A Floral Card in Pink and Yellow

Happy Saturday! It's time for my weekly Allsorts challenge card share. This week our optional theme is "Matching Pairs" however you may interpret that or you could go with "Anything Goes" as the theme is optional.

I decided to make a card and matching envelope but I might also create a matching bookmark to go with the card. Who doesn't love a handmade bookmark!!!??? And it would be a nice little gift to include with a handmade card.

I fell in love with the color combo of pink and yellow from this month's Beautiful Blossoms challenge mood board and so I created this cheerful floral birthday card. Although my pink is a bit too dark. Isn't this a wonderful mood board!! Makes me wish I had a glass of pink lemonade for sure!!

My stamp is Penny Black's Alluring Arrangements. It's a beautiful large stamp and I trimmed part of it off to fit my A2 sized card. I stamped on Neenah 80lb card stock and colored with copic markers. My base pink is Copic color Cotton Candy pink which would have been a better match with the mood board, but I added a little bit (maybe too much!!) of Copic color Shock Pink, blended with cotton candy pink and it turned into this magenta shade.

I used my old Stampin Up French Script background stamp on the background with Mustard Seed Distress ink. My intention was to add a strip of patterned paper to the side of the card but couldn't find something simple enough that I liked and that matched so I made my own by using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and a Lavinia stencil. I added May Arts white silk ribbon and tied the sentiment onto it with some twine. The sentiment is part of the Itty Bitty Basics stamp set from My Favorite Things, I cut the words apart and glued onto a mini die cut tag (tag die option).

You can see the decorated envelope above. I used part of the same stamp. Thought I'd add few more blossoms above this and of course the edge of the rubber had ink on it and transferred onto the envelope when I stamped the blossoms. Since I already had the rest of the blossoms and butterfly on the envelope colored, I decided to make another strip of stenciled paper and adhered it onto the envelope. Inside I used some masking tape, then inked up the edge of the insert with the same ink and stencil. (I didn't photograph the inside but there is a tiny peek on the photo above.) To complete the card I added Stickles glitter glue in Stardust for some sparkles.

Snowdrops and a Bluebird

Another week has flown by and it's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. This week our optional theme is "Something with Wings". We'd love for you to include wings but you may share all your new crafty makes for a chance to win a prize or be selected as one of the Top 5.

This is a new to me stamp by Penny Black (Pretty Perch). I stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on Bristol Vellum paper and used diluted Distress inks for coloring. I used stardust stickles glitter to make the snow sparkle. The patterned papers are from my stash and sentiment from the Penny Black set Blooming Sentiments. Some jute twine finishes off the card.

All About Hearts... and Cats

Hello everyone, it's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. We have another fun optional theme this week and it's "All About Hearts". We'd love to see hearts included on your creations but you may share any of your new crafty makes for a chance to be entered into the prize drawing or be in the top 5.

For today's card I decided to go with one of the cute stamps from the set Penny Black set Jazzy Cats. It could be used as a Valentine's Day themed card but I went with non- traditional Valentines Day colors which I think makes it perfect for a male recipient who likes cats and music :)

I started out by stamping the image on Bristol Vellum paper, colored with Zig Clean Color markers then fussy cut. Inspired by this week's MFT sketch I wanted to use some patterned paper and found this green dotted paper in my box of scraps which I think coordinates well with the color of the piano.

I kept the card in a CAS design by just adding the sentiment and a few tiny die cut hearts cut out from a snippet of blue inked card which was really small enough to throw out but I rescued it, was going to pop it over to Snippets Playground, but afraid I'd be in the naughty corner as I've linked too many challenges below :) I thought about doing a little stenciling but the open space appealed to me so I simply inked the edges with Blueprint Sketch ink and did paper piercing along the left side before adhering to the card base. The sentiment is part of the same set Jazzy Cats, stamped on yet another snippet.

Cat on the Moon

Hello and welcome! It's time already for a new theme at Allsorts challenge. This time it's Lynn's week to host and she picked the optional theme of "I Love...". So we'd love to read about what you love but you may share all your new crafty creations for the anything goes option too to be entered into the prize drawing or to be selected for the Top 5.

