I used the stamp "you're a peach" which was illustrated by Mo Manning and is now available as a cling rubber stamp from Penny Black.

I colored her up with my copic markers, and used my cutterbee scissors to cut it out. I kept the card very CAS, by just adding a strip of washi tape to the right side, and a punched border.
The sentiment is from a set by Flonzcraft, who is one of our generous sponsors this month. The butterflies are art of the stamp, I just placed them differently, since they were cut out too.
I used a stamp from the itty bitty background set (retired SU) behind the image.

I'd love to play along in the following challenges:

DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge -Image of a girl or lady
Seize The Birthday -Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Keep it simple
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Hope you'll join us this month at Penny Black and More, as usual we have some fabulous prizes to give away from our fabulous and very generous sponsors. Of course you may combine it with other challenges, and feel free to use any make stamps, just no digis.

Have a fabulous day!
