Happy Saturday! It's time for my weekly
Allsorts challenge card
share. This week our optional theme is "Matching Pairs" however
you may interpret that or you could go with "Anything Goes" as the
theme is optional.
I decided to make a card and matching envelope but I might also create a
matching bookmark to go with the card. Who doesn't love a handmade bookmark!!!???
And it would be a nice little gift to include with a handmade card.
I fell in love with the color combo of pink and yellow from this month's
Beautiful Blossoms
challenge mood board and so I created this cheerful floral birthday card.
Although my pink is a bit too dark. Isn't this a wonderful mood board!! Makes
me wish I had a glass of pink lemonade for sure!!
My stamp is Penny Black's
Alluring Arrangements. It's a beautiful
large stamp and I trimmed part of it off to fit my A2 sized card. I stamped on
Neenah 80lb card stock and colored with
copic markers. My base pink is Copic
color
Cotton Candy pink which would have
been a better match with the mood board, but I added a little bit (maybe too
much!!) of Copic color
Shock Pink,
blended with cotton candy pink and it turned into this magenta shade.
I used my old Stampin Up French Script background stamp on the background with
Mustard Seed Distress ink. My intention
was to add a strip of patterned paper to the side of the card but couldn't
find something simple enough that I liked and that matched so I made my own by
using
Picked Raspberry Distress ink and
a
Lavinia stencil. I added May Arts
white silk ribbon and tied the sentiment onto it with some twine. The
sentiment is part of the
Itty Bitty Basics stamp set from My
Favorite Things, I cut the words apart and glued onto a mini die cut tag (
tag die option).
You can see the decorated envelope above. I used part of the same stamp.
Thought I'd add few more blossoms above this and of course the edge of the
rubber had ink on it and transferred onto the envelope when I stamped the
blossoms. Since I already had the rest of the blossoms and butterfly on the
envelope colored, I decided to make another strip of stenciled paper and
adhered it onto the envelope. Inside I used some masking tape, then inked up
the edge of the insert with the same ink and stencil. (I didn't photograph the inside but there is a tiny peek on the photo above.) To complete the card I
added
Stickles glitter glue in Stardust for some sparkles.