I love.......... Cats, Penny Black Stamps, CAS cards and stenciling.

I knew I was going to select a Penny Black cat stamp. I have a few to choose from and decided on this cute "Cat on the Moon" stamp. I masked part of the card off then used Chipped Sapphire ink for an inky strip. The stenciling was done using a Lavinia stencil and the same ink. I stamped the cat twice, once directly onto the card front and a second time on a snippet of Bristol Vellum paper. This I colored with Zig Clean color real brush markers and fussy cut, then used foam tape to add to the card.

I inked some scrap paper using Squeezed Lemonade oxide ink then used some star dies to cut them out (Avery Elle Star Frame die set and Whimsy Stamps Star die set, which is no longer available). The sentiment is from the Penny Black set So Very Much. Stickles glitter was applied to the  moon to make it sparkle.

The challenge runs for one week and hope you'll join us! As a reminder, prizes are now announced just once a month but still selected from the weekly entries as before. This month's prizes come from WOWVOW, Craft Stash, AALL and Create and Ruth Hamilton Design.

Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - February Challenge

Hello and welcome to Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - February challenge taking place right here on my blog! I'm so glad you decided to stop by and hope you'll join in with all your crafty makes too! There were many fabulous creations last month, many thanks to everyone who took part! Be sure to scroll down to see who made the top picks!

As a reminder, the theme is now always.......

Anything Goes,

and instead of a challenge theme there will be a "Top Pick Twist" but nobody knows what the twist will be (not even me) until the challenge closes as it will be inspired by YOUR creations. So do link up all your new or recently created projects for a chance to be featured. Remember, you may share anything crafty, handmade by you. It doesn't have to be a card.

My February sample:

I started out by stenciling the clouds (MFT cloud stencil) then stamped the image (Penny Black - retired). I stamped it again on a bristol vellum paper scrap then colored with Distress watercolor pencils and fussy cut the pig and balloons. Foam tape was used to adhere to the card. The sentiment is from the Penny Black set Dream.Love. Before adhering to the card base I used a wonky stitches die for some added interest, along with some tiny die cut hearts.

January Top Picks with a Twist:

As mentioned previously, there is now a Top Pick Twist when it comes to my selection of Top Picks. Nobody knows what the twist will be - not even me - until the end of the month as the twist will be totally inspired by YOUR creations. This means the top picks will all have something in common.

The Top Pick Twist from the January entries is ............ A Floral Affair meaning each one of my top picks will feature some flowers. I don't know about you but I am so ready to see flowers blooming again!

Congratulations! Well deserved recognition! Your top pick logo is below, feel free to post it to your own blogs if you like to :)

I will continue to pin the top picks to the dedicated Pinterest board, but will also include photo and link back to the original blogs/sites here. These will be removed at the start of the new challenge to stay in compliance with GDPR.

A few things to remember:

Juggling Hearts

Hello and happy February! I don't know about you but I am so glad it's February! It's a short month and in my head we're just that one month away from spring although I do know March (and even April) will still be chilly. I don't know why, but as I've gotten older winter months are just getting harder to deal with! I actually used to like winter... once upon a time!

It's still a Winter theme at Four Seasons challenge and this is our last "Winter Season" month (until December). Hope you will join in with us! Winter Season means you may share anything winter months related including holidays like Valentine's Day :)

Here is my card and as usual it was inspired by the optional mood board.

Below is this month's optional mood board. I always enjoy being inspired by a mood board, this month I was inspired by the two images on the bottom.

I created a scene using Penny Black's Birches stamp and Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink. Added a few hills with some torn paper masks and the same ink then I added the fussy cut penguin to the scene. The penguin is an oldie by Elzybells (no longer in business) colored him with copics then fussy cut. On the stamp he is juggling snowballs but I cut them away and instead added tiny hearts to make it a Valentines card.

Related Products:

I added some red and white twine and a strip of patterned paper. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things - Itty Bitty Basics. Oh, I also used the xoxoxo stamp from the Penny Black set Snippets on the tree. I applied Stickles glitter to the hearts, hat and scarf for some sparkle.
